Not necessarily. Wally was god in Queensland and he couldn’t get the Gold Coast seagulls or Queensland maroons to play cohesively and to put into perspective the level of respect Wally had, Alfie checked if it was ok and offered to pull out if it wasn’t, that Alfie played more origin than Wally.

I’m a Sharks fan, I was extremely nervous heading into this match, and to be honest I feel more nervous about these games rather than against the heavy hitters such as Penrith, Melbourne or the Roosters. People expected us to win and win comfortably, and we were heavy favourites, and sure why not after the first 2 rounds and the way our defence has currently been, but I had butterflies for this match, and what I feared is exactly what happened on the weekend, sure it hurt and I felt extremely embarrased, our boys had a complete shocker.
However at the same time I was happy for the Tigers, I have a soft spot for that team as I’m sure many others do, they’ve always been considered everyone’s “2nd favourite team”, I would’ve rather this happened to another team rather than us but I’m use to us getting these sort of occasional floggings happen to us over two decades.
I’m happy for Benji and the boys, we got humbled and it gave us a chance to look at ourselves and make us realise that we’re not as good as we think we are, I look at this as a blessing in disguise.
For Tigers sake I sure hope this is not just another one hit wonder victory and they go back to being the laughing stock of the competition getting flogged by 60 and 70 points as they have been over the past few years, I want them to be successful, for the clubs sake, their fans and the game in general, it must absolutely suck and hurt being on the bottom of the ladder every year, we felt it during the mid 2000’s and early 2010’s but since 2015 we have been a consistent finals footy team only missing in 2021 thank to the Warriors getting spanked by the Titans in the final game and they jumped up to 8th and we dropped to 9th that year.
Let’s hope Tigers become a force, I believe in Benji.

I want to see the West tigers in the top four at least. Benjie Marshall has an infectious positive nature.
You can see this is filtrating through his team.
These guys are starting to believe in themselves again.
Most people have written Benji off.
I see Benji will be around for a long time as a top professional coach.
Extremely ambitious and a true believer.
    He will never give up.

Tigers have never had a problem finding talent. On paper, they have generaly maintained strong teams. The problem seems to be management and training where players are either unmotivated and/or not being utilised properly. How many times has a player left the tigers only to then excel at the new club.

The West Tigers have a combo of experience and the youth. I think Benji has a point to prove and so far so good. They had a different regime in the last season and I think 2024 we will see some changes happening. Benji knows this footy club well and he might take it the next level. Go the Tigers. All the best. they always do this, use this kinda over the top hype up language, remember when they said Luke Brooks was the next Andrew Johns? (after his first ever game), the pressure heaped on that kid almost crashed his footy career into the ground. being optimistic is fine, but i would hold off on cracking open the champagne bottles and celebrating the Tigers premiership win just yet.
