@@rencaelum4396 i have an e36 u think i have money for a room?
I miss my e36 so much that sometimes I purposely pour oil on my driveway to feel like I just drove her :(((
eric r brah right. Mine leaks oil like a mf’r. I always make sure it doesn’t get low and top it off. 258,000 miles and it still pulls pretty hard
I notice that most German engines tend be more leak prone than many American and Japanese engines. I really don't know why they have gaskets that turn to stone so quickly.
@@skylinefever naah both of my e36's are dry.. at least the engine and gearbox.. no one talked about the power steering xD
Yo fool you obviously fucked up I beat the shit out of my car , it was a daily and it made 6-8 drift events a year and it had 0 leaks of any kind haha.
Haha! I call it my smoke screen. Smoking them out and pull away from them at the same time.
*Keep in mind the crappy door cards, saggy glove box covers, cheap headliners, problematic cooling systems, broken sunroofs, and sensitive A/C components. Even with all of those hiccups, i love the E36 more than almost any other car.
Zach Addington yea forgot rusty rear and front arches .. especially in the European ones ..🥴
I literally have or have had the same problems with about 3 e36’s 😂 still .... gotta love em
@@ryandelgado6496 You better be counting dude, I said that 2 years ago about my 28i 'Vert and I just spent about $2500 on it just replacing stuff that went bad or was about to go bad, in addition to similarly insane amounts a year ago. That's why I think even though it is kinda cheap to get and modify, when the dual-mass flywheel and clutch goes bad, or the sperr diff goes bad, or the fucking headers leak, you gonna spend CASH if you wanna keep it running right. The pair of o2 sensors alone cost me freakin 400usd (albeit the most quality ones, WITH a discount). I still love it though.
I’ve got non of those problems with mine and it’s got hard 290k miles on it
Mine has all problems! And a ton of rust, leaking oil pan, power steering leak,....

If you have a big weener and want everyone to know about it, you engine swap a m3 engine into an e36 compact.
But couldn't you just put a compact body on an m3 chasis.I remember seing that the e36 has the same chasis across all variants.
Alex Gherghiceanu it’s unibody... and the compact has a different wheelbase and rear subframe
sjpro1 you’re right... I own a 318ti myself and I’m swapping a S52 into it as soon as I’m done doing the suspension overhaul

Picked up an E36 for my first car not too long ago. It is amazing I love that thing. There's always something to fix on it but it keeps you on your toes. This car is the definition of fun.
Planning on getting a 318 for the gas mileage. Hearing that they are well rounded cars makes me feel a lot better about it!
Love my E36, eats money and parts alive, but I don't care it's that good
This just made me wanna go buy an E36 😅
King Lozy do it best desicion of ur life
I love the handling. I dont plan to get any car that can't handle as good yet feel as nice. Just remember rust and bad plastic parts can make it into a money pit.
Don't forget to go to fitment industry for all your wheels tires and suspension needs 😉
Do it, I’m on my 3rd one, they’re phenomenal cars. But watch out for rust and cooling system issues. Replace the expansion tank, only use blue coolant unless you like blowing head gaskets, and if the car ever overheats, don’t just limp it home, because you will warp your head. Oh and replace your motor mounts and the fan clutch because if either of those get far enough into disrepair you’re gonna punch a hole in your radiator. I replaced 3 rads and 5 fans before I figured that one out.
@@RichardFromageRacing you seriously didn't have a break from it. I have own my car for 4 years and I barely change my water pump because the bearing was going bad. The previous owner changed the radiator and put the green coolant. Lol But even then I have not had serious issues.
I've had my e36 328is for about 3 years now as my daily and put over 70k miles on it and besides the cooling system and door cards and headliner, its been such a blast to own, it sounds great even with a well done muffler delete, and looks amazing just by restoring the trim and paint. Love these cars :)
I absolutely love this platform. Just bought an m3 about 2 weeks ago, after owning a 318i for about 3 years. They are the BEST!!! and neither of them have broken down either.
I own one, m52b20 .... fighting rust is my life, but it’s worth it straight pipe sounds like dream
Straight piped e36 sound like garbage lol
T0MMY561 with the m52b20 i'm sure it sounds quite different from say a 328
I just bought a 320i a month or two ago! But how can you have it straight piped? I did a muffler delete and it was awful so i welded in another smaller muffler and it is so perfect now;P
T0MMY561 in what world? Just cause a car sounds raspy doesn’t make it bad
E36's are my favourite cars, but they sound like absolute dog shit with a straight pipe. Worse than a vq, worse than a d16. And like both of those other engines, they can sound absolutely gorgeous but only with the right exhaust setup.
Honestly my e36 m3 is the absolute most fun car I’ve ever owned and driven. The gear box is amazing the sound is amazing and the looks are incredible. Throw on a set of bc‘ or st’shave and sticky tires and you’ll yourself one hell of a racecar, but alex was right, watch out for cooling system it can be a nightmare.... but overall I’d fully recommend anyone to buy an e36 10/10 car
I like it better than my e46 m3!
E36 is lighter and just more fun to drive!
I think this is the perfect compromise. Its the best mix between form, function, styling and versatility. I love my E36 and i't will always have a special place in my heart.
German sedans get me going, my 96 328i 5spd came equipped with enough m3 components to make it walk most cars today.
The build potential, automotive history behind it and the complete driver oriented experience any 36 chassis gives you, made it a no brainer in deciding on my next car from my s13.
If you’re looking into one, send it.
Alright now you have to make a "So you want a BMW E30" at some point.
Bought an E36 a year ago. Has been looking great sitting in my garage for the entire year.
Feel like the e36 is just a good steppingstone into cars and mods just with how cheap and fun they can be, I’ve only just got a 318i but there’s so much to do, there’s turbo kits to make it go alittle quicker and then after that the amount of engines that just fit in this car it’s just a good first proper car cause there’s the element of being able to keep the car but completely change the way it runs, aswell as the m3 parts fitting in pretty much all the other e36 models
“They came down so much so that people like you and people like me can buy them”
Alex you drive a Porsche... I drive a Civic I got off let go for 3 grand 😂

