    See what your options are for a grapple if you don't have any additional hydraulics on your tractor. Power Beyond is not designed to operate a grapple. Your SCV's that control your loader will not also control a traditional grapple. Finally, manufacturers are wising up and finding solutions that will help the 90% of us that don't have any additional hydraulic SCV's or diverter kits on our tractors. You can now get a grapple. The best part is that these can be easily assembled and installed quickly! No trips to the dealer. Assemble it, attach it to your tractor, and get to work!
    The Westendorf Brush Crusher offers many models, with two of the most popular models being the BC-4200 for JDQA loaders and the BC-4300 for SSQA loaders. The Brush Crusher BC-4200 weighs only 238 lbs while the BC-4300 weighs in at 295 lbs. Both options are substantially lighter and cheaper than a traditional hydraulic grapple and will still complete the work of a traditional hydraulic grapple at a fraction of the overall cost.
    Worksaver has now come out with an electric grapple, the ESCG-48 Mini Grapple which will work with both JDQA and SSQA loaders. This is operated by an electric actuator and comes with the complete wiring harness with integrated thumb control to operate with your hand on the joystick. The entire package weighs in at 240 lbs/247lbs respectively and means you can be up and running with the grapple function within an hour of getting the grapple home. These grapples will be a game changer as they make a true grapple function an affordable reality for the rest of us without additional hydraulics.

    Your honesty about saving weight will save a lot of folks many headaches. Most dealers will not advise to that hoping to sell a larger grapple.

    I bought the brushcrusher 4200 a year and a half ago for my JD 3032e. I thought I would just pick up the larger limbs, but when they came out with the extra teeth, I just bought the lower teeth to keep the weight down. Now I can pick up small limbs also along with bigger leaf piles. I love it.

    Great video Courtney - Thanks for sharing how these grapples work - In my opinion, I think the BC-4215 is the best bang for the buck - The center teeth will make it invaluable for small brush etc. At 285 pounds the BC-4215 is only about 100 pounds more than the weight of the 53" bucket on the 1025r which will still give you about 600 pounds of lift capacity... I'm saving up to order one from you - Thanks....

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a Brush Crusher (BC-4215 for a JD 3038e? -- I don't know much about loader types or whatever), but needed to watch more actual "at work" videos to talk myself into it. I think this may have done it. And my wife watched this with me, so that's an added benefit, because now it sounds like she's on board with it too! :-) Can you give me an idea of cost for what I need for my JD (I would want the center dentures), and discuss what shipping costs might look like (to southeast GA), esp. compared to buying from my local JD dealer. (I understand you probably don't want to provide an actual "quote" -- just generalities would suffice. Or I could contact you directly if that would work better for you.)

      Glad to hear it! Yes, this would work just fine on your 3038e too. Shoot me an email for exact pricing, but the BC-4215 is $1,699 plus tax and freight. Freight will depend on if it's a commercial or residential address, but it typically quite reasonable as they come in a compact crate. I'd be happy to help and thank you for watching!

      I have a JD 3038E and an older Westendorf Brush Crusher BC-4200, love it, has out preformed my expectations. It has a little JD Green paint left on it. ha ha. It did not come with the middle part as you're showing at the time of purchase. I heard that you can buy the top or the bottom separately, is that true? I think it would be best to order both top and bottom together. Is your price below for both top and bottom? What about Ag exemptions also?

    Almost 300lbs for a grapple on a subcompact is way too heavy IMO. 285lbs is almost 100lbs more then a land pride grapple. Thats 100lbs less lift available...

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Před 4 lety

      I agree, however, I am selling far more of the 285 lb BC-4215 compared to the 200 lb Hydraulic mini grapple, 238 lb BC-4200, and 240 lb Electric mini grapple. So, you and I appear to both be in the minority on that one.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Před 3 lety +1

      Oh, well yeah, similar to tractors, I don't think anyone makes the perfect grapple. I like the vertical nature of the bottom jaw on the Worksaver. However, that doesn't mean I don't like the Crusher. The limitation of the Crusher is when loading into high sided trailers as you cannot roll the grapple to unload. It has limitations, but that is not an issue for most folks.
