The real diss was the people he didn't mention.
Darryl Smock Jr true
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppp
Not really he couldn’t fit some rappers he didn’t mention in the song lol, for example he loves earl and joey badass but he didn’t mention them
@Seth Clayborne there's a hot 97 interview with kendrick from 02/28/13 where he's asked who from the younger generation he can take inspiration from. Kendrick says he's been listening to joey badass and that "that dude crazy". Joey put a short clip from the interview in his 'Hilary Swank' music video, released in October of 2013
Travis Buchanan that’s facts, anyone who listened to 1999 would’ve already known he was gonna be on top but he has still evolved a lot since then to be fair. And grown in popularity. But I remember seeing hardknock on 106 and park and already knew he was great
Edit: so someone like Kendrick would’ve easily been able to see the success Joey was destined to have
If you here 2024 😂
Yep, 2024 update
Russia and Ukraine at War, Israel and Palestinian at War, Cole apologized and Drake is dead.
Drake lied again 😂
@@geovanniemiles7178🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wish Shaq still did these more focused and chill reactions. Now he's too extra with gimmicks. Oh well.
@@Thomas_Leocan’t really blame him. The only way to make money and get views is with gimmicks now. Sad reality but people gotta pay bills and take care of they family bro
10 years later he still the king 👑
This song is still crazy. Kendrick was basically saying “i love all y’all but you better step your shit up if you wanna keep up with me.”
tru'
FACTS
Two years later J. Cole drops one of his best albums to show he can run with Lamar but I’ve been saying K-Dot and Cole are the two best rappers of the 2010s
@@princepayne4262 real shit
@@princepayne4262 j cole better than kendrick overrated ass
Kendrick actually called Big Sean out on Big Sean's own track LOL
Max we all know lol
Dexter Bundy Gacy Dahmer bs I didn’t
Lucas Sturgin then you late asf hehe
well ye he said that he's calling out everyone he raps with and thinks are worth mentioning.
Did it for the game. He thinks them people are good. Competition is good if he didn't mention you you ain't competition.
If you're here after kdot finished with dreezy BBL 😂😂😂
I dont even know why people thought drake stood a chance Kdot in another stratosphere
Who's here after the new Like That verse Kendrick just dropped with Future? 🤯🤯🤯
Me and I’m 60. Genius
Yep 😂
I'm here after the Cole apology.
Took 5 years for Drake to respond
here after Drake dropped taylor made and kanye dropped a like that remix
"I'm Makavelis' offspring, I'm the king of New York, king of the coast, one hand I juggle em both". He's saying he's the king of the east coast and the west coast. Just like how Tupac and Suge ran the west coast and then tried to expand into New York. That's why he's Makavelis' offspring.
Violent Genius
perfect explanation
Yet tupac was born on the east coast
Jeromy Griffin yeah pac was “east coast” for 90% of his life... most people just know his death row thug rapper stuff instead of actually listening to 2pacalypse now and his older albums like that
Violent Genius plus I think that’s a line in a Kurupt song and then he shouted him out in the verse after
I mean 2pac is from the east side n moved out west lol
We gotta respect the fact that Big Sean didn’t take his part out or change his part 💯
FlyKings 2k I think he did. It just seems sus that in his verse he disses people that name drop, and then one minute later Kendrick name drops. Not to mention that Sean’s verse on the song is probably his best ever, and no better time to go change your verse if you you got washed by a feature. And the fact Sean later went on an interview bragging and saying “I could’ve gone and changed my verse” is a bit sus. Idk there’s no way tell if he did or he didn’t, I guess only Kendrick would know
He didn’t change the song he just took the song off the album 😂
@@MjSa-es4zu Big Sean's verse was actually better on paper and based on bars. Kendrick just had aggression.
The Ultra Labyrinth Of D-Bro DALE just aggression? That verse literally changed the game, 20+ artists responded to Kendrick and a sense of competition was brought back. This arguably bright more quality to the rap game which is supported by 2014-2016 being one of the best periods for hip hop music of all time. Nobody is denying that Sean had the better technical verse, but it comes nowhere near to the impact kendricks verse had, and that’s not mentioning Kendrick still brought A grade lyricism with flawless execution. And impact >> technicality
@@MjSa-es4zu the name dropping is what made people rate that verse. I guarantee that out of every 10 rap fan you ask today what they liked or remember about Control, 8 or 9 will say its due to that. I was one of the few fans at the time that settled down soon enough within a day or two after the song released to recognize the greatness of Sean's verse. Kendrick no doubt heard Sean's verse, knew it would be a waste of time to try and outdo him lyrically based on the bars and said 'fuck it, Imma just get aggressive and stir some shit up and call some names!' lol. And yeah it worked.
2024 and “Like That” with Future & Metro got me coming back here 😂
drakes gonna wash kendrick soon as the diss comes out
Same 😂😂

How Much A Dollar Cost and The Art Of Peer Pressure by Kendrick too please! He legit won a literature prize for his lyrics🔥
"Good Kid" and "Sing About Me"
Art of peer pressure is a great song
Art of peer pressure is so deep
Good kid is so slept on
Blacker the berry is one best
Remember how Drake got into his feelings and talked about how relevant this verse would be years from when it got released 😂
I don't think this verse did anything to slow the Drake train, he's the actual King of Hip Hop right now.

So many East Coast rappers came out with remixes in response to Kendrick that year. Did Kendrick's Control song come out in 2013 or 2014?
Devo The Ambivert 2014 i think
I need heart part IV reaction bruh!
And i need a reaction on xxx aswell! Most underated song of his latest album!

