      Maybe even less if you were to forego certain add-ons and finishes.
      I recently built a primo tele that ran me around $2000 after paying a professional to assemble and set her up.
      Now I'm tempted to see how low I can go on my own and still have a great build.

      @@SuicideVan definitely, custom-built is the way to go, not only is the guitar way cooler with better options but you get a lot more for the money regardless of how much you spend. You could do a barebones tele or strat build for around $700 and it would still have a custom-shop level neck if you’re using warmoth. My strat neck is sooo nice.

    Built four so far. But, have five necks? Really am high on the mahogany walnut top thinline with a 59neck and a custom bridge Seymour Duncan humbuckers. Had a roasted maple rosewood neck, but, switched to a non roasted maple rosewood neck and rolled the fretboard edges. Am loving that guitar, big time. Getting it Plek'd right now. It's got that vintage rock, blues, jazz vib going on. Also built a 72 thinline with wide range humbuckers and what I call a vintage modern telecaster. Ash, maple, vintage reissue single coils but everything else is modern. Locking tuners, brass bridge, stainless frets. Same with the 72. Kind of modernized it as well. Flatter radius, locking tuners, four bolt neck. Orange drop capacitors, copper shielding, twisted wires. Yeah, it is difficult to justify buying one off the rack, when we can build one just to our liking. Only downside is good luck trying to sell em? Hopefully you have some closet space 😉 oh yeah, I put bone nuts in all my warmoth necks. Just have to order em with no nuts. Buy nut making tools and nut blanks. And get to sanding, filing, slotting and polishing

    this comments going to read like a star wars text crawl, but I'm currently working on a warmoth tele build that will hopefully be a really good rock all-rounder.
    the body and neck are ready to go, same with most of the hardware, I'm still looking for a good set of 11/32 locking tuner as I'm using warmoth's vintage gibson scale conversion neck.
    I've got a duncan five two lipstick in the neck, which gives it a really full clean tone that sounds great, but I'm hung up on bridge options at the moment.
    I want something that can handle a lot of crunch.
    that to me generally means humbuckers, so I was initially thinking about the duncan little 59'.
    now I'm considering the possibility of adding a 4 way toggle with the 3rd and 4th position switching between both pickups in series and parallel, sort of emulating the function of a humbucker and opening up my options a bit.
    I'm hoping some of you more experienced tele tinkerers might be able to pitch me a good all-around rock tele single coil that will pair nicely with the five two, this custom will be my first ever telecaster so I've never worked with or heard many of their pickup options in the flesh.

    Great video! I am an old school person when it comes to recording and production.
    I am getting back into the game again and learning about all these amp sims and other stuff.
    Years ago when I used to record and produce music, I always used external amps and mics etc. Now I am starting again from scratch and trying to be updated with technology.
    My question is this: HOW can I multitrack guitars/bass using amp plugins? With each track in my daw do I have to load the VST? For example lets say I have a 4 minute track with 4 tracks for rhythm guitar (2 left and right) and 2 tracks for layers and 2 tracks for guitar solo. That’s 8 tracks in my DAW only for guitars. Does that mean I need to run 8 instances of neural DSP plugins (or any other amp sim) in my DAW? It will eat my computer alive.
    So is there any way through which I can connect my guitar to my computer through an interface, the signal goes to the amp sim standalone VST and THEN it goes to the DAW? Is that possible?

    • @NickMason96
      @NickMason96 Před 3 lety

      Are you trying to record 8 players at once? If so then yes, you'd need 8 instances of the VST.
      If it's just you playing though, you only need one instance of the VST, as you can just record through for one layer, then go back and do the second, then third, etc.
      The beauty of digital is you can do as many takes as you want, you're not limited to punching into tape on an old 2track or anything anymore.

    • @adityabali1939
      @adityabali1939 Před 3 lety

      @@NickMason96 i am not recording through 8 tracks at once. I dont know what you mean by “players”
      I just want to have 8 separate tracks in the DAW dedicated to guitars. 2 rhythm, 2 lead, 2 layers. Each track has their own “fx” chain and “arm record” button if i may be explicitly simple .
      I just want to figure out a way where I don’t have to have 8 instances of any amp sim plugin running simultaneously in the daw so that it eats up my ram and processor. Any way to have just 1 instance of an amp sim running so that the signal that I am recording in any of the above mentioned 8 tracks is “processed” and not a dry signal from my guitar?

    • @NickMason96
      @NickMason96 Před 3 lety

      @@adityabali1939 I meant players as in physical performers playing at once, but it sounds like it's just you doing the recording.
      You don't need 8 instances at all! I usually just have one instance of the plugin running on one channel, and I record as many takes as I need through that, then switch amp presets to record the next section, if that makes sense. Eventually, I'll have recorded all guitar layers only through the one channel, then route those tracks to their respective channels for processing.
      For instance, I'll have a "Leads" channel, "Rhythm Left" and "Rhythm Right" channel, "Clean" channel, and so on. I'll usually bus those individual channels into groups for processing to save CPU power later on.
