  • "I’m 30 years old, how much should I have saved?"... well this is a tricky one as everyone's in a different position, some people in their 30’s have kids, some have been working for years and in a good job, some maybe aren’t working, so it’s difficult to say but a ballpark figure would be €10,000 minimum.
If you don’t have savings and you’re 30 years of age that’s okay too! If you do want to start saving though you’re in the right place, check out our top ten money savings tips through the link in our bio and remember it’s never too late to start!

I think you should start saving as soon as you start working even €10 a week, making a plan and starting the habit early is the best thing to do

€10k might have been a lot 20 years when you were 30 but now is peanuts imho. Also these days you need a side hustle along with a job and be willing to ignore the Joneses next door.

Wow this makes me not feel so bad !!!!
I have 40k nearly saved - but I’m a single deaf parent now living soooo frugal to get this behind me plus other things that gave me a bulk of that income then kept saving on top . I don’t care about living with Jones -I rather have emergency fund ,working okay job 35k-40K a year max .
I though I was bad - wow maybe I need give myself more credit I’m doing pretty well !

As a man don’t get married or have kids until you are mid 30’s at least. Use your younger years to set yourself up for success.

Nail on the head with short term loans, me and my wife have a house 2 kids and are 34 we struggled with loans for years paying 1200pm out on different loans, we paid our last one off about 4 weeks ago and working on 3 month emergency fund. I would say lack of education was the no1 reason we aren't well ahead of the game, younger people are in a great position with all the content regarding money 👌

My guess is 25% of current annual income. But your fun (of that type) is over after 30 and you should get that. Now enjoy yourself on building wealth.
