At one time I was considering whether or not to get a concealed carry permit. A friend told me that a lot of people, and I mean a lot, are the type to never go looking for trouble, never go to areas or establishments where trouble is likely to happen etc. All that changes however once they start carrying a handgun around. This guy in the video seems like one of those people.

@@donmiller2908 this "friend" of yours doesn't value your life. What if it was really a gun instead of the bottle? A firearm could protect your life and the lives of those around you. Only stupid people (or heroes, in the case of the police/military) go to dangerous areas just because they now have a gun. Owning a gun can help you defend yourself and your family/neighbors in case you live in a dangerous neighborhood though (or anywhere in NYC and LA).
Instead of buying your dream gun though, get all the training you need to handle it safely, to shoot under stress, to access situations, etc. Then, with the remainder of your money, buy whatever gun you can afford and with time save for a better gun. Remember, the gun is just as good/dangerous as the shooter. Same goes for a car.

this guy is completely screwed, he break checks the guy behind him not once, but twice, after the first break check he is grabbing his gun out of the center console, break checks the driver again and as the car is coming up on his side he is already bringing the gun up to fire. Not necessarily. He could have been brake checking the guy to get him to stop following. If someone is following me and I feel threatened, I'd pull my pistol and keep it low ready out of sight too. So if he's already armed and on high alert fearing for his life it's conceivable that he thought the bottle hitting his car was him being shot at. And the way he was slouching in the seat while firing indicates he believed he was being shot at too. It wasn't an aggressive posture. Most people shooting from a vehicle don't shoot out their own windows. If it was a premeditated assault he would have rolled the window down first.

Been driving professionally for twenty years and the best way to avoid a road rage incident is to avoid it. Somebody cuts you off? Take a second, take a deep breath and back off them. Let them have it. Unfortunately there are a bunch of armed idiots in this country and your number one goal when you leave for work is to return home from work.

Assuming you have electric adjusting side mirrors, I just aim their headlights back at them. Practice with a light taped to your garage door so you don't need to actually think about where you're aiming. It either gets them to turn off their highbeams or illegally modified headlights, or back off, whichever offense they're comitting.

Yeah they dropped charges yesterday because the lawyer claimed the guy in the other car pulled out a gun and shot at him first and that's when he shot back. So they said it was self defense.
But cops say that it was a bottle thrown at the car, that was the pop you hear before he shot the gun. so he just got scared and readily shot a gun.
I have never seen such a self incriminating spray and prey video, all while destroying his own new Toyota Venza. It's mind numbing how little sense this makes.
He had the gun raised before the waterbottle thump.
This was attempted murder, amongst other things.
While true, it also can be viewed as preemptive defense which is not against the law. He did not raise the gun above the other drivers line of sight… The argument will be made that he was saving himself the time of having to equip the gun from a compromised position in case the other guy had a gun.

Just go to your local gun range and see where there are errant bullet holes where there shouldn't be.
He thought he was being shot at?.... he was obviously waiting for a line of sight as he already had his gun out and was pulling it up to fire when the water bottle hit his window. He would've fired no matter what.

He wasn't reaching for it then. You can see the brake check at 1:10 and there's still the towel/shammie over the center consol. The timestamp is in the bottom right of the video and it shows him with the firearm 30 seconds later. Popper completely negates claims to lawful self defense by instigating the incident with the brake check. Had it not been for the brake check, the other driver's water bottle hitting his car could reasonably be perceived at the time as a gunshot and thus allow for a self defense claim. Of course, without the brake check there almost certainly would be no thrown water bottle.
This also serves as a reminder that our self defense laws are heavily skewed to armed cowards like Popper killing an unarmed person, even one that is employing non-lethal force, because they're cowards. Also illustrates why maintaining a proper following distance and keeping your cool behind the wheel is so important. The other driver was nearly shot to death because of a split second of bad judgement in tossing that bottle.

You’re accountable for every bullet that is fired, even if it misses and a stray hits innocent people. I imagine families, kids, or others on the road could be in the wrong place at the wrong time. His aim (or lack of, for that matter) left so many in danger. That was reckless. So Glad no one was harmed.

This kind of thing has become so scary for me, especially with my son behind the wheel with his permit 😥 I worry about stray bullets alot because we have so many idiots where I live that think firing into the air, and randomly into the trees between our neighborhood and the road, is funny. New years Eve this year was one of the scariest times I've experienced, and I had shots fired right in the street and watched the guy get arrested... 11:50 pm 2021 to 1:30am new years day there were more than 1,000 shots within our hearing range, and at least 200 within a half mile. I was scared to death!

Im not saying what he did was right because he did have the gun pointed and ready to shoot before the other car came along side of him but The other driver did have road rage following him close. If someone cut you off dont tailgate and throw things out your window just let them go. His arm hanging out the window driving by did look like he could of had a gun and the thump noise the bottle made could make him believe he was shot at 1st.

You're probably the safest, you have all that metal and cargo to protect you and you're cab is on average 7-8 feet higher than a car. Someone would actually have to be shooting directly at a trucker, not saying it couldn't happen but it's not likely.

Watch it again you will see he was slouching lower and lower every shot because he thought he was being shot at as well.. You can hit a gun range every day but if you aren't trained for live combat even the best shooter will make the mistake of hiding while shooting instead of controlling your adrenaline and aiming at your target.
