1.Pam Grier knew how to kick some ass. 2. That Petey Wheatstraw fight sequence was the worst fight sequence EVER. 3. Jim Kelly had the tightest afro i have ever seen. 4. Pretty Tony was cold.
@WattsFlyyest You're right!!! Years ago on Tony Brown's Journal he had a guest who said something similar except that SuperFly was the movie that brought people back the theaters.
Who is that sexy man at 1:18? So handsome! lol anyway I know blaxploitation films don't depict black people in the best light, but some of them were actually good and I've always enjoyed them and don't see why I should feel guilty about it. I like all types of movies, I just happen to enjoy Blaxploitation as well. I love the 70's and the culture so that's probably a big reason why.
@TheWolvie450- You don't know? In the 60's Hollywood was going broke because no one wanted to watch those tired ass movies they kept shoving down people's throats. I admit some were aiiighht, but the American public were not buying Hollywoods idea of entertainment. When Sweet "Sweetback's Baaaaadass song" came out, and Hollywood saw how much money it made on such a small budget. That was all she wrote! Lot's of these movies made a huge profit and brought Hollywood back to Reality .
HAHA I was named after the guy who played superfly!!!!! LOL @ Kung Fu Jones, black people havent changed, we still go to McDonalds to celebrate anything!!!!
"And without whites, you wouldn't have had a fountain to begin with. You would be drinking out of bowls or from the creek." First off I'm not black....I'm white. And what exactly makes you more privileged(the water fountain thing was just an example; job opportunities, voting rights etc. ) than say Neil Tyson or Cornell West? You certainly haven't achieved more than they have.
