I'm officially insane and finished it on console. I have to say, whom ever came up with this jumping puzzle is a Mario Brothers speed run masochist. I'm so tired of counting tiles. Here are some of my notes for the 3rd run.
The wall jumping is set to the spiral patterns on the wall. Do a single jump grabbing onto the left wall first. As he's letting go of the wall jump to the right and it's smooth going from there.
The counting tiles is BS.
When you see the Leviathan flying toward the screen and you pan to the left he will fly through the wall and attempt to push you off... Because he hates you.
Dropping down after seeing the Leviathan is actually much easier than it appears. They are lined up in a way that you can jump into the side of one platform to stop your momentum and perfectly land on the one below. If it's your first time, aim out and the camera will show you more of what's below you.
The final ladder up... The first thing you should know is the edges of every platform seem rounded. Try to land in the middle as best you can and don't glide. It'll activate the platform then slide you off one side or the other. The platforms also seem to dissipate at a slightly faster rate the higher up you go.
Final note, don't give up. You've made it this far you might as well see it to the end.
If you're one of the developers, I hate you.
I had the same mentality with this jumping puzzle, should better finish it and help people to show how because this was so mind breaking it made me crazy, good job dude for finishing it as well.

So a mini exploit is, as Strife, you can spam Devil's heel and stay airborne while you wait for platforms to respawn, mainly useful on steps 2 (counting blocks) and 4 (vertical jumping is made very easy due to the fact that touching the sides of the block will make them disappear and you're able to spam the move to just float there and then waiting for the platform below to respawn then it's a simple jump up to the next block from there.) of the last Core.

3 Years later, you actually spam the Devil's heel you eventually die/reset (like when you jump off a cliff) I tried in on a totally flat surface in the void. Very bizarre

@@GamesGridNetwork I couldn't do the first one. After so many tries I just gave up on that last "Collector" acheivement and deleted the game.
Impossible to do on the Nintendo switch.
A very useful tip - slow the game speed in your settings, that will definitely help

Also using strifes guns to suspend yourself in the air is very useful on the final ladder because if gives the platforms time to respawn.

thank you so much for this guide! the last part where platforms are floating above each other is a NIGHTMARE! I had to slow down my game in settings to 50%, but doing this run on mouse and keyboard is ridiculously hard. ALSO, that shadow blob under Strife is BARELY visible on PC (max settings), and it's rarely a circle, usually it's fully detailed shadow.
Quite possible the most stressful game I've ever played, I'm surprised I've 1. Not had a heart attack 2. Gone on a killing spree myself 3. Not smashed my TV 4. Not broken my controller. Whoever designed this part is a psychopath 😭😭

cheers man for the help only did 1st part for the core and the trophy! this is legitimately THE WORST platforming section i have ever played in my life!! laggy controls and some bugged platforms took me 2 hours of tries to get it. now i am DONE. the designer who did this puzzle should get fired seriously it not challenging it is just unfair and the controls are not made for this in this game!!!
took me 4 weeks to complete the whole thing and then had to do it again for the video but I got it all in my mucle memory so it was way easier the second time X)

you do it like it so easy, took me 1 hour for the first part, 2 hours for the 2nd part, and 2 hours for the last part.
probably one of the hardt jump puzzle I ever did while mostly I'm pretty good and love challenge in those, but I can
tell this is one of the most worsed jump puzzle I ever did, good thing, this need to be done only once :)

Heck yeah, thanks for the info! I probably spent a good hour or two going to the left because I had the bright idea to go the way the leviathan was going lol. I haven't finished it yet but I feel ok that I might be able to do it sometime tonight or tomorrow hahaha...I read people saying this Is the worst platforming puzzle they've done....they must not have played a little gem of a game called 'The Messenger' awesome game, but one of the trophys needed is called "I swear that was my 1st time" and it entails going through an entire level in pitch black dark, like you might as well turn your TV off dark....the only way I could do it was to watch someone run through it with the candle and draw my own little blueprint of the level...then about 6-8 straight hours of trial and error until I finally did it...best believe I have that video saved 😅 as bad as it sucked I can say 2 things, 1, it felt like beating...idk maybe lady butterfly in sekiro (took me 2 weeks to beat that old hag) and 2nd I was proud of myself for not smashing one controller the whole time I I did it lol!
The game isn't really a platformer and when they put something like this in it, well it is quite annoying more then fair to get through it. doing this the first time took me a lot of time and hate as well like everyone it seems hahaha, but good thing you haven't yet messed up your controller to do this puzzle and also I am a huge fan of sekiro so mate you good x)
Didn't bother with block counting on part three either, just double jump glide spammed my way across!

