Nah man as someone who uses the site and collect I can tell you having these comics is pure joy. I love having my friends come over and see my collection or just having them in general it's a good feeling when someone brings something up and you just grab the book off the shelves there face be priceless.
I read comic online to but owning a physical copy is a must for me. It feels like you owned a piece of history of comic book. I have thousands of comic book in my personal collection. But the holy grail for me that I still didn't have in my collection is the 1984 #1 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1st printing. I'm a huge fan of the Tmnt and i am still looking for it in high grade condition so that i can display it in my room. So yeah, reading comics online is good because you don't have to spend money on it but owning and buying comic book is so much better. It feels like you have accomplished something big in your life.
I couldn't help but notice that too! Im only 1 year and some months into seriously collecting, buying, and occasionally reselling comics, I'm by all means new into this hobby. But even I know a second ghost rider appearance does not go for 35k; even in a 9.8 condition! It's not like it's a ghost rider volume 1, issue #1 comic in a 9.8, and even then it would definitely not be anywhere near being worth 30k. These people are just straight up scamming, or simply taking advantage of those who just don't know better! It's laughable but sad at the same time!😂😭
It’s insane. If I would’ve known these would actually become that valuable, I would’ve kept them or taken them off peoples hands when they were giving them away in bulk. At least 4 of those comics I’ve had in my hand and said no to keeping.
yeah i still have mine just in regular plastic & board & i still read it sometimes.. It's more in the $1500 range MINT. Anything more is wishful thinking.. Anyone paying full price is 1 in a million rare..
People do, usually they bring it to the con just to show it off, and it goes to auctions later on. These books sell really well in their market. Highest selling comic was $3.6mil being a Superman #1
You have to remove these are the prices they are asking for these comics. Realistically most of them will go for less. I was at C2E2 in Chicago and a actually witnessed a comic negotiation for a comic that was marked $3500 that ended up being sold for $2300.. the prices are kind of like eBay prices. It’s what they want not always what they will sell for.
@metalhead6526 I understand you on that and I met a seller a week before this comment and he claimed that he sold stuff expensive comics and novels for cheap for his own preference. Now the fact they sell comics in a not so secured area would be sketchy on top of the fact that the prices can be bargained for
The price the guy is asking for the Turtles book is preposterous. That book at that grade is worth half of what he's asking. A lot of these guys are banking on older, wealthy geeks who want to show off by buying this stuff. God knows were that boy pulled that Turtles price from.
Dude i had Giant Sized X-men & Hulk181 & i was nobody special cause we all did... Problem with late 1980's onward is they printed too many... ~Everyone i know in hometown had 5+ copies of SPawn #1. Good luck getting naythign for it.
I’ve come to find that usually the reason for these being so expensive is because they’re basically shelf decoration, they’re so over valued so that no one will buy them so they can continue to draw attention to the booth
When I was a kid I’d love to look at the mile high ads. I knew the value in those old comics but didn’t have the cash to buy any of them. Like Amazing Spider-Man #1 mint condition was around 4K and so on. I tried to convince my parents to buy them for me but they just laughed.
Please tell me you’ve shown them this video. My friend has a similar story. He could of bought AF15 for 4k in a good grade but his wife didn’t allow it. He still brings it up from time to time, it still hurts him till this day.
In 2005 my wife & I went to a Chicago comicon & saw a raw AF#15 in like 8.5 condition for $90k. I wanted to call up my employer to get it outta my 401(k). My wife even thought I should do it. I wasn't ready with the cash. That one hurts to reminisce on it.
I just found a rare comic book. The 1964 comicon convention booklet (first ever comicon in New York). One of less than 20 remaining in the world. Ones never been sold so idek what it would be worth, probably a lot though. Getting it graded at CGC, will be the 3rd graded copy in the world.
Atleast two of my friends still have the ninja turtle series. I used to have em in late 80's. They aren't worth much. Prob couple hundred. give/take. More if the turtles re popular again @ some point.
My Comics,,baseball & football cards,, Vintage skateboards,GiJoe & SW, transformers. I had all these in 80's & skateboards were very early 90's.. mom had a garage sale!! Hair loss started that day!
Literally had Detective comics intro to batman, Muhammad Ali Vs Superman original, signed crossover of Godzilla Vs Avengers and Sonic Comics 1.... up here in Alaska and the dude bought all them for 100 before the crazed kicked off and got the Batman back... just to be offered 150 because its literally about claiming its price... doesn't matter.
There’s almost 2000 millionaires being made daily so there’s definitely people out there who would spend this remember we as the people control the market
Hey bro !! It depends on what edition it is man ! If it's a reprint they go for pretty cheap, but if you have an original copy you may have some money on your hands bro 🤝🤝
I wonder how many of them had and were selling comics for their story or impact on everybody rather than which hero it featured for the first or second time
First appearance Deadpool is New Mutants 98 in a 9.8 is worth about $2,700 but there's a lot of them graded in I don't think it will maintain that value
How is the first appearance of moon knight more expensive than the first of Wolverine? I'm not a comic guy, but I know who is more popular and it sure isn't moon knight lol
We used to offend the Ahole dork at the comic shop by folding em & back pocket after declining his free plastic & board backing. IIRC there was a coupon cut off the back page. goodtimes :)
I love comic books I've loved them my whole life. But once somebody learns that they can scam and make some money off something they ruin it for everybody else. Now the things that you could pick up for a reasonable price are so ridiculously priced that you can't afford them.
I agree with almost all those valuations except for the Turtles. Its a nice book and all but that seems awfully expensive for that particular book. I've seen that book at that grade for a lot cheaper.
I have marvel spotlight 6 signed by the late gary friedrich. I paid maybe 50 bucks for it at a comic con no way that guy is selling an unsigned one for 35,000 it’s not even ghost riders first appearance
Pretty recently got Iron Man 55 first appearance of Thanos 8.0 been in the family for a long time finally got it pride out of my crazy uncles hands one of my most prized possessions.
Read comics online: *hold my beer...*
hahaha, so true man.

