The flash isn't strong enough to brighten up the entire space. Any subjects within the range of it will be nice and bright 1 meter distance minimum

Honestly didn't even notice that until I just read your comment. I usually just aim and shoot anyway for these kinds of cameras, I rarely use the viewfinder.