For everyone with a broken or only sometimes working sunroof:
Take off the steering rack cover, look below left side of the speedometer for a light blue relais in the small relais box(about as big as a gopro session) the less fancy extras your car has, the more likely it is that its the only one there. Take it out, open it, resolder the cracked solder joints on its mainboard, stick it back into the slot and try the sunroof again.
Fixed for 0 bucks, and works 100% of the time now.

Bro listen.
DO NOT BUY AN E36 UNLESS:
- You own a workshop
- You are ok with fixing small issues every other week
- You are ok with the car not starting when it's cold or raining or snowing or at any other weather except bright sunshine
- You want to spend way to much money on a bucket of shit before deciding to sell it because it breaks down WAY too often
- You like rusty things
- ...
- ..
- .
Trust me, I've owed a e36 323ti Compact and a 325i and both of those are cars that you have to be a mechanic for you to run them properly.
Now if you really want one try to buy one with max. 120.000km and search for one without any rust. The most common rust spot are the rear quarter panels and fenders. Sometimes there is also rust under the doors and look for cracked rubber sealings all around the car.
But try to buy an e46 because they are much more reliable and in Europe sometimes cheaper than an e36. Good e36 models run for as much as 6k€. They start to appreciate in price again.
you'll love the 318IS, its quicker off the line than a 323, but obviously doesnt make as good noises. however few words of advice.
if you run it slammed on wide wheels, you best have a collection of small case diffs, because they fucking hate being low and wide. check the rear trailing arms where they mount to the body, as sometimes those love to rip out while driving. check around/under the sideskirts, as they fucking love to rust there.
also, hope you like glovebox and headliner sag, because that's what you're in for.
overall, you'll probably find you love the IS, mine is currently on 158k, hasnt been serviced for the past 20k, and still runs like a fucking charm.
Had two e36s before, despite loving the coupe variant I still don't regret the moment when I sold both of em for an e34 that I've been now using for over 3 years now.
Hey there I run a e36 channel and would appreciate a your support for some bimmer goodness haha🤞🏽🖤
E36’s are awesome with them being everywhere you can find them in most junkyards making parts cheaper compared to going to the dealer. I picked mine up for $1,000 usd a year ago and since then I’ve done little to no work to it at 199k miles tires, brakes, and general maintenance work. Though I did have the engine harness catch on fire for some reason I still haven’t figured out. New harness and back on the road. These cars are bullet proof perfect first car or someone who doesn’t wanna spend every other weekend working on a car. I’m in modification mode now after all the general maintenance was brought back up to date slammed on Land Rover 18’s, 3” straight pipe sounds amazing on the 2.8l m52. Their just so cheap you can’t go wrong with them. I bought it and everyone told me how much of a nightmare BMW is to work on and how hard they are to maintain. But I’ve yet to see it from this car in the 6k I’ve put on it it gets up and moves fastest I’ve had my stock motor clocked at is 125 which isn’t half bad for a 22 year old car that sat at least a year before I purchased it. But over all it’s been an amazing car and the way I look at it, $1,000 well spent I’m off to body and paint to only have $2,500 into the car after all is said and done. Then it’s off to get another for a rally car
Picked up a used 323 98 coupe 2.5 5spd, it's a 198000 mi & runs like a monster. UUC stainless exhaust and M3 center section, no cats, the pop and crackle are like angels trumpets