The advertisements as well as letters and other backmatter is absolutely critical. The vast majority of online comics are incomplete.
Welp time to say goodbye to that site
The fact that these guys bring some of these things to the actual conventions is mind blowing to me.
A lot of big whales go to conventions.
why? No better place to bring/sell/exchange these valuables than a convention. hand to hand exchange.. full security.. no tax forms 💯💰🤝🏾
If I had invisibility powers those comics would disappear specially the werewolf by night one
@@Bl0kymtt😂😂
Comic book people are cool no one is gonna try to rob them.
This is why I hate comic cons. Everybody is trying to get over on you.
highly inflated prices some people are getting ripped off
Some of these prices are $10,000 over eBay prices lol which is saying something…
The crazy thing is that people are buying 10k+ comics.
@@tristanmolina894 they'll be sorry in the long run !
They charge vendors so much, I assume they're trying to recoup the money.
35000 for a Ghost rider book LMFAO 🤣

19k for a 9.2 hulk 181 a pure rip off
yea maybe
My local is selling one for 10k.
yeah i still have mine just in regular plastic & board & i still read it sometimes..
It's more in the $1500 range MINT.

Anyone paying full price is 1 in a million rare..
That dude MUST be trolling, asking 3500 for ghost rider's 2nd appearance.
He was asking $35,000, not $3,500. Had been asking $3,500, that would have been an actually reasonable price lol.
Prices are dropping since this was recorded.
The price they are asking for may not actually be what the book is worth.
You're not getting $200,000 for that Spiderman book!
Not by u

9.6 sold for $576 about 2 weeks ago … I would never buy anything from someone with a book so overpriced, should be ashamed of themselves.

And its good.
I knew a guy that collected super rare comics way before this stuff took off. He had rooms full. I assume he’s a millionaire now. Good for you Aaron

I beet up Aron n took all his comics
Since comic collecting has been a serious thing since the 1960s, that is a very cool story.

First thing to see is a Scarlet Witch cosplayer 😎
It's beautiful. And the costume couldn't be better. A nice start for the clip. 🖖
