Darren Lewis is one of the most overlooked sports journalists in the UK. His approach is balanced, understated but forensic in a diplomatic way. He is not a "got you" interviewer. I've always rated him. Let's all clap for him so his employers see that we want him in a more high profile role......🎉🎉🎉🎉
He was speaking to him like a counsellor/psychiatrist. When people intend to talk like this they observing the person in front of them. Because no matter how rich Toney is mental health real, 8 months doing nothing some people can lose the plot. But your right Darren Lewis approaches interviews with good caution.

Hes only been in the prem for a few seasons, not at a top flight club, and he worked his way up from the bottom. No lucky signing as a teenager like Mainoo or Garnacho, he's definitely one to look out for over the next few years.

I’m new to following this sport and American so I acknowledge I could be missing something here, but…
I kinda can’t believe I listened to the full 20+ minute interview and didn’t hear a single question about WHY he was suspended - other than a comment pointing out that Tonali has it easier it wasn’t even alluded to. These questions make it out like he’s completed some hero’s journey. Man was suspended!
I admire the composure of the interviewer - but how about a question about whether he feels he let his team down, and/or undermined the integrity of the game by breaking the gambling rules? How about asking him to disclose what exactly he did since details on that seem to be sparse?
Probably a condition of the interview was not to ask questions about the suspension
I hear you but his done his time. Secondly gambling is like a drug addiction. It's not easy , would you feel comfortable if someone was bringing up past drug addiction to shame ? Thirdly he was ridiculed and shamed for his gambling issues for 8 months, not the place now , now that he's moving on.
When he said all round striker he's referring to arsenal and Thier style of play. If arteta don't get a striker this Window I question him but not now, it's not his fault attacking players aren't scoring, best thing ever happen all this is happening during a transfer window so let's see
