In this first segment, I’ll show you how I built the foundation, frame work, and roof for my new portable generator enclosure. The dimensions can be modified easily to anything you wish in order to fit your own portable generator.
Note: This is Part 1 of a series, showing the construction of my new portable generator enclosure design. You’ll want to subscribe, and “ring the bell” on my CZcams channel to make sure you are notified as each new segment is released.

If you choose to build this portable generator enclosure in the metric system, simply round off the numbers given in the dimensions in order to make it easier for you to build it. None of these dimensions are hard and fast, and in fact, feel free to alter the dimensions. Make them taller or shorter, wider or narrower, etc. as is necessary to make the size you wish. The measurements given in the drawings can be regarded as general guidelines for that very purpose.

Uncanny. yesterday pre-assembled my generator enclosure. The design is VERY similar to what you built. I will be posting the final in-place assembly in a few weeks on my channel. My material cost so far is < $250.
My cost was close to nothing (just a couple of bags of concrete mix) because I built mine from leftover/scrap materials. In fact, I based my design on what materials I had on hand that I didn't have to buy. That's pretty much the way things usually go around here. I tend to be quite frugal.

Me too! Actually, this is as far as I could go before the snow fell and winter set in last year. When winter comes here in Downeast Maine, it comes very fast, without warning, and with a vengeance! It simply got too cold to work outside. I'd like to get it finished before the snow flies this year, and I'm planning on using OSB. I'll video the operation and that will be "Part 2." Right now, I'm racing against the calendar to get my 18' sailboat hull constructed before it gets too cold for adhesives/epoxy to cure. Video quality should be greatly improved in all future videos as we just had wireless internet service made available and installed today. It replaces the old DSL crappy internet service we've been using that only allowed me to make videos in low definition - but now they will be made and uploaded in high def.
