This whole section wouldn't be NEARLY as difficult as it is if every damn corner wasn't rounded and coated in fuckin grease. I have failed so many attempts because I landed on a flat or even SQUARE platform with a seemingly rounded collision box that has pushed me off to my death.

I can’t pass through the first part. After watching this I literally just gave up on completing the game. Some of the puzzles have these ridiculous design. Not to mention that collision system is clunky and you often bounce off the top of a pillar. The controls kinda ruin this good game
This is prolly the hardest puzzle of the game. Most of the puzzles are much more easier.

PoP is still more Painfull though, hands still hurt just by thinking about it!

Everyone I found a trick that makes part one easier. Get the devil's heel move from dis and use when you get right above each step. Your momentum immediately halts making landing a bit easier.

I think the only purpose of platforming in this game is to piss people off. Why else would you implement it in a game with isometric POV where it is impossible to gauge distance half the time. If it was 2D or top-down I would understand but this is just a big nope.

Any other platformer, this would be easy-peasy but thanks to the isometric perspective and that absolutely atrocious inertia you suffer through, this particular puzzle set is hair-pullingly infuriating.
If you start shoot right before you land you can have a slowed control landing. Honestly made it a lot easier! Hope this helps anybody

After hours of trying to do this, i give up. Playing this on pc with a keyboard is actually the worsted thing ive ever done. Between the sliding off the pillars on the fist part because they have rounded edges and miss-judging how far my character will front flip to land on them, to the second part and having a stroke figuring out the depth of the jumps, to that STUPID third section where i thought it was glitched until seeing a comment about a pattern. On top of the janky parkour mechanics that dont work half the time, just fuck this game.
Athanatos it’s a really good game... but yeah, the parkour really needs some work, and not just for this part.

The Outer God It’s not the keyboard, it’s the mouse. Some people unadjust so bad that mice become unbearable to game with. I’m adjusting back myself

For anyone wondering if they should attempt this, there seem to have been some improvements, maybe later additions:
- There are pseudo checkpoints along the third path, in the form of blue launch orbs. Appreciated
- There's a guide online that tells you how the third section panels work during the three-floor part. On the first row, every second tile is fake. On the second row, it's every third tile. On the third row, every fourth tile (can do it the same way as the first row if you do every fourth there as well). Knowing this makes the challenge WAY easier as it removes the stupid trial and error
- During the last vertical part, if you'd fall off you can spam air attacks with Strife to give yourself just enough hang time to recover with some acrobatics in the air. You'll need all the relevant moves unlocked for this though
- The best part is that while the Leviathan core isn't special stat wise, it changes your looks! If you equip it you'll be surrounded by lightning arcs. It's freaking cool! I love that they did this initially or added it later, not sure. Still, awesome!
I love how it is technically not hard to do any of these but the game is so unpolished and has so many glitches that it is near impossible to do it... got my 100% completion anyway
why would they implement this? I almost trashed my controller. And I am still at the first part

it's a poor attempt for an endgame. I hope they won't shove this platforming bs down our throats in the next installment and focus more on combat and puzzle gameplay.
I’m currently on the third part but think the first part was the most frustrating, it’s helps if u keep the same pattern every try cause your brain remember how to land on each pillar, still took me an 90min first part, almost same for 2nd

This was both awesome and infuriating. It was reminiscent of how games used to be before they got dumbed down. I thought section 1 was the hardest and section 3 was the easiest (though the checkpoints were really appreciated!).
It's all about when to do standing jumps and forward jumps,also I slid more from the pillars than her DMs, also also try aerial attacks with Strife to fall in place

You can use the snake to jump over the whole vertical tile section. saves time and controllers, bless up

Took me several tries on the Leviathans Maze, but I finally got to part 3. Now just to get through that nightmare though the wall jump section acts wonky on consoles for some reason.
You can skip the entire part 3 by using wars infinite blade geyser glitch to climb the wall to the leviathan core. Look up video: Darksiders Genesis - Skip Leviathan's Landing Challenge 3 + Easy Challenge 2
I honestly think that the first section is the hardest... a close second is the very end with the vertical platforms.

