My dad was watching F1 races 40 years and even my mom turned into kind of expert. My dad was always watching every F1 in old fashinoned Ferrari polo he bought on his honeymoon trip to Italy in 1980. When he get retierd I bought him a trip to F1 race in Spain (where I've been living for 14 years ). It was one of the happiest days in his live. He had chance to make a picture with Fernando Alonso who was Ferrari driver back then. My dad past away from heart atack month ago and now I have his old fashion Ferari polo in my flat. Barrichello got a lucky escape that weekend and Ratzenberger unfortunatly did not. After that they did closed off the cockpits more. The "wave" constructions on the sides of the safety cell got introduced after that to limit their heads for swinging around in total freedom. The actual tying down the helmet to the shoulders with the HANS system was still years away. Hans was invented midd 80's but only came to F1 in 2003.
