This could have been a legendary card if it had used the 7700xt/7800xt die....still, if you want current gen, more than 8 gigs of VRAM, and don't have at least $450 to spend..this is about the only options. If you also need VRAM for uses outside of gaming, then this might be one hell of a budget option.

I use an RX 7600 XT , haven't really tested any other cards and in local stores there are little options so i chose this card. I play some titles in 1440p and some on 4k (when the card can run them on a good frame rate) i liked the 16GB of vram and so far i m happy with my choice.

The RX 6800 was sort of the hidden gem of the RDNA 2 lineup. Here in Australia I see them occasionally for around the $450 AUD mark ($296 USD). That's great value. I sold my 6900 XT and was waiting for my 7900 XTX to be delivered so I though I'd try one out for a while. I overclocked one and played Sons of the Forest at 4K/Max Settings where I was getting a steady 60 FPS. Incredible performance for the price. I think if you're only looking to play at 1440p High or Ultra settings withg competitive FPS then you should absolutely be considering the RX 6800 non-XT.

I bought the Asus Tuff version. If fits my needs, and checks a couple of boxes. It's going to last me for a while.
I can't afford to buy a new GPU every couple years. The last new card I bought was a 5700xt, on release date. Back then I was coming from a 3 gig 1060 and I was thinking wow that 8 gigs of vram holy shit that's a lot that's really going to help me out and it did. So I'm thinking this will do the same. Also for the encoder, and my main reason besides gaming is for my stable diffusion. That 16 gigs of vram really really helps out a lot, it's like the difference between night and day compared to the old 5700xt. Now I have a good card that's still decent that I can give to my kid and she can have it to put in her rig besides rocking the integrated graphics on her 8700k.

I don't know why people keep thinking twice the vram is supposed to = twice the performance, or any kind of actual major performance bump. It's not there for that. Its extra ram to allow for higher quality textures and any other visual features that eat up vram making them impractical to use on a lower amount of vram, as in 12Gb or less. This wont matter much on most games yet. But it does matter if you want to run any game that eats up vram and needs 16gb to max out textures. Something like Company of Heroes 3, or the newer Resident Evil games for instance.
