that kickstand sticking out from it's place killed my desire for the product. Plus, the sound of shoulder buttons.
I play my switch mostly in handheld, which has caused my joy cons to disconnect from my switch even thought they’re still locked in place. The nitrodeck completely erases that problem it is a little bulky but honestly comfortable. I’m excited to use it even more now!
hows that been working for ya? i like how th nitro deck has a bunch of different colors. I do see that they recently made the Pro. so im stumped on what to get. i do want one in order to play in handheld better. i own a satisfy grip but have been using that for yeaaars. i wanna change it up now. Whats your take on this and the price?
@@alz397 Im still really enjoying it! I mostly play handheld and it’s definitely been worth it. I only have the first model but I’d recommend the pro, it has pretty much all the same features and a few extras but they fixed some of the button/stick layout to make it more ergonomic. I got the travel case with it and I literally take it everywhere and it’s still holding up well. No stick drift, laggy/sticky buttons. It’s worth it and a much better alternative than joycons if you play majority in handheld. Without a doubt best accessory I’ve bought for my switch

Please make one for the Switch 2! I love the design of this but I feel its a bit late to invest in accessories for my Switch at this point.
So many handhelds and grip addons with loud ass buttons. The shoulder buttons are usually the worst. It makes it impossible to play with someone else in the room, especially at night. I wish the designers would pay more attention to the noise issue. Apart from the official Switch joycons the Miyoo Mini Plus, Anbernic RG353P, and Logitech G Cloud are the only ones I've found so far that are night-gaming friendly (and I've tried A LOT!)
Split Pad Compacts, and Pros usually don't rattle.
I got mine the other day. The reach between joystick and face buttons is a tad bit uncomfortable even with rather large hands. Besides that, I love it. The SNES scheme is beautiful

The Gamcube deco I could take or leave. But I do like the idea of the bottom bar connecting the sides, my joycon rails are a bit loose and it makes the whole console feel wobbly.
Got mine in the mail yesterday. If you have small-medium hands like me, this thing will be the most premium grip you've ever held. No other third party grip that ive tried comes close. The concerns about the right stick have been put to rest for me. Its plenty comfortable where it is. Could it be higher? Sure. But as it is its no problem.
I'm definitely gonna need to pick up one of these. I play mostly in handheld mode, so this looks real nice
Seems pretty cool. Been keeping up with it these past few weeks but the loudness of the buttons is actually very off putting.
Those triggers are way too loud....I'd go nuts.

@@RetroDodo That and I already have a really nice grip. It fits around the entire switch to make it more comfortable to hold and. Has a carrying case too.

@@Guitario666I got a nexigo gripcon. It's the solar system looking one with rgb lights on it. It's cheaper and works grt, it has the same setup as the nitro deck. I also have the fixture s2, the hori pads and binboks which are like the hori pads except they have rgb lights and rumble. I ordered the limited run edition of the nitro deck and canceled my order. Glad I did...I got plenty of grips lol. I also got the sastifye grip and the skull and Co grip if I wanted to use joy cons....for whatever reason 😂. But yeah....outside of the joy sticks on the nitro deck, I don't see any reason to get this.
I’ll have to look up that nexigo one. I might order this tho. It looks great. I love the steam deck form factor and this looks close. I also love the split pad pros. The new TOTK ones are great

I believe you had to really press the kickstand down in able to make it flush with the Deck again. Simply tapping it won't do the trick.

Controller grip case is a cool idea, but quality does not look anywhere near good.
Has it go with scratching the back? I have the Zelda switch so not sure if I should get it
That's pretty dope. I was at Best Buy last night looking at the switch. Might get a lite over the Logitech (a little pricey) but this set up right here is awesome to me.

I have the same one and I love it. I actually like the Joy-Cons but both pairs I had some kind of defect after a while.
Is it for the regular or oled. if its for both does the oled stick out or does the origional not fill the nitro, or do they have two sizes for both?

I've watched another video and he said that the holder left some scratches at the back of his switch. If i'm gonna use that maybe i'll put some non slip band or something thin and smooth that don't make a direct contact on the back of my switch.

I got the nitro deck on Amazon just to try out and if I didn’t like it I would just return it, I honestly love it, I couldnt put it down and I have a modded switch OLED so I’ve been playing Xbox cloud gaming and it just plays great with it
Definitely want one of these. Anything GameCube related is usually an instant buy for me but not sure about the price point on these.

