      @gantz4u Před 2 lety

      Make sure youre running the right ignition key that started your car last time. If you got a multimeter. USE THAT. Check the battery voltage(DC meter setting). It should be above 10 around 12+ then check it again with the multi meter when its running for something like 13 or 14, indicating your alternator is charging the system, to be safe. If you dont have a multimeter you will need someone to test your battery. Some aut0 parts stores will do this for free, if u can deliver the battery to them. But removing the battery is going to reset everything. So have the key and clicker on hand and your mileage will vary depending on your security unit and how its designed to protect your car from thefts.

    It's not clear what speakers work after using this kit. My '08 4R has the JBL Synthesis but it appears to be a "Dolby ProLogic" system as it has a center speaker in the dash and also two small speakers in the far-rear, upper corners in the cargo area in addition to the sub in the rear and speakers in all four doors (10 in total). So, which of all these speakers work after a conversion? I'm OK losing fader, but not OK losing the door speakers in the back seat or the sub. The center and "rear" speakers in the cargo area are probably no loss if they don't work, however.

    Welp..that was fun Im out $100 bucks on the headunit and 3 sets of harnesses and cant get the JBL amp a signal to turn on. Im going to throw it all in the trash and give up.
    Edit: so thats not going to work. at some point it turns it off.
    Edit: I wired the 12 volt memory wire and 12volt ignition accessory wire together before the cars wire block. So I can send the proprietary turn on interface signal to the stock JBL amp with the old OEM headunit. Then Hot swap the Aftermarket head unit in. Im hoping this keeps the turn on signal memorized with a constant 12 volts. Seemed to work turning on and off the aftermarket head unit. But needs more time to figure out if it somehow loses the turn on signal or drains off the battery. I cant imagine it causing too much of a parasitic draw if the head unit is off. and The acc. ignition position no longer has anything to do with the radio.
    I heard some other guy saying to keep the OEM head unit interfaced just to wire it to send the JBL turn on signal to the amp. as some extra brick you store somewhere as the on button.

    • @gantz4u
      @gantz4u Před 8 měsíci

      @@MotionPotion3 It didnt work. After 3 harnesses I bought the upid amplifier interface harness. If you have the Toyota 4runner with JBL logo on the door speaker. Save yourself and get the upid black box that sends the proprietary CANBUS DATA signal as the on switch. Its $65. I blame JBL and will boycott them for the rest of my life thanks to the evil deed they did here.
      The only other way is to intercept the data signals across the 2 data wires. Figure out what its doing and build your own black box for communications. to keep the stock JBL amp.
      Also if you lose battery signal leave the key in the accesory position wait a minute then start if you have no start issue. Then For the next week it will die because its relearning idle. So you need to let it idle for awhile and let it idle in Drive position and run the throttle. Just giving the memory time to relearn where your power steering doesnt get knocked out in the field and wondering how your car is broke. Since Toyota is also a trash car. Toyota and JBL are trash match. Subaru has never done me dirty like Toyota always does..everywhere. Especially if its some1 elses car. Dont help people with a toyota. Tell them they goofed and drive it off a cliff where it belongs. cuz next thing u know theyre going to look at you like youre the weak link here. From an oil change to a headunit install Toyota cursed their cars.
      I think I got a whole Aftermarket system in a subaru for the cost of their proprietary $65 on box that hits and audio quality is way better. But thats time designing and wiring it in. The black box kind of just goes. Then Hits your bass notes way too heavy cuz the whole car is junk box. also shes fat.
      Also if the black box isnt working then in my experience its determining the proper amp on signal wire being delivered by the head unit to the black box and what wire is sending that signal to the black box vs what wire recieves in the black box as the black box is good to go as far as wiring diagrams. Headunits are iffy. Mine wasnt even written in english on the head unit.
      Also keep what I said about Idle relearn in the back of your pocket. As I have seen these guys stuck dead in the water wondering if its a fuel pump fuse or relay and if you remember you can run over and save the day b4 the tow truck, knowing its just upid and fat. I know ive run up on that and had me stumped the 5 minutes in the field you get. IT doesnt mention anything about that idle relearn anywhere. Because its designed to do you dirty and antitrust car.
      Also if youre wiring a tail cam for the headunit and have to use an RCA Coupler Female to Female What I did is dropped a ball of solder on the males to slightly increase the diameter and get a snugger fit. Then Soldered the outer ground coupler sleeves to the RCA coupler to make a solid connection. But you can wire them solid since its just a positive negative wire insulated from each other. So you can hard wire or wire in new male/females easy with a solder iron. But that was my trick to extend the cables and get them bullet proof using the Coupler female females, as well as an old coolpix to use as a test gadget to send signal to the head unit to diagnose no signal down to the coupler block.

      @@caden3ds buy what, instead of the 61-J?? the Crux SOHTL20?? honestly if you have the JBL symbol. Youre cooked. Were done, and you might as well bend over and pull down your pants for the video, here. Because youre going to need that interfacing solution. Theres no options and its not cheap. The only way I can see getting a "Win" here is if we all start buying black box interface solutions just to return them as a hobby. This is a cyber punk dystopia where its us against the corpo's.

    Hello and thanks for the informative video, could you clarify why the rear speakers do not get connected? I thought with this connector the OEM JBL system functions would be kept?
