    I'd highly recommend diluting apple cider vinegar with water to wash your private area with at least once a week. I usually do this when I am on my period or during the summer.
    It helps to deodorize, clean away bacteria, balance pH, basically everything it does for your hair. I also use this on my armpits. You'll feel so clean and fresh afterwards. The vinegar smell disappears after it dries.

    • @cheebak1615

      Isabel Cruz yes!!! You want to use mostly coconut oil and baking soda. Add the tea tree and eucalyptus to your liking. They are concentrated to try a little and gradually add more. I dont have an actual recipe i just know how much of everything works for me. I sweat a lot. I put mine in a container with a lid and store it in the fridge because coconut oil melts at 76 degrees. After its all solidified i cut it into chunks and wipe it under my arms. Now it would be easier if you used an old deoderant container.

  • @laurenelise98
    @laurenelise98 Před 7 lety +65

    I hate to burst your bubble but I believe that feminine washes are supposed to be acidic :(
    Dr. Bronners is are around 8.9 and your vagina is 3.5-4.5 (like your skin in general). I know using products that are too alkaline on the face disrupt the acid mantle and allow for bacteria to cause more harm to the skin. I assume something similar happens down there.
    I used regular soap for forever and noticed a big difference in odor from bacteria (TMI) when I switched to a pH balanced wash. That could be accredited to my diet as I gave up the common foods people have intolerances to but anytime I eat bad now I don't have a problem with bacteria smell. Hope this helps

      I actually just made a comment about this lol! Would you then say that Dr. Bronners soaps are too alkaline for your face/skin in general as well since the pH is so high? I used to use it but I stopped when I heard that, although I've heard a ton of conflicting things from people who use it on their face and love it.

    • @blusky5342
      @blusky5342 Před 7 lety +2

      inthislight trust me from experience. It took me a while to get the perfect ph balance. Showers are best, use soap non scented the best is 365 unscented. That's the only soap I use and I swear never odor or issues. And I shave with the same soap. Ladies keep it very simple down there.

    Hi, I'm a chemist and I want to say that washing the vaginal area with something other than just water is a serious mistake, you can get hurt. I also say this from my own experience.
    Do not shave the vaginal area, just cut the hair, it is more hygienic

    • @beautybybritanie
      @beautybybritanie Před 7 lety

      Adriana Lara Mendoza Do you mean just the inside or are you saying not to wash the entire area including the outside and if you don't shave, what do you recommend washing the hair with? Doesn't it need more than just water?

    • @3146973
      @3146973 Před 7 lety +35

      even though the vagina does clean itself it doesn't all the time, there are days when it isnt moist but a bit dry, when it's dry odors tend to occur and hair is known for trapping bacteria, some of us are married women, with no kids so we have intercourse and oral sex a bit more often so down there needs to be in check, when you are single it's different, I know TMI but I'm just being real.

    • @minimalassembly7893
      @minimalassembly7893 Před 7 lety +13

      No. There is biology involved as well. That area should be cleansed with a neutral ph or acidic soap, especially in the Summer time. Skin accumulates oils and dead skin that is hydrophobic (water cannot dissolve). Most bar soaps have lipids to dissolve it. Liquid soaps have mild surfactants to dissolve oils and loosen dead skin. As long as the soap is not too basic with high ph or antibacterial, it should be fine to use in the vaginal area, not internally. There are many gentle natural soap options at health food stores like the one Alba mentioned (Emerita) and others like Acure, Alaffia, Soapbox. Drugstores like Walmart and CVS also have some like Soapbox, Aveeno liquid soap and many more ph balanced soaps in the Baby aisles. Stay fresh ladies.

      YayYaysCorner All you need is some unscented soap, don't need anything too fancy! I use Tom's brand for my soap, they have an unscented soap for sensitive skin, and that's what I use. It's good to stay away from scented products, because they can cause irritation and throw off your pH, causing odor, which no one wants lol

    Amazing video, Alba! I learned about dry brushing from you last year, and will try it soon. I have loved using Dr. Bronner’s Castille Soap on my body since 2015, and use it on my vagina which is fine too. Since earlier this year, I’ve been using Honey Pot’s Normal Wash which I love, and somehow lost my first bottle this past October that was almost done. For organic deodorant, I use a crystal rock deodorant, and have Jason’s Lavender stick which I love, and use Schmidt Natural’s Jasmine Green Tea deodorant since earlier this year which is okay. For wipes, I started using Honey Pot Company’s Normal Wipes for my vagina also earlier year when I started using their Normal Wash which I love both. For body lotion, I usually would use Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil and/or SheaMoisture Shea Butter Lotion and/or SheaMoisture Tamanu Lotion. That Honest Company spray deodorant would probably do me well! So I need to purchase more organic deodorants to see what other ones work best for me to have different kinds.

    An absolutely fool proof deodorant that I've been using for ages now is to squeeze lime juice on your hands, rub on your armpits, then get some coconut oil, melt it in your hands and rub on your armpits. It keeps forever too - I often go days without using anything at all and there's no BO:D

It seem like alot if you're not use to that routine but its my daily ritual to myself/ my health. Target had %15 off dr bronners & I went cray😃. I do have to try that body lotion with aloe & shea. That is so true about natural deodorants. I used Primal Pit Paste for a couple of years on and off. I liked it a lot but recently switched to the All Good brand in the Rose Geranium & Jasmine scent. You should try it out : ) It has a very pleasant smell and feel to it as well. It is one that I have noticed lasts nearly all day, even in humid, sweat prone environment. No sticky residue either. Love you Alba. Your videos are always so peaceful and informative. Xo xo xo
