I was employee 71 at Zoom, and have been in the tech industry for the last 15 years. Layoffs aren’t exclusive to gaming. It’s just the way of the tech world. It’s unfortunate. However, these amazing people will go to new game companies where their visions will be heard and we will have something amazing in the future.

I have no hope that respawn will beat the cheater scene. Watched a video the other day going deep into how cheaters are doing what they do to even beat Valorant's anticheat. The video is called "Hacking into Kernel Anti-Cheats: How cheaters bypass Faceit, ESEA and Vanguard anti-cheat" from Unity Research. It's kind of a long watch but it's eye opening and kind of disheartening. Definitely worth the watch if you want to get any kind of grasp on the gravity of the cheater situation.
Need to get console lobbies under control too. 90% masters/preds are using zens or strike packs. It’s so obvious when their bullets go completely straight and their reticle doesn’t move.

I heard that valorant has hardware accessible Anti-Cheat and so they don't have cheaters ( i do not play Valorant just heard from somewhere ) so a hardware level AC is probably good ( yeah the fear of getting your ip leaked is true but the valorant players don't experience it so )
I want a BR Mixtape playlist, non-holiday ones/non-IP Collab, with Three Strikes, Straight Shot, Armed & Dangerous, etc.
This would be great. I would also keep that straight shot thing with fitting 30 players into a game vs 60. Shit maybe create a unique mode that combines every loved feature. 30 players, 2 lives, and guns that are already kitted. Very fast pace br match that does not require too many people to get one going. I think adding more 60 player lobbies to fill is a bad thing. After people get bored of the LTMS that need 60 people to fill a lobby the queue times get very long. I think messing around with 30 person lobbies is the way of the future and giving us multiple lives.
They will eventually do this. I believe these new br game modes are test runs to see how popular they are.
Personally straight shot was the most fun I had in apex since season 4-5.
The fully kitted weapons was such a relief. You could just focus on fighting instead if looting
N64's Goldeneye007 had options to turn cheats on/off for each match...why not let EVERYONE have the same cheats open on cheater servers and anyone cheating get hard stuck on the cheater servers while the rest of us can play normal or join a cheater server to play evenly across the board.
N64 had all kinds of fun cheats, like paint-ball, big head, unlimited ammo, no reloads, etc...
The only way to defeat cheaters is to allow everyone to turn them on/off.

For cheaters, I honestly think all you need to do is monitor the people who have really high hit percentages and kds. If you monitor them and that falls off dramatically than you'll know right away.
What people need to start to understand is that all game Studios are doing this. And this is due to over employment that happend during Covid.

It has nothing to do with Covid or over hiring. Companies have been laying people since the crash of 2008, they say it’s because they want to cut costs…..but in reality it’s to give people who are CEO’s and higher up’s an extra pay boost for their bonuses. Greed is what’s killing the job market, and it’s been killing games since then as well

it makes sense if you follow the money, its not just black and white, its more complicated than that so yeah, they have been hiring and firing. They have multitude of accountants to make sure it can happen. Being layed off is not somehting that is normal in general ask any other country and being layed off is something that only happens when companies shut down, not to "balance the books" America makes it look normal when its not. so yes follow the money and everything else will make sense

@@fidelcarrillo5271 Yes, but this is due to over hiring. Since ppl got locked down, they got bored so social media, streaming and gaming skyrocketed. So, they had to hire more in order to be able to uphold the demand of usage of each platform. This is not only game studios but also was majority of already stated points. Its shitty, but also reality. As soon ppl start to go back to their lives, the demand for usage shrinks and thus over employment.

I think we are in the endgame for online shooters, I'm trying enjoy it for now but I am giving it 18months before any non cheaters want to play them. Then it will be back to solo mission based shooters

I don’t spend any money on Apex because:
I’m on console, and I’m always running into people with strike packs, reverse boosters, and smerf accounts.
I haven’t for years, nor will I ever in the future spend any money in Apex because instead of fixing the game (priority 1) they keep adding cash grab content. They wouldn’t have to do that if they just made the game enjoyable and fair, I would happily spend money.
I work in a factory and have been getting the feeling they are crunching the budget there as well, even in automotive. Has been absolutely miserable the last few months, people got suspended for putting elastics on other peoples hats as a joke. Future isn't looking too bright :( bots on socials spreading hate and causing division... I'm sure someone, or something benefits from that. Not us.
EA can't sell skins if no one plays their game because everyone is cheating. Let's see how this plays out :P
they have had "hide-a-cheat" function for a while in apex and what i mean by that is that as soon as you start to spectate their cheats will turn off untill you arent spectating anymore so i just make sure to watch till they die just to make sure they die in game.
I see a lot of comments about the staff at Respawn. On one hand, I'm reading they need to hire more people to fix issues. On the other hand, I'm seeing people say they need to fire people, making the remaining people work harder. EA executives are looking out for themselves and shareholders, dev studios be damned. Them laying off people makes it worse because that means less staff to work on issues. As for hiring people, the games industry isn't enticing. 8100 people have been laid off, and the pay is substandard compared to the rest of tech. When your favorite game is on hard times, look at the leadership. Oftentimes, their values don't align with our values.
Not having to be in the loading menu very long was one of my absolute favorite things.... it's making it really difficult to want to go back to regular BR 😢
if they could just invest a bit in private servers and allow us to create cheater free lobby's with our friends

You know how hard some of those developers worked to get apex at its current state. Arguably the best states it's been in four a while. Only to then get laid off. It's so fucked up.

