I love Paolo's voice. They should let him do backup vocals more often! I saw Trivium tonight with Lamb of God, Gojira and Machine Head and it was AWESOME!
this guy is right... quote from matt: "If anyone is wondering why the screaming is gone it's because the four of us were never into bands that scream and we don't like any of the current bands that scream, so we asked ourselves why we're doing it. The only reason I started screaming in the first place is because I sucked at singing and wanted to be the frontman of a band." I dont know if he has lost the screaming voice, but he's not using it :P
Wow, that was awesome. i love that song, especially when matt's like, "Corey our lead guitar!" and Travis is doing something with the drums, sounds so cool, then matt's solo, I headbanged so hard with Corey
If anyone is wondering why the screaming is gone it's because the four of us were never into bands that scream and we don't like any of the current bands that scream, so we asked ourselves why we're doing it. This time around I wanted to be a better singer because that's what we wanted to hear, so we dropped the screaming and did a lot of vocal training and vocal work-Matt Heafy
i think this is trivium's best song of all time. it has a good melody, a strong chorus, and an incredible solo. their 2nd best song is falling to grey from ember to inferno. if you're new to trivium, then you should check out their first album, then listen to ascendancy. take note in the maturity over those albums.
I saw these guys on Nov 20th with Whitechapel, Chimaira and Dirge Within. Matt was actually doing some screaming when they played their stuff from Ascendancy and like 1 or 2 songs from Ember to Inferno. For some reason Travis wasn't there, instead they had sum other dude drumming, but they still played a really good show.
People who criticize trivium for the way matt sings live just don't understand what incredible guitarists matt and cory are...and the guitar is what it's really all about...
Hi, I’m from the future, Matt was also blowing his voice out and got lessons. They play at the right tempos live and Matt’s record voice and live are the same now.
w00t? someone saying his voice suxx live? i was at a trivium concert this weekend and its the coolest thing ive ever been at, he sings close to perfect of what u can expect at a metal concert!
This had to have come out right around the release of the crusade because If you would notice, matt's hair isn't as short as in ascendancy and it isn't as long as it is in Shogun, so what that means that it has to be after Matt messed up his vocal chords...THAT is why they sound kinda mellow with not a whole lot of screaming in the crusade album. So he couldn't scream his songs at that point in time.
It was just an odd era, they had a major change of sound which pretty much wrecked their old songs because it was such a major change. Most of this was supposed to be screamed, that's the main problem. They're alot better live now, trust me. And the whole wearing their own merch thing, it's because they were somewhat advertising it I guess, I'm not exactly sure why. But honestly, that shouldn't be a reason to hate on a band.
Do you know what Matt did to his voice box??? Have you not seen Jason Newsted wear nearly every gig a Metallica T shirt??!! Its called fucken proud of who and what you are!!!
So glad they are back to screaming for this song. I don't mind them not screaming when it was recorded that way, but they ruined this song when they were touring for The Crusade album.
for those who say trivium are a studio band... Please watch a video of a pre-crusade song...BEFORE they started on the crusade. He stopped screaming on purpose simply because he doesnt like it. Its a bit hard to sing (scream) the Old Trivium by the New Trivium (if ya get what i mean. If you want to see the screaming versions of these songs, then go back a few years, you'll see that they arent a studio band after all
yeah it was freakin awesome! :D Gojira went on first, followed by Machine Head, Trivium and then Lamb of God. It was very loud too. I was like 10 feet from the speaker stacks :D hehe ear plugs were my friend, lol
Are you referring to his voice in 2010 when you commented or his singing in the video? I prefer his singing in 2010 because he had a lot of screaming as well and the screams it sounded brutal as fuck
@BryceIbanez17 there are really 2 stories: one is that his throat started to hurt and so on, he couldnt pull off singing clean and screaming anymore live and the other is that the they wondered why they were screaming since their 'examples' like metallica also didnt and that produced The Crusade, but I very much doubt that story.
Correct mate. He hasnt lost his screaming vox, he can still scream on the album (as proved on the crusade) but he lets Corey do it when they play live.
The Crusade is fucking awesome to this day but I do enjoy his screams, they bring a new level of intensity to parts of songs I know the song wasn't out 14 years ago but, the bridge of Of Prometheus And The Crucifix wouldn't be the same had not just sang the lyrics instead of screaming
Matt trying out to be like james hetfield :D
no scream no party hahaha... 🤘🤘🤘
especially 3:40 that is so Hetfield
@@fakhriyanugrah ifkr HAHAHAH😆
I remember bfmv trivium and avenged at this show