For the 3rd part 3:30 repeat the jump 3:28 you did to get to the first square 2 more times, it's almost the full length of the jump and harder to miss due to having less chances to fail, it works for the other 2 also, start the jump from the first square and repeat the distance
Every time I feel like I get better at 1 part of the puzzle, I always mess up the previous parts. I think I might do this quest last
Yeah this is the hardest frustrating thing in the game so best leave it to last so you can still enjoy the game before attempting the puzzle :)
@@GamesGridNetwork I was planning on doing this quest last ,but I came across few problems
1. I feel like if I do it later, I'll forget how to get past some of the obstacles, and it will become more frustrating. I did somewhat improved, but I'm stuck on the last part where you have to go up
2. Most of the other quest that I have left to do pretty much requires me to replay the story ( Which I don't mind, but I don't want to reply the story after I just completed it, so I'll do that some other time)
The good thing is I do have the 3rd core thanks to a glitch, but I wish the glitch helped me complete the quest
Clearly the dev who designed this monstrosity of a "puzzle" took a course in "how to ruin a good game with a frustratingly unfair bs platforming section."
Even slowing the speed right down Strife just keeps on sailing past the tiny columns in the 1st section, like he's on some tragic slip & slide, as I watch him flail towards his inevitable doom - in slow motion - until the purple flames transport him to the beginning of what can only be described as a Hell-loop. Slowing the speed can be helpful at first, but it also prolongs this nightmare.
I love the Darksiders games and I usually enjoy the puzzles, but this is just ridiculous. I take it there are no checkpoints? If so, I've certainly never reached one. Couple that with terrible camera angles & laggy controls. Just no. Thanks for the video anyway (rant over, lol).
It has 2 more sections after that one and well they are even more harder x) but you will get a checkpoint before each section but anyway it is better to ignore this puzzle and enjoy the game.
I totally agree! The impression I have is that they were just adding ridiculous hard things just to make extremely hard to get the platinum. This jump puzzle and the fucking spark ball controls are there just to make as suffer for the platinum, because it doesn’t interfere at all with the game.

jfc, so I got the drop shadow thing down so landing on the narrow pillars for the most part isn't difficult anymore. But the freaking DISTANCE on the last few is absolutely killer. Can't gauge how best to jump the distance at all.
I'm convinced the developer for this whole puzzle was applying for position as a developer for a platforming game and then realised the weekend before their interview they had never worked on a platformer before and so hashed this together so they could put it on their application.
Somehow this game has managed to simultaneously give our character the fattest and slipperiest feet in existence.
it is because the movement is to cluncky for a smooth platforming so you can't be precise so it sucks hard

I couldn't even get passed the first part but I used the wall glitch to get the third one so at least i got the core for the each type achievement now all i need is the trickster boss

I stayed calm up until the very last section jumping straight up. I had to call it a night there.

A tip I have (one I developed myself after trying the last ladder thing for hours)
If you use strifes guns to suspend yourself in the air for as long as they'll let you then the platforms below you will have enough time to respawn making it so you lose less progress and dont have to make that treck back in probably slow motion

Oh yeah, this one's been mentioned already but I'll mention it here to, if you go in the setting there's a setting to slow the game down entirely, this makes the stupidity MUCH easier. You'll go just as insane because now every time you fail the treck back takes like 5 times longer (either that or your constantly going in and out of the menue) but it's still helpful.
does it work at the very end in the 3rd section though then it would be really usefull and slow motion ye I guess it can help you but it will take longer.

Nice man!!! Your crazypoints are infinity ^^. the last bit was the hardest for me2 but once you are in the flow you will do those backflips like a champ!
I would understand if this core gave you infinite chaos/anarchy mode but its just a 10% increase.. Looks like too much trouble.
Well this is still the best core to get if you got all 3 cores it gives 10% to damage, health, wrath. The other cores don't even give you this much.

Two ULTRA VALUABLE TIPS for anyone trying this SHITY quest, i've done it after like 2 hours trying it (the 3rd part)
After you unlock the checkpoints, what you want to do is:
Pass the false platforms the same way this guy shows in the video (stay shooting more time if you don't feel confident to shoot just one single time, take your own time).
The rounded rocks part is SUPER EASY, seriously. Just do like this: as soon as you finish the false platform section, don't even wait for the leviathan, just jump forward and keep going for rocks close to the right portion of the puzzle, just fall fast and shoot, fall fast and shoot, trust me, after you memorize the rocks position you'll do that section with one hand. It's a piece of cake.
As for the last (and really annoying part of the puzzle) part of the challenge, theres a SUPER TRICK he doesn't mention in the video. The thing is, if you're jumping and by any chance YOU MESS UP and fail, DON'T PANIC. Just start mashing the strife's air kick button (i think Q is the standart button). This will make strife spam a lot of kicks in the air and almost freeze in position (almost, he still falls in a very slow pace). This 'trick' will actually give you a chance to keep trying over and over if you fall from a dissapearing platform. Mash Q, try again, fail, mash Q, try again. The 'floating' will give you the time until the platforms reappear again.