This seems like a cool product, I don't like that you have to touch the screen in order to get the switch out of the nitro deck . Means a screen clean is required after every removal

Would the removal of the OLED switch wear out the back side of Special Edition TOTK or the screen itself with time? Read this as a potential hazard on some comments

It looks amazing, but the loud ass buttons are a huge turn off for me
I just bought one waited until I could get the full package for $50 downloaded V2 firmware. They must have improved the latest batch I was impressed with the quality no issues with construction I'm really liking mine no complaints huge improvement over using a grip and Joycons. Nothing low quality imo.
There’s some great ideas which look inspired by the steam deck, but it does look (and sound) quite cheap. The kick stand is utterly bizarre - why would you connect another controller to it when the system has a kick stand?
I think it looks like it would cost more than it's going price. I do agree about the sound of it though. The idea with the kickstand is that if you don't want to disconnect the deck to play table top mode. The stand should be more adjustable though.

No. I comfortably use every DualShock controller, GameCube controllers, Xbox One controllers, and the Wii U Pro controller. If you find those comfortable, then you might dislike the Nitro Deck.

I modified my RetroFlag controller with Xbox thumb sticks and I removed the sharp metal pieces that scratch the rails
Should have held that kickstand in with a magnet. Also a telescopic kickstand would solve that angle issue.
I bought two different colors, and both the stands stay in place & sit completely flush. Unfortunately, the review model seems to have a QC issue.
I bought a nitro deck but they never sent me my shipment and they blamed it on the shipping company lol still haven’t gotten my purchase.

What was the power cable for ? To charge while playing I suppose ...it's kinda bulky but they realized that and gave ya a strap . I do like they included additional thumbstick pads and the case is ok . Holds way more physical titles then I own or plan on owning and it carries the device . Hate the color .

I just wish Nintendo would make something like this that feels exactly like the Pro Controller.
Those shoulder buttons sound so cheap like from a Binbok or Doby controller. The kickstand that doesn't even lock properly just screams cheap. They are marketing this as a premium accessory with a stupid 'collectible' NFC feature. Reminds me of the Souja Boy handheld, which is just a rebranded Chinese, cheap handheld.
GC style price is iffy
But i ordered the black one so it having more features than the retroflag one is worth a bit more

im a steam deck and pc gamer but if i had a switch i would definitely get this it makes the switch look better imo and it probably feels much more comfortable to play with this rather than the joycons

Products like these are great (and personally almost necessary for a switch because I hate using the Switch/Joycons in handheld mode). I really don't like how the Purple/Mint versions are 30 quid more than the Black/White ones though, a 50% price hike (at Argos at least) for a colourway seems like a cynical nostalgia-tax for me
They come with a carry case, the plain colours do not, but yes, a very large price bump for sure.

Consider the Dobe TNS 1188 "Eggshell"
It's basically a lower shell quality but highly practical Switch USB C satellite controller. Back macro buttons are somewhat iffy but they're much better to use than the Joycons. Carries 4 carts at the back as well

Was gonna get one, but when I couldnt get Atomic Purple I just gave up. I messaged them if there was a restock anytime soon but nothing so far. The other colors are ok but I really wanted that Atomic Purple. Even if the restock happened, I think getting more invested for my Switch Oled when the Switch 2 is supposedly hitting next year, I think I will just wait to spend for accessories for that. I really liked what the Nitro Deck is doing for the Switch but I want to see what next year holds, I'm cool with Switch Oled as it is.
lol the IGN guy apparently had an issue removing his switch from the Deck but yours seems fine.

I’m going to nitpick just a bit. If they were trying to replicate the GameCube controller, the yellow right stick should have actually been the grey left stick instead. It’s a tiny nitpick but it does bother me slightly.
It bothered me too! There are lots of little details like that that make it look not very GameCube-y to me.

@@Daniel-rm5hz they mean the texture on top, not the color. The grey left stick on the gc controller had that concentric ring grip that you see on the yellow one on the nitro deck

Am I the only one who thinks it misses the mark on the GameCube look? The texture on the left analog stick should look like what’s on the right one, and then the right one should have a smaller cap and a little C on it… and then the face buttons don’t feel like the right color, and they’re weirdly glossy
Now if only they used the GameCube button layout

I wanted this when I saw the promotions a few months back. But I'm glad I didn't have the patience to wait. I just got my Retroflag and I like it a lot better after watching this video.