It took me two days (mostly because the last part when you have to jump up several times and each time faster) Your video gave me the strength xD
Tip: if you use your air kick you can stay on the air long enough to get the platforms again so you don't need to restart with every fail HAHJA

@@scienceofone The last part of the whole puzzle. There are several platforms on top of each other and you have to jump to the side-up and then back to the center to get over the next platform.
You should know which part it is once you arrive. You can see the section at the minute 2:50 of the video.
Yep that’s how I beat the last part lmao, was air kicking like hell while the platforms reappeared under me 😆
It maybe funny that for me the imposible part is just that last ladder, they even made a fkn update that fixed some bullcrap with platforms and still, i always bump into damn rock/higher platform before i get a chance and then i gotta do so again and again probably i passed around 100 "try"s, so thing is i have to get to that damn ladder first, which is so much shit due to this platforms being the same and after frustration overload i mess them up and instead of skiping 1 tile i skip 2, so i fall.
That last part can be reached in 20 secs from Vulgrim location if you backtrack to the trickster door to his right climb the pillars and then change your jump and attack button layout in options to the same button.

@@GreenPawelito been awhile but from what I remember once you change both the jump and attack button to the same button, get it to the point where the jump is activated first once you are in the air, at the peak of the jump tap the same button again till you get the attack to kick in, I believe this only works for War. Once he starts hacking n slashing hit the button a 3rd time and his jump should work. What you are trying to get is jump to lift him, attack to maintain him in the air, and jump again to jump in the air from where he was attacking to make it to the top of that pillar. Keep trying till you get that combo to work. I think after 5 attempts I was able to make it. Good luck

For the People who dont noticed it, there is an Update with Checkpoints and i think the stepstones stay know for longer time. Now its possible to do this :D
They did add an air current in the third section to the right of the first cliff next to the tile. IDK if this didn't show up until the wall run, but it was there after for sure, so I could go straight to the tile part. *edit* they added a couple of air currents. The one previously mentioned, and another to the right of the first row of tiles, so at least you don't have to do all three rows after every fail!

I hate how people are complaining about this part. Like come on man alot of the games back in the days was like this or even harder. You don't even have to do it to complete the story. It's just there for a good challenge. Wish they had more of these challenges honestly lol

For the first row, every second tile is solid. I tested it myself.
I watched Seagull (Streamer) on twitch playing this... there was a viewer who said this to him after finishing a mission _("If you want REAL FUN, go to the bottom left corner of the Hub, you will enjoy it")_ The sick bastard... But anyway, after 5+ hour i remember he saying _"I bet there are already speed runners who already beated this crap"_ Or something like that.... LMAO
I would love to see his face, watching someone that beated the maze in 3m against his 5+ hour lmao
P.S..: I donno why but in my game i can't see the "leviathan" itself, in fact the whole void area is so fuzzy, i donno why is that, every Graphic setting is maxed out... I was so excited to get in there and see the thing myself, but... i could have only listen to his grunts...
He didn't beat it in 3 minutes. The cuts are evident.
He took the clips where he succeded and put them together...
If you think any one person can do each of these three sections in 3 min each (much less trial by error 1 hr) then the point of this being a vid and not a livestream eludes you

The part after 1:00 is one of the stupidest things I have ever tried to do in a game, and I grew up in the 80's arcade games, which is what this reminded me of, only this was much more insanely hard. First of all, I don't think the game's own controls aren't even made for this kind of precision jumping, second, I got stuck all over the place around the game which means there isn't proper collision detection in this game which maybe doesn't have to do anything with this but I'm just venting :) Lastly, save your sanity...and possibly your controller and search for "Darksiders Genesis Cheat Engine Table v1.0" by "COLONELRVH."
this part was surely designed by some Japanese guy :D maybe a stray developer from From Software on a lunch break lol
seems like the wall run works a hell of alot better on PC than on console cause it effing sucks, at least on PS4, not to mention the jump controls
not a question about the platforming but what creature core do you have equipped that is giving you a lighting aura effect?