Finally one I can relate to
Had my e36 m3 for 3 days, bought it from a kid that stanced it and i wasnt really going for that look so i redid the suspension and now i can enjoy the car so much more, i dont have to worry about bottoming out or scraping. The car is too nice to be slammed and cambered and enjoyed alot more when on just some lowering springs
My dad had a e36 when I was younger, White with the fin, sunroof and faulty aircon… miss that girl. Need one myself 🕯🕯
Can u do a video on the best sleepers? Like a Nissan Maxima 3.5se, Acura TL, and Subaru Legacy GT
I didn't look as in-depth as I should have when I bought mine... turned out that the jacking points were rusted through and the guy who sold the e36 just sprayed so much undercoating on it that you wouldn't feel it when checking with your fingertips. Was a real pain to repair because the jacking points vanished into the body the first time i tried to jack it up(which was how i found out about the rust) :/ Real bummer 6/10 experience. Watch out fellas
One of my landed in the junkyard because the jack pad turned into a 13" rust hole under the driver's seat... 286,000 miles and it only was getting better every day...
Remember when I first saw one of these things, in 1990 of course. Thought it was so dope.
My dads got an E36 328i 1997 with 178000 miles and still runs and sounds smooth asf.
I always loved the E30 couldn't find one that was clean enough so i settled for an E36 318is. The car is so fun to drive, super nimble and easy on gas. The 318is is lightest with a 180hp 4 cylinder engine. You dont need to do much to them. In stock form they already handle very well. Coilovers, bushings, wheels and tires and maybe a chip if you want, and it's an instant gokart. I thought E36's were ugly but after the 1st few months I fell in love. Opt for a 325i, 328i, or M3 if want a little more power.
It’s 140 horse mate 😂

Loved the vid! Ik a lot of people want the g35/g37 which I also want to see... But I'm really interested in the 300zx z31/z32, it'd be great if you did a vid on them!!
Came up on a 93 318is 5speed for the low n came with sum goodies like lowering springs, coilovers n weld diff. Really a fun car overall happy i bought one 😎
Just got one a few days ago. I’m in love already, just from the looks, to a whole new driving experience. It’s a quick car for what it is and very fun to drive whilst being rwd. I own a black 95 325i 2.5l
Hey there I run a e36 channel and would appreciate a your support for some bimmer goodness haha🤞🏽🖤

So what about the persistent WHERE IS THE SO YOU WANT A MINI COOPER OR COOPER S VIDEO!!!!! please 🙏
this ones intro at me i feel like, pretty good video if u ask me
Bought 9 months ago e36 318i, done a lot of small, big bigidiboom modifications, maaan..I freakishly looove that car :D even if it is lowered, on r17.. it's running smoothly..
Greetings from Serbia !!!
Went to this video, `cause I'm currently considering buying one. Found a nearly perfect one: garage kept, already equipped with the coilovers, on BBS wheels, full M3 body (bumpers and sideskirts), new roof (oh yeah, it's a convertible), engine fully rebuilt, new leather on the seats, Alpina wooden steering wheel and shift knob. The first time I saw the `99 car looks like a new one. Probably gonna buy it just cause of the look :)
owned a few e36s for like 13 years. was my first car too. now I have the hated 318is, hated because it's a 4 pot but more so because it's supercharged to like 260hp and makes all them 6pot owners cry a little. wide body with Hartge wheels, custom interior bits and a bit modernization with f20 seats :O.. I should email you some pics to rate my e36 ;)
CJ's Car Channel s14 swap 🤔 (from the e30 not the 240sx)
@@jorgeheraud8921 I have contemplated a swap before to a m62 but decided against it to keep a little purity. my idea was to make a slightly more modernised e36. suttle where it blends in but aggressive enough it can bite when needed
I had a 325i that was dedicated to autocross, and a 318is for a daily that had the LSD. Perfect for winter driving and daily driving. 600+ miles on a tank of gas is legendary in the 318
E36 m3 sedan is the most rare e36 of them all. Thankfully I have one
i have a 94 325 i convertible (auto) for cruising. And a 98 328i sedan (manual) for Fun .i cant wait to put suspension on them : ) This Car is almost 30 yrs old ! and still run like it should...love this car!
E36 might be everywhere but they are not the same, I got an 325is and I engine swap it with a S54 and that makes my baby unique
so you want a lexus IS300 (01-05) or the toyota altezza
