Shulk underperforming at a tournament isn't all that suprising. Shulk is the only "top tier" in Smash that has never ever won a major.
I think he has, if we count C tiers as majors.

No Gannon player is ever gonna top the set between Nario and Light a couple years ago. I don’t remember what tournament that was but the match was incredible

The week before this event, Major flew out to a tournament in my region and if I can say one thing that makes his Ganon different: his offstage game. I can count the amount of times I saw him edgeguarded on one hand. He's so good at mixing up his fastfalls and double jumps.

It’s prob just a preference on the matchup, Pyra can camp harder against Ganon with side b (even though because of speed and frame data mythra is 100% better in this matchup)
Supposedly because he finds her too 'cheesy', and overall enjoys Pyra's playstyle and finds her more fun.

Ganondorf is so fun, its so sad how low tier he is in every Smash. IDk why they couldn't buff him even a little... At least make it so his forward B can be used with his up B to recover. Plenty of other characters who can do that. Just give him that would raise him a tier.
Some things I realized about the first set (haven’t made it through all of it yet)
Idk if Tickle plays solo Pyra, but it really felt like there were opportunities to switch to Mythra, such as after getting a good opening hit where now Pyra has made up for the attack size and has put Ganon in tumble, allowing a free switch and easy ways to get in and set up Mythra stuff. If it’s solo Pyra tho then mad respect
This is one thing I noticed about Major. Because Ganon has a pretty bad recovery due to Ganons air stats, Major not only understands fast falling and recovering as a whole to a T, but also sometimes he’ll overshoot ledge under the stage so he can ride up the wall reversed, hitting anyone too close with the punch to send offstage, and *for the most part* having a safe recovery still while being aggressive, and knowing how to perfectly space grabbing ledge right after the punch in case he misses

tickle plays mostly pyra cause mythra is a smelly character, after a talk w/ him i had he said that he prefers the way pyra feels, less cheesy and dumb of a character. also just more fun than mythra

Hearing ESAM talk positive on the character he thinks is the worst, is weirdly refreshing.
Great job to that Ganon player. Good coverage Esam. ---in the past I recommended Ganondorfs to pick stages with platforms. It helped our mobility. But that was in melee when we had wave-landing tech to support us. also, later in the video it was hard to tell if the upsmash out of shield would hit-it may have been just been out of range after that smash attack from Shulk.
It seems to be happening again last year peanut became more recognized since he was playing the second worst character and is doing quite well now we see dorihya playing well with ganon if this keeps up we might have the worst characters be changed which hasn’t happened in a while

The final “50/50” AirChoke setup on the final stock vs Shulk: Fizzmint’s counter option was to getup attack. Sadly for him, he panic-buffered roll away and fell for the UpSmash platform trap

7:09 From what I saw, I believe ganon dash attack collided and canceled out pyra side b on their 1st active hitbox frames. I think that's actually what happened at that moment.

Speaking of low mid tier characters when are we getting a video about kilogram hours the dedede that got 9th at combo breaker, and 7th at warp zone 2. Very interesting player to watch on an underutilized character.
I had to fight him at Frosty Faustings. I slept on him so hard (even though I'd heard his tag) and regretted it not long after
The Warp Zone 2 placement isn't nearly as impressive as the Combo Breaker one imo
I love GanonD he’s my main, it feels sooo good to see one do well! Still holding out hope that a patch will come out and he will get a slight buff but until then I will be the Koy fish fighting to swim yo that waterfall

He goes well into many C tiers and objective beats every other F tier, yes even at top levels. When he is not A, many High Bs start really countering him but C? He is a god damn scary as many lack the tools to counter him effectively.

Shulk vs Ganondorf is bad for Ganon, but the shit frame data Shulk has makes it doable. Ganondorf's moves are way faster on average.

I usually dislike chaining flame chokes because it feels like gambling away your advantage on repeat is worse than cashing out, but chaining against shield art actually makes a lot of sense.

I feel like out of all top tier archetypes, Ganon does best vs swordies because they usually don’t have the best combos (def not touch of deaths), usually not the best recoveries so Ganon can get some early edge guards, not the fastest framedata so they can’t just smoother Ganon and stop him from playing the game, and while they can keep him out, not as well as zoners.
That's not true at all. Swordies completely stomp on Ganon. They can edge guard and space out Ganon super well. They also edge guard him rather easily.
@@navataruslower Swordies like Shulk and pyra are definitely suboptimal for this matchup in comparison this game’s brawlers, zoners, and traditional Swordies like Roy or Lucina.
@@navataru I didn’t say Ganon beats swordies, I said out of the good characters he does the best against him. Rushdown and zoners are much worse for Ganon Imo and many believe Lucina to be Ganons best top tier mu. Also what decent character doesn’t edgeguard him easily lmao

the ganon player takes good initial advantage of people trying to out space and wait for him to mess up by committing to things like a dash attack that aims further than where the players start neutral. the guys winning because people are too busy playing safe over adapting, wp giga ganon chad

Not really impressed with the pyra play, he easily could have won that if he knew how to mess with Ganon recovery at all.
Also, gonna say pyra only is dumb against Ganon. Ganon WANTS to trade hits with other slow heavy hitters. Mythra would eat him alive. He'd never be able to catch her, her moves can easily stuff him out of up b early, her side b would be able to recover horizontally against Ganon for free in many of these situations, you can foresight through nair, and even if you're gonna scared edge guard you can just up b and shoot those projectiles out that Ganon simply can't deal with.

Shulk is so overrated AF in this game; it's been like 4 years and he hasnt done anything with it, all the fp2 characters have won at least one major. Shulk shouldn't be rated over characters like Young Link, Yoshi, Sephiroth, etc.
Ganondorf is not the worst character. Plant and Kirby are so much worse.