I recently fought in a 1v1 vs an obvious cheater.. dude didn't know that Sheila minigun can break the doors. Maybe he should've bought some game sense along with those cheats.
It’s funny because you do layoff when you can’t afford to keep employees, however with ea, they have more money than ever so they do layoffs because the executives want even more money, eventually I think it’ll get to a point where even though they’re making unreal amounts of money, it doesn’t meet their ‘expectations’ until the studio shuts down and the execs walk away with it all.

bans are like chain link fences, you just hop right back over, there is no real punishment, a ban is a limitless slap on the wrist, not even.
If there's any other ranked mode it should be solos. Your player base increases when you don't need to find other people to play with.

NGL at this point, i think taking out the cheaters would probably mean a majority of the player base would get nuked..Which the devs OBVIOUSLY don't want so it wont happen. Because i don't understand why they aren't just IP banning these people and being done with it.. There's their solution..
Umm would admins actually watching live games starting with ranked would help rust does this and it works. When we play on storm point and shoot down a flyer you notice that theres a developer badge on the death box banner so why can't there be a group hired like a security force watching live rank matches with access to everyone's accs dealing out a series of live bans each day. It wouldnt be an immediate fix because cheaters could just make new accounts but if live bans were dealt out then cheaters would just be spending majority of the time making new accounts and with the pros pointing out the cheaters that hide it would work for a bit till cheating is better hidden
I kno my opinion won't be popular but it's one of the only things that will stop teaming and some what force teams to communicate. You partially stop teaming by ending party chat/third party comms (discord) I. Ranked. There should only be party chat. If you don't want to speak don't speak or disable game mic if u stream but there should be NO KIND OF PARTY CHAT IN RANKED. THERE SHOULD ONLY BE GAME CHAT. I literally fought a 9+ team in a diamond lobby yesterday. That's cheating and every single player should be banned.

@@fukkandre game chat is fine. It has issues sometimes but it's literally programmed for best communication. And multiplayer games program their games to have great in game chat. And if ppl get voice banned it's their own fault for not being able to conduct themselves in a mature manner and being toxic. If ppl want to be in partychat/discord/third party chat then play pub. It should not be allowed in ranked at all. I find it dumb when both of my teammates are in a party chat yet they clearly hear me communicating yet they chose not to come out their dumb party chat or equivalent of. Lost so many games that way. I'm tired of it. It's a team game that requires communication yet allows 3rd party chats to be used to exclude ppl on their own team from communicating. It's fine in pub but makes no sense to have in ranked.
I knew I wasn't crazy. I've never seen it this bad. However I will admit I've had a few games today that weren't so bad. But for the most part, most of the time when I die and I spectate, you can clearly see they are cheating. That one guy destroys the lobby not missing a shot. Or the matchmaking is horrible where it's 3 stacks and etc but I have braindead bozos for teammates. I keep trying to hang in there but it's exhausting and unfair. It feels like being robbed or just genuinely being done wrong. Like bullying.

Sadly enough without a anticheat as intrusive and effective as vanguard cheats will stay readily available at low prices. Meaning more people can afford too buy these cheats and use them.
I see people all the time complaining about how intrusive vanguard is and still saying they need a less intrusive but as effective one which is simply impossible. You need a intrusive anticheat to detect intrusive cheats because cheats will do anything and be as intrusive as possible to bypass anticheats.

Cheaters could be detected easily but i think it is accepted that people cheats. ApexLegends is like a House with a lock and glas windows, anyone could just take a stone and get in. To detect cheaters, they need definitely the double amount of hardware and no company would invest/pay for this.

Yer sure i se that on avent now people are doing 20 bombs new accounts and blocking people to enter ore they have made their own serv people can´t conect seem not afect me but 50 people i know, and not to mention my 4 seasion predator is still not banned now for 3 years GJ even if you mange to patch one loop it takes top 10min/24/h for people to be back again you never stop thing´s that people earn money on not even the dog shit ftp cheats you stop that is saying somting ke they use this and bost 2 frends get ban and be back in few min to do the same again so long you don´t take action for the ones geting bosted this is never gonna be gone.

Literally the ONLY thing that we (the player) can do is to intentionally not take ranked seriously (which defeats the entire point of a “ranked” mode).
That’s just the state of things. It makes no sense for players to practice and put in legitimate effort, only to get dumped on by people using cheats, game after game after game.
It’s simply not worth taking seriously at all.

Its hard to believe there are hackers out there that do this for fun, but respawn or ea cant hire some of them to program a detection system to counter the cheating issues....I'm not smart enough to do it, but I'm sure someone is. Its duscouraging investing in a game in a state of uncertainty. It was a great game...I'd like to see it hit their 10 year projection, but I'm afraid its going to fall short of that goal line.
I actually remember a company hiring a hacker to stop hackers and he released all private information of the company twice. It's honestly possible to stay ahead of hackers/ cheaters banks and companies can, it's just A LOT of money to be invested and that's what these companies need to do, but it really is a lot of money to invest.
This is different, the cheaters arent breaking into the code to alter their game and get aimbot, they are buying cheats online, hiring them would be like hiring a normal person, and they cant hire the people who make those cheats bc those people (sometimes) make millions from the thousands that buy their cheats.
@@rockargen9591 it's still the same thing, there are fire walls and many other techniques to prevent stuff like that. They are still having outside sources to hack the game, which is why you don't see a lot of PlayStation hacks because they made their whole servers complicated to hack into.

Very disappointed to hear they cancelled the Star Wars FPS. A FPS with actual substance developed by Respawn has been my dream for years. A well-made mandalorian game with Apex movement 😫 that’s what we needed. Not another lackluster SW game where you: can’t make significant choices to impact the story. Can’t create a character. Can’t choose your alignment. Can’t choose your fighting style. If you want good SW games STOP PLAYING JEDI SURVIVOR -_-

Respawn needs to move more of the game logic to the servers so that client-side hacks are less effective. Also, they need to apply AI cheat detection. Of course those all cost money, so it's almost a guarantee that EA won't do it.
