Absolutely agreed. As a Detroit fan of that time, Mark Price was one of those guys that you just had to respect his game. Had his health held up, he’d be a top 10, possible a top 5 PG of all-time. A phenomenal player.

@@gregoryone90 It's the rule changes. Zone defenses, Soft fouling, relaxed traveling rules have all changed the game. The 80s were primarily focused on the low post game, which is not the focus today. People didn't shoot the 3 like they do today. I think that is what the OP is trying to describe by saying "pure basketball." Also, there are many players - especially shooters - who would benefit by all of the rule changes today. A guy like Bird would flourish in today's game - he'd get the benefit of better training and medicine and he could shoot outside all day. He'd also get the benefit of the zone defense rule as he could more easily leave his man to swarm and jump in passing lanes - one of his specialties. It would better hide the fact that he was an average man-to-man defender.

This team would never work do to egos and needing the ball in their hands, but it is the best, I think. 1 will shock. Big to small. Center is the most skilled traditional center of all-time: Wilt Chamberlain. Best power forward came out of college as a center, but because of David Robinson, he played as a power forward: Tim Duncan. Best traditional small forward needs to score inside and out, rebound and shoot free throws. Passing ability doesn't hurt: Larry Bird. Shooting guard. If the goat never played in the NBA Kobe would surely be here: Jordan. Best tradition point guard. Phenonemal defender and a triple double machine. Why does he get overlooked?: Jason Kidd. 3 of these players would play well together and 2 not. Guess which 2. Best 6 man: Magic Johnson. We know he is good, but not a great defender. Great leader, but so was Kidd. Lebron James. Despite his amazing ability to drive to the basket, which also facilitates his passing and assists is Inconsistent on defense, is a poor outside shooter and is an average freethrow shooter puts him behind Bird at small forward, but we do need him on the team.
