dl stands for deciliter, meaning a 10th of a liter, similar to ml (milliliter i.e. 1 1000th of a liter). So 3,9 dl is about 390 ml, or 13,1 ounces.
Awesome that you know that!
I felt learnt today! Thank you
You just answered my unasked question. Thank you.
@@Matthew_Australia It's very common in Europe, at least.
@@Matthew_Australia being an Aussie too I haven't heard of or used decilitre before either. We only seem to use Litres and Millilitres. I'm happy to stick with those. Mind you I have learnt something new today so I guess that can't be all bad. LOL
Honor is the quality of a man who cannot be bribed. Love agenda free.
During boy scout cold weather campouts, I use to hand out the BODY 12hr "hand style" warmers. Two per kid. They would toss one down by their feet and one by their torso. They worked like a charm.
I put those in my boots so they aren't freezing cold on the morning.
That helps the toes from freezing in the morning when putting the boots on.
They work great for keeping your cell phone working when the temps drop below freezing.
-40 Celsius here in Yellowknife 🇨🇦 hot cup of Tasters nasty and TOGR with the coolest hand in the land = winning!
dl stands for Deciliter. 1 liter = 10 deciliters = 100 centiliters = 1000 milliliters
That is correct but these are european measurements which are not being used in other parts of the world.
Deci is ten
@@kirstendl1724 The metric system itself is used throughout the whole world today. And it is as "European" as the system that is used in the USA, since that also came from (a part of) Europe.
You are only insofar correct that deciliter and centiliter are not very common even in many of those countries - at least in day to day life
Mainly they are used in a scientific or technical setting.
@@kirstendl1724 lol thats just ignorant saying such nonsense. You better get yourself educated a bit before spreading false facts.
Sweet thanks
Thank you Luke, For 2021, I just want to survive it.
I live in Devon, UK, and usually watch before I go to bed, so I cheered with my bedtime lager 😆😆😆
Thanks Luke, hope you’re feeling better.🌲⛺️🌲🌲
Hey Luke! The big thing in 2021 is a lot of bikepacking /cyclo tourism / wild camping. Big up from Transilvania, Romania! 🇷🇴🏕️🌿✌️
Yes! Thank you Luke for putting in the effort! we love you and Susie for it!
For 2021 I'm going to...erm... carry on being under lock down, allowed out of my house for essentials and exercise for an hour within 5 miles. So glad I have these videos to watch as a means of temporary escape. Thanks Luke. dl is decilitres
You must be a Brit too 😏
Let’s just stay alive to start, but these videos are so enticing
Soon be march 8 👍 keep safe and say well guys 👍🇬🇧🚌
No such restriction regarding the hour and the 5 Mile limit is merely an advisory, NOT law!
#endthelockdown
I second that
@@Adventures_with_Sog Is that just this time around with the lockdown? 1 hour was the rule last lock down. If the 5 miles is only advisory then why was it all over the news about the two ladies being fined by Derbyshire police? Or was that just until Boris broke the rule? Too many advisories, rules, alleged laws and contradictions
Plus a wool blanket with the sleeping bag cold weather set up
Hi Luke! Your water won't freeze overnight no matter how low the temperature gets if you bury it underneath few inches of snow.
Excellent "trick", well worth knowing. Thank you for sharing.
@@azclaimjumper When burying it in snow dont fill completely leave an inch or three space and the bottle goes top first ? so when the top of the water gets some ice (water freezes top down) it will be floated to the bottom, when bottle is righted the ice will not block the neck allowing free flow, well in theory?
Or simply put in a cozy with a handwarmer inside and have warm hydration in the night or first thing in the morning before you get your stove going.
@@BillyBoySoul the ice that forms is very little and won't block the neck. Even if you put the bottle bottom up, the ice will float up to the neck anyways when you turn it the right way up
Thank you for your videos - you are a real good friend when I need one, speaking for many others as well
It's good to hear that you had a trip that went "off the rails". I sometimes think I am the only one who manages to do that.
It seems to happen to me everytime I head out for a trip. Nothing ever seems to go the way I plan, but that is what I like about being out in the bush.
You have me downloading and watching movies before bedtime when I'm backpacking.
Luke's videos are so relaxing to me, ❤them.
The good old Trangia. Can't beat it in the cold.
And an aha moment for the double wall setup.
Keep feeding us our outdoor fix, thanks.
When this started, with the music, it reminded me of some of those post-apocalyptic short films I used to watch right here on CZcams.
Amazing how a warm fire lifts the spirits
enjoying a coffee while i watch your latest adventure ....strength and honour from the UK
Driving for sure. Road trips are the best.
Thanks for using the trangia, I have used mine for years and always catch crap. Lol
I love all your videos Luke, but the winter trips are my absolute favorites!
You and your coffee! Ha! Thanks for the vids of 2020, they made it that much more bearable! Lets hope 2021 will bring better days and just as awesome vids?
Iv tried so many different coffees since I started watching these videos! Daily use an aeropress !
I live in oregon. Been here since 1993. I love it. Started backpacking in the 2000s and learned parts of the Pac nw I never knew existed.
Mt Hood trails, Olympic peninsula forest trails (Sol Duc Loop is my favorite), beaver dam, so many beautiful areas one never sees unless they drag 50lb s of gear down a trail. And worth every drop of sweat.
Mt.Hood great choice. Oregon has so much to offer. Lots of lakes, volcanoes, rivers and water falls. Looking forward to seeing that trip.
Love the music in the beginning.
Thanks Luke !! You're seriously helping me to stay sane during the pandemic !!

