Man, I didn't know I was going to get to hear my man Dave Niehaus tonight. Dan Wilson was one of my favorite Mariners too. Thank you for brightening up my night with this one!
The two Phillies and Nats ones at the beginning were really confusing at first, since the same guy who hit one for the Nats was CF when the Phils hit one in the next highlight. Great editing.
Inside the park grand slams (or inside the park home runs of all types, really) used to be much more common in baseball 100+ years ago. Back then, it was routine for fans in the bleachers to be separated from the outfielders with just a rope, rather than a wall or a fence. Any fly ball that landed on the other side of the rope was of course a home run, but balls that bounced past the rope or rolled under the rope, etc were still considered in play.
Well, except home runs in general were much rarer. The ones that were home runs were often inside the parkers though. The first known major league home run (National Association) was hit by Roger Connor in a game playing for the Troy Trojans against Worchester. Connor was the single and career home run king until Ruth came along. When Troy folded a bunch of the players relocated to a new team in NYC called the Giants... who got their name from their (particularly for the time) very tall slugger, Connor. Of course, at 6'3", if he was the tallest guy on the team in NYC these days, with Judge playing across town they might have been named the NY Shorties.
I remember the first time I saw Junior Felix play he hit an inside the park grand slam. Sometimes it's outfielders misplaying the ball. Sometimes it's hitters crushing it to deep parts of that park. That one, the camera panned out and I expected the throw to be going in to third, but he was so fast he was digging for home.
If I was the Red Sox manager, I would remove the CF immediately for not even trying to go get the ball! Players need to hustle on every play no matter what!
@@FunWithMemesFunWithMemes Missing the ball was bad, but seeing it hit the ground and just moping around forcing your teammates to retrieve it is MUCH worse.
@@ryanchase9332 yea i mixed on 1st guy he was trying but yes once he finally found the ball he just stood there. but i do feel at that point he knew the left fielder was on his way and closer.. 2nd guy was my worst imo should of been benched and or sent back to minors. i get u cant go 100% all the time. long grueling season. but make legit efforts.
@@zekesboxtalk1 Taylor also had that game where he struck out 5 times then in the bottom of the 9th allowed the winning run to scored on a botched single to center.
Try catching a baseball with lights in your face, and the only reason he didn’t try to get it is that he thought it was a home run that dropped from the stands.
So on the one hand humanity can count literature, engineering, science, technology, art, music, medicine, math, and philosophy among the highest accomplishments and on the other hand we have these people who run and throw balls. Lessee, which do we need these days?...
July 25, 1956...Roberto Clemente hits the only walkoff inside-the-park grand slam in MLB history.
@Hury Springer They did after Clemente slid across the plate.

"ah fuck it i'll just stand here"
Funny how Micheal A. Taylor hit one against the Phillies then the next clip was him giving one up to the Phillies
A cruel mistress

Not that hard to understand
how is that hard to understand

Amazing plays to see! So rare!
You know Tony Gwynn worked hard for that one.
Cool watching Alley’s grand slam from Jarry Park
0:14 when your controller disconnects
Bob Brower: “What about me, you jerks!”
3:37 If the fan got that ball, they would have been beaten to a pulp. It would have made it a double, losing the home team 2 runs.
The funniest thing is that majority of the modern ones are either by the Nationals or against the Nationals
Ron Karkovice had one vs Twins in Metro Dome!
Junior Felix, Toronto at Fenway late '80's.
If I was the Red Sox manager, I would remove the CF immediately for not even trying to go get the ball! Players need to hustle on every play no matter what!
That was a matter of missing the ball, not lack of effort

TAPIA❗️ 🔥🍁🇨🇦 💙#️⃣1️⃣ jiggA‼️🎉😊
Duran just WALKED over...Send him to the minors to teach speed...
I wonder , on the score card would that be an error ?
seemed like a really unusual occurrence until watching this...
You missed the nationals one in 2015
Poor Michael Taylor.
He got one himself which is ok
@@zekesboxtalk1

Cool video, but last clip was technically ruled a double with an error allowing the other base runners to score
Fair, appreciate you watching to the end
@@baseballisntboring Thanks. I hope I didn't sound like I was harping on you or anything
Little league inside the park is what it’s considered isn’t it?
The last one was a Little League home run...but I'm a Mariners fan, so I'll give it a pass.
i was there and ngl i was booing duran lmao
Your name is right!
“Get the rye bread and mustard”?!?
Grand Salami
What mlb team do you go for ???
Red Sox and Yankees
@@baseballisntboring”I root for both the Hatfields and McCoys.”
I saw the tapia in the game
I was there too 👍
The blue jays had another inside the park grand slam against red soxs in boston in 1989. Junior Felix hit I.
I know but I couldn’t find a clip of it
@@baseballisntboring I found a clip of it on CZcams
All slams are not created equal, some have to work harder for them.
Brett Phillips is going to hit an inside the park grand slam on 5/15/2023
It’s funny the nationals got a inside the park grand slam off the phillies next at bat the phillies get a inside the park grand slam off the nationals
The last one couldn't have been a grand slam...throw to the plate for the batter came from near the 3rd base dugout.
You missed Bryan reynolds
Wasn’t a grand slam
no defense
2nd play centerfielder should of been benched at minimum.
Or end up like a certain Pirates 1B.
Duran is an embarrassment to the Sox organization… he should be traded or sent to minors. That play is inexcusable
He was just walking lol 😂

@@zachPlushgaming doesn’t matter! I used to play baseball and I could have made the catch. Stop with the excuses… he’s a bust
@@TennesseeBlues4642 So why aren't you playing center field for the Red Sox?

outfielders who make an error and then give up on chasing are pathetic
yawn
Baseball IS boring.
That’s why I’m showing you the clips that aren’t 👍
