    Look imma HUGE 2A GUY......but this cpl here.......smh.....with a kid u knew had mental problems ur way of helping him was buying him a gun n allowing total unsupervised access to said weapon. I can't argue that for u. Fact is is idiots who were more worried about urselves then ur kid. My kids havnt shown any issues with mental illness over their lives....I still never allowed that access to weapons unsupervised.
    The fact is they're kids. Supervison is part of being a kid n when weapons are involved u would have to be a moron to let this happen. N one could argue u didn't just let it happen u were in fact the catalyst.. if u wanted to help ur kid maybe spend time with him. Listen to him. Get him anything to help him. .....n tgat thing should've never been a free use weapon. Tgese ppl make responsible owners all look bad.
    Buy a safe
    Lock up dangerous things.
    N if ur going to teach or allow a child access it is under supervision at all times. This isn't rocket science it is common sense.

      I thought the same thing at one time but after finding out more about the case, there were so many things they didn't know. They didn't know he had a gun, had access to it and ammunition. They didn't know everything that was going on at home or that he was having hallucinations and had asked his parents for help. Plus they thought it was better for him to be at school than sent home alone because I believe they thought he might harm himself. Lots of things could have gone differently and this would have never happened, and blame can be pointed at a lot of places, but I think the school did the best they could with the information they had. Still, I'm sure there will be civil cases filed against the school.

    • @Ad-Lo
      @Ad-Lo Před 3 měsíci +5

      I disagree that it’s a poor defence as a fellow attorney. Jennifer is charged with involuntary manslaughter, not commission of murder. She isn’t there to paint Jennifer as a good person nor as a good mother. She’s simply there to pose the question to jurors whether someone who is so invested in their work and is busy with their own things (horses, marriage breakdown…) could reasonably have been expected to know in advance that their son was going to kill other people with a gun. It may be an assumed conclusion for observers in hindsight, but Ms. Smith is there to suggest that whatever actions Jennifer took - or didn’t take - are not tantamount to manslaughter. Jennifer isn’t on trial for being selfish, arrogant, indifferent or lazy. The defence attorney is isolating her client in terms of getting the jury to like her as a person, but disliking someone doesn’t mean they had foreknowledge of what someone else they weren’t really paying attention to would go ahead and do. Whether she _should_ have been paying more attention to her son (which we all agree she should) isn’t the question here. The question is whether her negligence is equivalent to manslaughter.

    Jennifer looks about 40 lbs heavier than when she was arrested. Prison food I suspect.

    Her lawyer is very good , she is just choosing not to do her job ! Look up when she wanted to have case dismissed, she stood her ground well , although obviously they denied dismissal, thus defense attorney is just given up , not getting her dismissal. No passion for her job $$$$$$