One of the greatest song to jam on the guitar...trivium are just an excellent band
I love Paolo's voice. They should let him do backup vocals more often! I saw Trivium tonight with Lamb of God, Gojira and Machine Head and it was AWESOME!
You got your wish, person from 14 years ago :)

The solo in this is just awesome the only words to describe it
Not there best...this was FIVE years ago! But at least he's screaming them properly live now!
And 5 more years.
love this song!!
the solo sections are awesome

Trivium!!
BEST BAND EVER!
I love Paolo's voice

What Corey is a God on the Guitar dude search the song "In The Fire" his guitar work is awesome. There would b no Trivium without Corey
cool stuff
he does now, thank god
if they went back and recorded acendancy with his new voice it would be the best thing they've ever done.
No…stop lying
@@mikeythelychee4918 you know how long ago that was commented buddy?
wtf
yea he does
i love coreys scream its amazing:)
trivium trivium! mhm
i think its because in the crusade they didnt use any screaming so he wasnt used to it
exactely
ascendancy came before the crusade, so he was used to screaming. he just chose not to here
ironaodhan and Ember to Inferno
YESS
@MetalGearSolidNick1 True, I saw them in 2008 and in 2009 and but concerts rocked, I even got to meet them
yes
only from this, watch the may 10th yokohama or whatever. good shit
yeah omfg - that song owns on ascendancy
w00t? someone saying his voice suxx live? i was at a trivium concert this weekend and its the coolest thing ive ever been at, he sings close to perfect of what u can expect at a metal concert!
i dont know why everybody is hating his vocals. i loved the crusade. thats the album that got me into guitarplaying. trivium rules
damn right
wow does no one else notice end of everything plays in the begining? that before any other trivium song makes it sound so much better haha
damn the recording was good, nice

Damn its been 15 years xd 😭
very catchy
i just saw them like 2 weeks ago in vegas and they were screaming this shit
I’m glad Matt fixed his voice.
i feel your pain man
love it at 4:30 with corey and paulo with there instuments.

corey screams now all the songs i saw them live and coreys screams are so good as matts they are fucking kick ass
Corey has so much style
thank god! cuz he's a boss
in revolver, they said they're gonna be screaming on their next album.
He just had this phase when he didn't like screaming but that's pretty much over now..
So glad they are back to screaming for this song. I don't mind them not screaming when it was recorded that way, but they ruined this song when they were touring for The Crusade album.
in 4:33 only a joyful tear can be shed.
ascendancy is easily my top 5 albums of all time, but i didnt even buy the crusade it just wosnt my style. but they still fuckin rock
for those who say trivium are a studio band...
Please watch a video of a pre-crusade song...BEFORE they started on the crusade.

their fuckin awsome!!
music is a form of expression corey just shows it 4:34
anyone know where i can find a leather vest like that corey's?
was at first row and it was great. didnt know the song, just knew gunshot to that moment, but anyway i rocked my head of my neck
yeah it was freakin awesome! :D Gojira went on first, followed by Machine Head, Trivium and then Lamb of God. It was very loud too. I was like 10 feet from the speaker stacks :D hehe ear plugs were my friend, lol
matts voice is now live much better ^^

cory's screaming is really good =)

that right
matt sounds a 100 times better when he actually sings than when he growls. thats why i love the new album :)
The Crusade is fucking awesome to this day but I do enjoy his screams, they bring a new level of intensity to parts of songs
I know the song wasn't out 14 years ago but, the bridge of Of Prometheus And The Crucifix wouldn't be the same had not just sang the lyrics instead of screaming
he says he wants to take a "new direction" by not screaming much at all but if you watch their ozzfest live footage they scream and sound good
they went thru a phase where matt couldnt scream cuz his voice was deteriorating. but now hes doin it again...yay :P lol
he will
Corey is the man!!!!!!
finally someone agrees with me
@THEMAN62084 even during the crusade there are plenty of songs like To The Rats where he recorded screams.
I take it back.
