Went to her Eras Tour in Houston, as my 16 year old said…..it was an outer body experience. lol. Seeing it again in New Orleans in October.

It was the recommendation of a friend who’s a musical theater triple threat that got me to go to the Eras movie despite only knowing the most popular radio hits for the most part (and really only caring for the ones from 2006-2009). I very quickly understood why it got her stamp of approval and ended up seeing it three times in theaters (and I’m not someone who goes to movies more than once), because it was too much to absorb and appreciate! I thought I was coming for music, but had to go back for the costumes, the stage/set design, the dancers & choreo, the cinematography… musical theater is the closest comparison I can make, but it’s really like nothing I’ve ever seen! I can only imagine what it’s like to be there live 🤩

The snake is because, during the whole Kim/Kanye edited phone call thing, Kim K. called Taylor a snake and encouraged people to bombard Taylor’s Instagram with snake emojis. So, like a true bad-ass, Taylor took that, turned it into art and threw it back.

He said she is versatile multiple times in this video. THIS IS WHY SHE IS SO BIG. She is without a doubt the most versatile artist of our time, if not all time! From country to country pop, to pop, then synth pop, then fell good pop, then indie, then back to synth/regular pop… not to mention her songwriting and amazing production and vocals and PERFORMANCE!!!

A lot of people say that Reputation was never meant to be just an album. It was created to be a stadium tour from the beginning. That’s part of what makes it just so incredible IMO
This song is about Kanye when he was on a suspended tilted stage yelling F Taylor Swift. It started when Kim K secretly recorded a call where Kanye called Taylor about mentioning her in his song. Kim K edited the call and then leaked it and called Taylor a liar. The full recording came out proving Taylor was telling the truth but the damage was already done. That is why this tour is called Reputation, Kim K and her sisters were posting snakes and calling Tad a snake so TS made a snake the symbol of her tour. I’m glad Tad was vindicated but they did her DIRRRTY.

The eras tour show is 44 songs and is 3 hours and 20 minutes. For 6 months before the tour she ran on a treadmill 6 (maybe 5) days a week while she sang ALL 44 SONGS! She wanted to be certain she had the stamina to give her best show to every audience. And she wrote ALL the songs. She is a force of nature. She says she is not a singer who writes songs, she is a songwriter who sings.

I read the tilted stage refers to Kanye who apparently had a tilted stage at one point! The lyrics almost always have specific meaning. This song seems like her changing from a nice girl who got massacred in the media, into this unapologetic, untrusting bad girl.

This was also her first single after going on a hiatus after the Kim and Kanye phone call which led to the Taylor Swift is over party. I know he’s your boy but they did her so dirty and everyone jumped on it. She drops albums every 2 years so an album was expected, it didn’t happen. She went dark EVERYWHERE. Didn’t go in public, no appearances, took down her social media. And then dropped Reputation with Look What You Made Me Do as the lead single. The video is so good. It’s been said that this song is basically a huge f you to everyone (media, Kim and Kanye, everyone who was against her) - everyone expected a certain type of sound and lyricism and she basically just said here something for you to chew on and talk shit about bc I know you will, I just don’t care.

I definitely think Reputation album and concert is the best starting point on a TS journey. Made sll the better when you do s little research into the background of each album and where she was at in her life when she was writing them. I personally, do not recommend her Folklore album until you're further in. Reputation and Midnights i feel are great starting points w/ many songs you'd probably vibe with.
I am not a swiftie but, never disliked her. I just never really paid much attention. It was due to reaction videos like yours that introduced me to some of her more recent stuff.
And was I impressed!
Early on I saw the video for this song and heard it was about Kanye and Kim and what they did to her in 2016.
I googled it and read about it. Man, what was done to this lady and the unfairness of the keyboard warriors who are always so quick to make snap decisions without checking things out and just jump on the negativity and hate out of sheer laziness. As well as the laziness and nastiness of the entertainment media.
Taylor got so hated on over a lie by K and K it caused her to leave the country and hide in a rental house somewhere for a year. She stopped talking to friends because she trusted no one but her close family. She got traumatized by this.
Taylor always tried to be a nice person and help other artists, etc. and these two sleazes decided to ruin her reputation and career.
They almost succeeded.
Then she hit back with this album.
And a few years later proof came out that K and K set Taylor up and they were the liars. That Taylor did nothing wrong. What burns me is that neither paid any price for trying to destroy a fellow artist and never got a drop of the hell that Taylor was put through. They never paid for what they did to her./
Oh, I forgot the snake. Kim encouraged people to call Taylor a snake. Really pushed it. so when Taylor came back with this album she used snakes as images and such as digs towards Kanye and Kim
Try Exile - Long Pond Sessions. I believe this is going to be in any top 10 ten duets of all time list. And a totally different vibe. It was done during Covid. She was in upstate New York and Justin was in Eau Clair Wisconsin. Brilliant. I love these huge stadium songs but j use wait until you visit all the Long Pond sessions. (Oh, did I mention I’m a 77 yo white woman in Kansas?)

I know I'm likely pissing off other viewers with my broken record comments about source videos. Swift Leaks is good, but I don't think their edits are on par with the originals that come from the official tour videos. The EAS channel seems to have the better edits overall, using the official videos and maybe some other clips. Swift Leaks is good in that they don't just use the official videos, but sometimes it causes a lack in quality. This video is an example. The original from the Netflix video is much better and the sound matches better. I don't care for the Swift Leaks edit for this song. EAS has a better version. In my opinion. Plus, EAS has a lot of videos from other album tours.

You said you wana see a concert… Eras tour is going on now and for all the people who couldn’t get tickets fear not…you can see the Eras tour movie coming to select theaters (AMC) starting 10/13 adult tickets are 19.89 and you can go see the whole concert in theaters and you’ll experience her fans reactions. You should def go see it lol I bet you’d have a blast this tour production was 100x what reputation tour was✌🏻 I’m taking my daughter and we’re dressing up and have friendship bracelets to hand out😂❤🫶🏻Keep them coming I love watching you unfold the layers that make Taylor who she is as a true artist in every form

It’s what my argument every time is when people say they don’t see why she’s a big deal, or can’t even say she’s talented…. Like what is your definition of talent then? She writes her own songs, plays guitar, piano, performs like it’s a broadway musical, putting 100% effort into, has an incredible range, sounds BETTER live than she does on albums IMO.