I went ahead and equipped that core but it did not yeild the desired out come. I am assuming it had to do with a creature core because the Shieldbearer gives you the blue shield around your horsemen. I did try and equipping on or the other too but that didn't really amount to anything. No worries though I was simply curious about it. It may be tied to a milestone rather than a creature core I dunno. Thank you for your help and your guides!
EDIT: I just got a Leviathan Core and it has a similar visual effect but its different that what you have in the video, so I found that out.
You’re welcome, glad to help. It’s just a guess but if you’re playing on certain graphic settings it might not show visual effects like that. However, maybe I’m wrong here. Maybe the lightning effect is from the abyssal armor but I’m pretty sure it’s from the Dagon creature core hmm

Hey, I would recommend to finish the game first before doing this. Im not sure, but I think you can do it after Chapter 10. Anyways, this can be very frustrating so its better to enjoy the full game first :D
@@goodgamez I think you already can do it after Chapter 5, because I tried the first part yesterday and failed miserably. Today I failed at the stacked platforms, because the collision is not good and I'm still on Chapter 6.

You know what’s f-ing stupid. The fact that the platforms also float slightly up and down. You have to wait for them to hover lower. As the level wasn’t stupid enough in the first place.

You mean the Super Mario part? The secret is that you have to count the platforms - on the first row you can jump on every fith brick (3 inbetween), on the second level its every fourth brick (two inbetween) and on the last it is again every fifth brick (3 inbetween)

@@Dtikwa yeah, it can get very frustrating but take a break once i a while .. it helped at least for me :D - also beware that the controls are sometimes bugged but your best option is to play with a controller. you will figure out how the specific parts will work with muscle memory :)
@@goodgamez thanks man and yeah the first part i did in 30 seconds after i was done was just double jumping all over the place haha :') the second part was the easier of the three i feel but first gotta finish the third one before i can say that haha, but nearly 100% the game got all the stores fully purchased did the arena really easily and now going for the apocalyptic both characters are 1380 which isnt too bad

Trying to get just core 1 I already spent almost 2hrs or more!
This is my favorite Darksiders game but I will admit I have very little interest in the platforming puzzle pieces like this. I'd rather have had more levels and characters over these puzzle pieces. I get some people love these but I don't play the games for tedious jumping puzzles. I play them to be one of the 4 Horsemen fighting everyone. I'm just not into game design that is intended to piss people off, even if a small subset love the challenge. Rest of the game was great though.
I'm not doing this... I wanted to try and complete everything possible but I'm not doing this... It's nothing more than a sick joke... Does the Core provide anything else besides an Atk buff after being max out?
I want to give up on this shit so bad but im determined to get the platinum trophy. The devs really screwed up this one
@@ryanm8764 I don't think you need this for Plat. You only need the first core, which with a few attempts, you get within 20 mins

I completly don't understand why is it so hard for so many people, I've just done this in less than 90 minutes, I did it all without any hints or guides. The perspective was more fun for me than frustrating.
PS. I am not a hardcore platform games player whatsoever, I am typical normal player. It really was easy for me, after ending this maze i fell like it should be much harder, maybe without so many checkpoints, especially in 3rd stage. ;)
One of the problems is the isometric view. If really doesn't lend well to the platforming in this.
I would take the same amount of time i did to finish the game..... To finish JUST the first bit :'(

On a side not - This is not a speedrun. A speedrun has to be a single try or multiple tries without editing. You have clearly cut out the times you failed, making it impossible to see how long it actually took you to complete the challenge. Therefore - not a speedrun, just a tutorial.

Bro I’m just smashing my fucking face against concrete at the tail end section.. I’m at the disappearing little platforms that you have to jump real quick from.. and are some of them invisible and some aren’t? Cuz I can get decent jumps off some of them but then I just fall right through others, I don’t get it. I’m so close but I’m about to give tf up lol