Answer: *yes*
I did beat this a while ago, partly thanks to this and similar guides!
In the floating rock portion of the 3rd puzzle you can also double jump then glide, which allows you to jump exactly 12 rocks.
This method requires essentially 0 skill and works flawlessly on all 3 layers of the floating rock puzzle.
If you do it correctly you will land on exactly this piece of stone on the first level, which can be identified by the markings on the wall here:

@@GamesGridNetwork you need to delay the second jump by a tad bit, just before you're about to lose the vertical momentum from the first jump, then just hold space to let the wings do its work. It's been working quite consistently for me and is what carried me through the third stage tbh lol

Did you use any movement speed enhancing cores for the secondstage of the puzzle? For some reason I cant make that jump at 2:16 , didnt manage to get on top of that platform even once so far... So frustrating!
I really can't remember that but the game is kinda wierd where you can jump of platforms just at the second you are about to fall down from the edges. try to jump from the edged on platforms you might be able to reach it then.

I'm up to phase 3 being doing it for like 5 hours already. Major question the final checkpoint and the portal can you leave game and use the portal to continue on? Or have to restart
Yes you can use the portal to get back to the start of the 3th part
I HATE the red herring platforms in part 2, it’s bad enough that they abuse these clunky controls with bad camera angles but it’s worse when you find a floating rock on the left that you can easily get to, only to realize you screwed up and need to start again

Just finished this. Took about 3 hours. I found this harder than the White Palace on Hollow Knight and Whisper of the Worm on destiny 2 and not for good reasons. A jumping puzzle designed like this has no place in a game like darksiders genesis, poor depth perception, sluggish controls, poorly designed platforms that don't work well with the games physics (just gliding over blocks, bouncing off things). Being a bit of a completionist, this took my enjoyment of the game down a fair bit, same with the ether spark puzzles (although they weren't too bad).
Also I now have to cook my gf dinner as she spent the last 3 hours hearing me come up with some very colourful language about the Devs of this game.

I can't do the bit at 3:40, I've watched a load of playthrough's and I just can't seem to jump high enough to get on the step between the first 2 rows of collapsing stones, am I doing something wrong?
hmm yeah it is kinda tricky but you have to double jump very late to just get the extra hight

There are no controls other than shooting that allow me to stop myself in the air.

Man im doing this with a keaboard and when hovering in air i need to change direction i press 2 buttons and THAT disables the shooting and stoping trick....its too mutch
I would call it quits if I had to do it with keyboard maybe chance the button layout so it works better
It's funny...The game actually plays really well and all the parkour/grapple/movement mechanics are pretty decent throughout, especially when fighting. But then you get into these puzzles and it's like the game forgot that you can do those things. I got to the third platform with the jumping, and I literally could not do the wall to wall jump. It kept glitching and wouldn't run up the wall as I was facing directly at it.
yeah the wall climbing is kinda bugged there you might switch to War though he seems not to glitch that often when doing those wall climbs.
What the hell is with the updraft you unlock on the third part, it doesn't even put you high enough to get over the damn wall.

Do you need any of the boatman coins after the first leviathan core for any trophy?
I don't really know for sure you need it for completing all challenges but I had all upgrade with boatcoins left. but I think you will need to leviathan core anyway so better to grab those boatcoins as well there is only 1 in each parts of the puzzle.

Do the cores respawn or something? you need 3 cores just to get to Lvl 2. How many more to lvl 3?
they do not respawn you will need to get to the end to get the max 3rd rank.

Everytime I do that wall jump up going from one side to the other under the spike I just slide down... did developers put slime there cos why the hell do I keep sliding and not climbing when I jump from left to right?!

how did you manage to wall run, it is literally the most infuriating thing I've done in a video game. It just glides my character into the side of the wall and this game doesnt specify how to actually do it at any point prior.
I had also troubles with the wall run... then I tried it with War an this is just sooooo easy with War, I couldn't believe it how long i tried this with Strife -_-
Yeah I had some bugs while I was wall running with strife I was lucky within the video that all of them went smoothly but it works beter with War so it seems, I first did the wall running with him and it wasn't buggy at all.
I finally beat it. This part of the game is really BS and it was really not worth it, but I want to 100% the game for some reason

After about 3 hours i made it to the 3rd part. The wall jumping is broken beont believe. 9/10 times i just fall or slide down, get stopped by the background in mid air or just fall randomly. The bullshit with the platforms after that is just impossible, if you need about 10-20 minutes for another try.
Now, after about 6 hours of this bullshit, i gave up. Fuck this shit.

What system did you use?
Darksiders as a series is popular because of its environmental puzzles, among other things. There is nothing fucking worse than creating a platforming puzzles from isometric perspective with no ability to move a camera AT ALL. It's just impossible to judge the proper distance, height, angle, DEPTH.. nothing... It's all trial and error until you finally remember it and execute it perfectly... I did it on Xbox, all 3 stages but holy fuck man... I remember doing Pitioss dungeon in FF15, this is way worse.

They should have added more chapters and more cool bosses to acquire more weapons and war should be a more aggressive look and costume in more detail

Faster to finish a no hit run of bloodborne than to complete this trash "puzzle" Just glad the main game didn't contain this crap and that level 3 isn't needed for the platinum.

Whoever okayed this in the development needs to be fucking fired. This is very bad game design and is so infuriating that it's not worth the effort. It isn't challenging, it's tedious.