I would love to see your 4 season set up. I've been contemplating something similar with a DIY hot tent stove and two tarps. Great vid and nice adventure!!
Some of Arnold's earliest movies
..are great.
In all my years of camping we had one huge tree come down near our camp in the dark. Sounded like the end of the world. Those are some gaiters.
I'm A Tree Hugger Lover and have a question..WHY so many trees in one small spot are dead/ WMs???? Terrain? Minerals that trees don't like, bugs?
Guess it would almost always be a good idea to have some sturdy support over camp if it n woods that thick? Or just find smaller shorter trees to camp near/ under..no big limbs..😬
Isn't it funny how people try to tell you u are doing things wrong when they have no idea! Love your work buddy!
make a blooper episode :P or "when camping goes wrong" episode with that footage. :)
Always enjoy the coffee and campfire making..even watching at 3a.m. In Alberta Canada.
The "best"/"worst" memories, sometimes make the best lessons!
Wow...what an awesome childhood you had...just wonderful!
Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. 😀
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and adventures brother
Thanks Luke, you are the best out there, lots to learn from with your excursions, good stuff..thanks.
When we have been subject to such severe lock downs (5km max) since Nov 20 here in Ireland (bar Christmas week) , your channel is a salvation. It brings a happiness. I can look out of my window and see hills I am banned from walking on. I can see a forest in the distance, walk-able but still illegal. Keep up the great work.
That is so stupid
I did the same with just the sleeping bag and the jervenduk, no tent. Amazing.
2021 I’ll be the year we all find ourselves. Finally got the wife to hike this weekend and I’m so stoked.
Wow, Luke! I would've thought the deviated septum surgery wouldn't mix too well with the cold winter air. Glad to see you on the mend, back out & about. Strength & honor.
Good to see another adventure. As always you are very much appreciated as well. Thanks Luke (and Susie) keep making them for us to enjoy. ATB
Dl I think is deciliter.. thank you for all the videos you make..It makes me feel connected to nature
Tombstone or Cliffhanger both amazing films.
Luke👍👍 Great overnight escape. Minimalist shelter for cold weather camp, luckily weather held on the mild side, no frigid anomalies. $100 😮 12V not an option for most people hoofing it, total fail. Slush under foot not so good for trekking, hard on joints and related. Thanks for the video and hard work to bring us along. Stay safe....Enjoy!
Taster's Nasty! This is the happiest day of my life!!! A perfect video. My soul feels complete.
This is the video that I have been waiting for!
Thanks for the adventure...Cheers from Australia
Luke. Thanks for keeping it simple. That's what I love about your videos. Have a couple of adventures planned already. Hope to have more time for some quick trips that are close to home.
Going to create a wildlife-friendly garden and hopefully hike Isle of Skye in Scotland.
I am impressed with your film making skills, your choices in dramatic music, stunning views, breathtaking panoramas, and smart editing. Your work often evokes strong emotion. You capture timeless ideals by incorporating images that have been present for eons and reflect a distant past of all the lives that crossed in time but are so often overlooked or unconsidered . This is all in addition to your exceptional reviews and insights. Thank you. I’ll leave you with this, I’d love to see you pick and area a mountain, Forrest, or trail, and let the filmmaker /artist in you run wild. Best wishes.
Appreciate your reviews!
God bless you sir you are a true mountain elements warrior! ❤️
great stuff keep trekkin my friend.
It's good to see you getting out this year. I'm glad you and yours are doing okay. Look forward to your next video. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Another awesome video ! Thanks Bro!
Hi from snowy Syracuse NY and quarantine
Very cool shot at 28:45: Wide perspective, lone man in the woods lit by the fire's glow, contemplating his brief existence in the vast cosmos.....
First time I’ve heard any camper, outdoorsman think or talk about “risk and repercussion” and out on your own a real major thing to be aware of, good to hear it.
IN THE NAVY BANG BANG BANG
next level camping right here this guy is a legend wow keep the vids commin luc love them
Love it when you mention the movies you have with you, whatever they are. That's the best part of your channel/adventures and I appreciate the honesty. (Glad you watched the 1982 Conan, too!)
Excellent adventure Luke. Amazing footage. Love your narration. You are one tough mother.

Took the Amtrak from Omaha to Chicago for my birthday back in June . Had a blast.
If you ever follow Luke in the snow don't eat the yellow snow, you won't be able to sleep & you'll get very aggressive, 😉
Another great video Luke, I live in the South East of the UK & I hope to be able to visit Scotland this year for the first time, be well everyone.
Yeah Conan! My favorite flick. Absolutely love the soundtrack for that film.
Cheers mate!
*while holding a humongous cup filled with some Irish whiskey*
District 9 is definitely one of my most favorite movies. Such an incredible film

Love the channel and the honest reviews. Thanks for sharing and taking us along for the ride.
Looking forward to in 2021, attending Pathfinder school.
That giggle after mentioning how Tasters (mis)Choice made soldiers too violent was priceless.
Hi luke just a small saggestion. Put a time lapse of the night when you say goodnight everyone till morning.
I'm from Portland. Every couple years we drive up to visit family. I have done both, fly and drive. Living in the south I have gone a few different routs by car. Alway better to see the scenery that wonder what it's like from the air!
With s three day trip there is lots along the way to enjoy!
Great content love your style.