He defo ain't cussing Pac g for sure, it's well known that Pac is idolized by Kendrick.

I feel so honored to have been deep into rap when this song dropped, the first listen you knew something just happened that shook the whole industry up, it was watching history happen
I remember my brother sent me this song, as a 16 year old kid I was fucking shook. I had to go dissect everything, and I just couldn’t believe it. I remember too that they interviewed big Sean and he was saying how he wasn’t a bitch and didn’t rewrite his verse. Then Sean felt some kinda way about it after seeing the worlds reaction to Kendrick’s verse. What a time to be alive for sure

The fact nobody caught he paid homage to Kurupt by reciting his bars flow and cadence tho lol
Facts!!
I had to come back here to where it all started
There is a reason why we call him king Kendrick 😊
The verse that tucked the sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes. Till date...
😂look where we at now ten years later , like cmon kendrick warned em
8:05 I knew this reaction would bring back the feeling I initially got when I heard this verse.
Shaq questioned his whole career for never hearing ts before
😂
He definitely heard it before..
Best thing of all is that he isn't really dissing the guys he mentions. He basically saying he's gonna be outshine his competition, and is merely waring his pairs about what time it is, but flexing so hard it's hard not to feel a certain way about it😂
Lil did shack knew in 5 years Kdot is the king of newyork
Even without the name drops this is still one of the best verses ever.
Kendrick is the goat
“That’s how his momma called his name.” You have me rolling! Haha

@@elijahsanders7362 bruh he did the entire chloraceptic remix and thats just about as long especially with him pausing it ever 30 seconds lmao
I needed THIS Kendrick on Mr Morale and the Big Steppers tbh. He should've given us one track with this energy fr!
when J.cole & drake responds i hope we get this Kendrick 😂😂👏🏾
Kendrick=🐐
The "King of NewYork/Coast juggle both" line was legendary. So was him calling out all his peers.
The rest of the song , he was spinning a lot of previous Eminem lyrics. When he starts out , "Bombs , Ring the Alarm" was 50 cent on Crack a bottle. Eminem has done the whole "Farrakhan , Saddam , Islam" thing before. "Decepticons , Lindsay Lohan , that definitly sounds like Eminem lol Elvis/Pelvis ,, like you can tell how much Kendrick influenced by Eminem lol Especially at the end , the whole "Prostetic Legs , driving the plane with the arthritis hands trying to land" Reminds me of that song at the end of Replase lol.
Kendricks verse was so legendary , he had to channel his inner Eminem just so the rest of the song doesnt go flat. 😂
"Bumping pac so violence in your head , Your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread" -Kendrick fucking fire though 🔥
Kendrick - Rigamortus
Didn't even watch yet and I feel like I'm about to hear it for the first time again.
This age like fine wine 😂😂😂
I came from drakes funeral to hear what really happened
He been saying it for years but nobody got it. "It's just big me".
This verse is still as devious as when it dropped
What got me weak is that Kendrick dissed Sean and tron on seans track, had jay go after he got dissed, sean changed his part after he heard Kendricks & Sean didn’t put this on the album cause he knew wtf would happen 😂
Tell me Kendrick & Jcole don’t get the best reaction out of Shaq! Tight💥
And of course Eminem lol
Anthony Lorenzen yes sir
*ja rule u stink my guy*
They don't
And Chris Stapleton 😂
If I were Sean I'd be embarrassed. How you get slaughtered like this on your own track? Lol
@Romy Taylor your opinion. I only listened for kendrick & it wasn't for the name dropping.
@Romy Taylor JUST STOP YOU MAKE NO SENSE AND YOUR THOUGHTS ARE INVALID JUST LIKE YOUR LOGIC KENDRICK WAS BETTER THAN ALL OF THE ARTISTS ON THIS TRACK.
@Romy Taylor how ironic
Dee you should listen to Sean and jay as well. The only different is their way of delivering their part. Sean and Jay had bars on them verse.
"Slaughtered" is overexagerating... Sean killed his verse, Kendrick was better but it was not this huge gap.
Meek had the best response to this honestly
This is the BEST reaction i've seen from control !! You're the best shaq!! keep doin you!
One of the hardest verse in the last few years.
One of best responses ;

This is the verse that started the Drake beef. Everyone else appreciated being mentioned, Drake was offended.

Been watching your reactions for some time. This is the one that made me subscribe. Tupac and Kendrick are my favorite rappers of all-time
I love when people discover Kendrick! He's just the GOAT.
Kendrick Lamar made everybody boost their game up! I think it's so amazing how we feed off each other. How he look up to Kurupt with myself being from Philly, and then he put that same energy from the West Coast out to everybody!

@like sunny Tupac ain't even the greatest when it comes to rapping
Mamadou Diagne These Kdot fans have gone too far 😂😂
ii.rezo he’s the king, he’s not even my favorite rapper
Trust me there are rappers better than him, e.g: Lupe Fiasco and MF Doom
What Kendrick was saying on the king of New York bar is that he’s the king of the world, coast to coast he’s got the us in his hand
YESSS FINALLY KENDRICK !!! I been waiting for this
His one of my top rappers and ur my favorite reactor coach!
This aged super well….
Compton KDOT the one!! GOAT
TDE BET Cypher 2013, Kendrick spazzed on that too and most of them responded in songs or interview and various East Coast rappers responded with songs of their own. Kendrick's stock got elevated with this.
