Yes, he's viable. He's the slowest on the ground and his recovery is too risky but it's all just to balance his amazing tools

I keep forgetting that the name of his down b is revenge. I've been so Wolfy Pilled that I've been calling it Intimidate for months
This is a really cool concept that core a gaming when over a few years ago about how certain character archetypes emit certain emotions like zoners correlating to anger and grapplers relating to fear. This video is a perfect example of a break down of the latter and maybe you can do one on other players like sonix and how they win the mental game.

Taunting and Mind Games Core A Gaming
Skyjay might be THE most badass player I've ever seen on this game. Never heard of him until Collision but good GOD I was NOT ready to watch him wreak havoc in the way he did. The sheer power this man emanates is terrifying even when you aren't the one fighting him.
What I find most impressive about Skyjay is his ability to learn from his losses. Getting the runback on Riddles at Summit showed how much he learned from those Collision sets. Kurama is one of the only players I've seen 3-0 him twice in a row.
Also got the win on apollokage jus a day (or 2) later!
And now he man-handled Kurama at the LMBM Crew Battle
Skyjay is so incredible, it's been a treat watching him recently :D
Wish people played more characters that instill fear into people, they're cool.

Not sure if he's the strongest mentally but after his summit participation it is clear that his gameplay is extremely good, he analizes his opponent by limiting his plays and testing the waters, often giving a game away in the process and then proceeds to adapt to what he learned and curbstomp his opponents for the rest of the match, its crazy

discovered Skyjay legit like 2 days ago when I watfched random video of him playing nairo against his ganondorf, So I wanted to see what this incineroar player was about.
Go find his video, the dude is smiling the whole time, headbanging to music, chillin, talking shit, and doing his homework between stocks/matches.

Could you please make a video discussing mentality in more detail, and more specifically, ways to train a better mentality for competitive Smash?
It's such a huge part of the game, but almost nobody discusses it, and I'm really struggling with my own, due to getting run over at every tournament I go to
stay neutral whether you're ahead or behind, so that reversals don't throw you off
@@nathanlevesque7812 It's not exactly that easy- I don't always know when I'm in the right mindset to begin with, and then, any little thing that happens unexpectedly in the game is enough to set me off- I feel like I have no control over myself
A better mentality for Smash is don't play this game competitively.
@@wildmonkeycar It's almost like mindsets are bullshit and instead about how good you objectively are. There are no "bad mindsets" unless you're literally playing to lose.

I think it’s a matchup thing. Once top players learn the incenroar matchup and all the zoners and fast characters don’t need to learn the matchup due to their advantage it’s going to be tough for skyjay to stay on top. He needs to pickup a character to cover incenroar’s worst matchups and mixup his gameplay.

Skyjay's play is amazing, but no player will make me like Incineroar as he's designed in Smash.
His Side-B is a pretty bog-standard command grab, Down-B is a counter with extra steps and besides those moves 90% of his game plan is just mashing down-throw and down-tilt because they give you the most free, brainless follow-ups in the game besides bury throws from 0% to kill %.
Very interesting and well thought-out. I'd suggest you consider work in games journalism, but your writing skills are obviously too good for that line of work.
Funny that Incineroar's ability in pokemon is intimidate.

Which player is the one who taunts with Incineroar when landing hits? Is it also this guy?
Incineroar does small mini taunts after completing any of his moves successfully. Frequently these get canceled out by player movement but its a legit built in thing to the character.
@@TheFurrLord No I mean like, there is a player who he himself taunts along with incineroar after every mini-taunt, I was just asking if that player was also Skyjay
@@cgillis3989 Oh no. I think I know who you are talking about I think. There's an incineroar player known as 6:00am who i've seen do the taunts while playing. He also wears a big clock around his neck
