As always I am Human and I may have Different Feelings Towards Models than you have. I have made this guide to help new wargamers that are interested in Napoleonic Wargaming to give them a starting point. i have focused mainly on plastics but Remember there are metal manufactures with some great models links will be below. please drop me a comment on how you are going to start your army and what you may do differently.

Brilliant video . So well described . I Will share this with various forums for beginners who ask how to start . Also readers could choose Polish or Duchy of warsaw / Polish Vistula who were great French Allies . They could be metal from Murawski or the warlord plastic . Just a thought .

What I did was a box of Victrix and 2 Perrys . The victrix will give you spare command for another 24 figure Battalions to go with the perry 2nd half of their pkt . So split the Perry box great coats and shirt apart to make 2 x 24 figure Bn's

@@3dWargamer Yep 3 for Regular and 4 for Large, will be doing quite a few small (2 bases) as well, as regiments were pretty small at times.

Very entertaining and the troops look great. One more infantry brigade would give you 3 divisions, along with some more cavalry you would have a Corps.

I like to make my Perry French Lines Elites into Voltigeurs and my Warlord Elites into Grenadiers so you can get the height difference.

Just a question, not telling you want to do. The display of your brigades has your infantry laid out in line formation. This is intuitive at the start. But they French Infantry formed in column and even attacked as a column because of the speed of the assault. Preceded by a heavy skirmisher screen of course. So why are they not set in column? Not that you are the only one who does this. Even the display on the WarLord web site has them in line.
I ask because the use of columns was effective until they ran into the British line. Most other armies fought in line but were slow to form into line, especially while copping a hiding from the French artillery and skirmishers. However the British army were a smaller "professional" unit of volunteers not conscripts. Wellington formed his own dedicated skirmishers to deal with the French. Also the British had a higher rate of fire than any other army of the day, partially due to training and partially due to technology i.e. a finer grade of gunpowder that fouled the weapon less.
