1:40 - Stollmeyer's Castle. We performed there when they reopened to the public in 1987. Wow, such a long time ago. It's good to see it again. Thanks for posting.
Enjoyed the video. I live abroad and usually go home for Christmas. It's nice to see home from somebody else's viewpoint. It is a shame about the crime because if not for that, Trinidad would still be a paradise. But the criminal element just won't let it be that. So sad.
I'm English, born and bred, but with Trini parents and lived in Port Of Spain for nine years. What's good about T&T? Roti, Mayaro, Big Red, Doubles, Women, the Trini accent (women only, sorry!), Royal Castle, Chinese food, The Savannah, Soca. What's bad? The potholes, the beggars, the thieves, the laziness of people and a lot of people are unreliable and just don't know what timekeeping means! That's it so far! 😀
@@112nickytaylor It's safe to a point, but I haven't been there for 10+ years. It depends on where you're going to stay. Crime certainly hasn't lessened, according to my cousins who live there. Carjacking is on of the popular crimes, unfortunately. Don't wear any visible jewellery either.
@@112nickytaylor Ah ok. Don't know Palo Seco, I lived in POS for about 9 years, how I lasted that long I have no idea! I came back after my mum died. It was driving me crazy!!! Anyway, good luck!
okay now I am wishing I saw your video before going or that I looked up things before hand. Its definitely not the easiest city to navigate using public transport
Darryl Bass see if you lived in Trinidad you would be able to tell between a bullet and a stone chip on a wind screen in fact in any country you can tell the differents
compare to Global currencies rates 10 to 1 is a great exchange rate considering the Caribbean is traditionally has known as tourism/agriculture/services base economies T&T perhaps the only Caribbean country thats nt tourism dependant is an ndustrialized island try comparing JA,Guy and DR currencies to British $$$
@@factscheckeddall4221 Jamaica is 125 to US$1, Guyana is 220 to US$1. Any idea why these 2 countries have such high exchange rates and is it beneficial to them to have it this high?
Sorry but your question sounds really stupid. Pakistan people are from Pakistan. Indians are from India. People from India came to the island during British colonial times. The island is of mixed ethnicities with People of African descent and people of Indian descent being the majority
Not to sound bad, but I am wondering why this nation has not changed the name of this city? The Port of Spain seems like a VERY painful reminder of those who suffered via the ship's that docked in this region while transporting human cargo. Since freedom has occurred on this island maybe a more suitable name could be issued to reflect the atmosphere and the free hospitable residents of this beautiful island.
Did Haiti change their name for its capital city with all the horror France did to them? I guess not so why should we change our capital city name the British never bother by it either did we so why it bothering u so much??? 4/5 of Trinidad are name in Spanish should we also consider changing all those names too???
factschecked #Dall#, Oh please; if you are that bothered by my shared opinion, guess what, you ignore it. Above all, using the pathetic country of Haiti as an example of a 'post' enslaved nation, with its overt poverty and misery, fails to convince me of the point you are striving to argue; if anything, I reaffirm my statement while adding Haiti as an example of a place that NEEDS to find a new identity!!! Geez!!!
It does not capture the Magnificent 7 in Port-of-Spain and needed much caption in the Video these amateur videos does not really tell a true pix of T&T, so sad.
There are many countries in the world that are dangerous and corrupt. Let's not talk about corruption and danger in some of the biggest countries in the world much less the smaller ones. Other countries don't put everything on the front page on their newspapers, radio stations and Internet like Trinidad does. I have been there twice in recent years after not going home for years. It was amazing to see that people still tell you good morning when they come in the maxi taxis and when they see you on the street. It is amazing that people are still kind to each other. It is amazing that when I wanted pure orange juice in the supermarket that a woman who was shopping walked over about 6 aisles to show me where the juice was stacked. It is amazing that I was never attacked once and I am back home safe and sound.
Thank you for showing me the sights of Trinidad. I lived there for the first nineteen years of my life, and never saw 80% of the places you visited.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes I laughed at that. There's no value in the British money for a TT$. But $1 British dollar is worth probably about TT$9.
sorry but I'm glad £1 = around $10 tt because I'm coming to visit your island and need that to get the most out of my £!

Non Trinidadians trying give information about the country and it’s just filled with errors and misinformation 🤦🏽♂️

Trinidad and Tobago's police force is a waste of tax payers money .
They should change the name of the city to Trinity. I feel it's more appropriate--the city is beautiful. Just like the people.
Why is this white man description our black Country?
