From Wikipedia: One Direction, often shortened to 1D, are an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London, England in 2010. The group are composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson; Zayn Malik left the group early in March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010.

Nice to meet you ladies. Tysm for reacting to my boys. They were formed on the xfactor UK by Simon not on American Idol....I understand the confusion tho. They split back in 2016 and they've all embarked on successful solo careers.

Yes, Simon Cowell put them together in Xfactor UK. They had all originally auditioned as solo singers. 4 English boys and one Irish boy.

This is a nice song, maybe a bit sad, because I lost my dad 15 years ago, and my mother almost 3 years ago. It appears to be a reminder to cherish all time with your family while they're with you. I'd say 4 beers 🍺🍺🍺🍺. One Direction also has a catchy tune "Beautiful". Which might sound a bit like the Cars, especially rhythm guitar and drums.

I've heard this song a thousand times, but I always have goosebumps when I see someone else who didn't know it. It´s even better live. All the boys are exceptional and very successful, each in his own original way.

I’m so happy to see you react to this. I’m a (much) older One Direction fan. I think the reason I enjoy their music so much is because there’s a very heavy 80’s rock influence to many of their songs. They’re also a really fun group to watch. I bet you’d like many of their songs and would love to see you react to several.

Definitely agree with you. I didn't know who they were before this song came out but when I heard it on the radio and just loved it. Learned it was by One Direction and found the music video and then I fell in love. The rest is history as they say. This is still my fav song by them but they have a lot of songs I love. And then there is their solo music. Great lads. That's for sure.

Ladies this was a pleasure! I am an older fan of Harry Styles but I always like taking a look back at the boys as they grew into
young men. I would like to suggest a couple of songs by Harry 1) Sign Of The Times, Live on The Graham Norton Show" and

I've been having a senior moment thinking this song title was familiar, but didn't recognise it as a One Direction song. The answer is that British singer Christian Leontiou released a different song called 'Story Of My Life' in 2004, and followed it up with an even better one called 'Shining' in the same year. Both highly recommended.

Hi ladies, nice to see you again. Having never in my life actually been a teenage girl myself, I can't honestly see the point of 'boy bands' - they're just a waste of space as far as I'm concerned, but they can do some interesting things if they stick around long enough to actually grow up, so I see this song as a more grown-up offering than I would have expected from Une Direction! Half a glass from me on this one.
The same thing happened with Take That - another band of scruffy teenaged nerf-herders from the UK back in the '90s, but in 2006 they came out with 'Patience', which I really liked and would recommend to you. Former Take That member Robbie Williams had long since departed for a solo career, and not only does he share my interest in UFOs, but I actually like half of his songs as well. Why half? - I don't know - he has a songwriting partner in Guy Chambers, so it may be like a Lennon/McCartney thing with the credits, and I just preferred John's songs to Paul's. From Robbie Williams, I particularly recommend 'Feel' from 2002, actually one of my all-time favourite songs.

I think that's a good point that you're making, Dave, regarding the point at which a band matures. If a musical entity keeps after it, with effort and consistency, then they can hit a point of development, leaving that old style behind
@@brianb6024 - a lot of these 'boy bands' are manufactured entities and are very much the creature of their producers, in this case Simon Cowell and his Syco record company, who rely on the band member's youthful sex appeal (can I use the word 'appeal' on CZcams? Is that allowed?) to bring in the spondoolies from the target demographic. But, if they survive long enough, they can mature into something that becomes more of their own creation.
