I was actually an extra in this movie, in the pep rally/bonfire scenes. They burned the head of the rival school's mascot and when they set it on fire we could feel the heat of it from at least 50 feet back. Also a fun fact, party/dancing scenes are actually shot without music and the music gets added in later, so we were all there dancing in silence making sure not to look at the cameras. It was kind of strange but fun.
I work as an extra too and dancing to nothing is always awkward 😂😂😂
So Jaime's edits of the sneaker squeaks in a silent room are hilariously accurate 😂
I always figured that was the case because no one is ever dancing to the beat or anything lol do they tell you at least if it’s a slow dance song or if you’re supposed to be raving or what?! lol

This is basically a Disney Channel movie that somehow got a theatrical release. An unpopular guy becomes popular through magical means, end up in a love triangle with a Girl Next Door and Catty Girl, and discovers that popularity isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I’d argue this is worse and way more gross than a Disney Channel movie. At least there wouldn’t be so many adults being sexual towards a teen.

Ah yes, my favorite "this never happens in actual high school" plot- the very conventionally attractive newcomer showing up and instantly being an outcast. Twilight actually gets it right that every time a new person shows up and they're at least somewhat good-looking they have attention on them for at least a week or two.

I will say this as a native Connecticut girl: this guy wouldn't have had to do anything to get popular. Literally being a blond pretty boy from California would have been enough to get him a ton of friends within barely a day. How do I know? It's literally happened at my school, and I am not from a small town, it's just there is this idea that all California people are effortlessly cool.
I lived in a small town in Utah and any new person was instantly popular no matter where they were from. As long as they didn't pick their nose or smell bad, we were all like "oooh someone from somewhere else! Tell us of the outside world!" 😂

I feel bad for Ross Lynch because he’s such a good actor if he could just better roles. He was really good as Jeffery Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer. The scene with his friend towards the end really gave me the creeps.
He's focusing more on singing these days. He hasn't acted since Sabrina ended.
he really is amazing. it was cool to see him do such a massive character stretch as jeffrey dahmer. that whole movie was just brilliant, and you could tell that they researched everything meticulously.

Hands down the best "be careful what you wish for" movie is Lilo and Stitch. She wished upon a shooting star for a friend in return Stitch ruined her stuff, nearly got her killed multiple times then she was kidnapped 🙃

I always hate wish premises because the characters always wish for the stupidest things in the world. Then they're like oh my life still sucks/I prefer who I used to be, I'm always just like obviously, you don't know how to wish for a single good thing.

As always, I love Jamie's content. Lately some friends and I came across a ridiculous 2004 flick starring Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen called New York Minute. There's poorly aged jokes, wild shenanigans, twin mishaps and Eugene Levy for some reason. Here's hoping she gets around to reviewing that one some day!

Ok, you know how Christina Aguilera or someone will be singing but instead of just staying on the one note she’s supposed to hold she’ll start jumping up and down the notes around it with vibrato, adding extra flourishes that aren’t technically needed, they’re only there to try and make it sound ‘fancier’???
Like, someone sings the National Anthem before a game, but instead of just singing the normal notes like; “and the landdddd - of the freeeee.” They’ll do, “and the laaa-aaaa-annn, oh, oho-woooah, oooooooo-ooooh yeeeah -freeeee!” riff taking what should have been like 6 notes and 2 measures and somehow making it into 35 notes that sounds sort of pompous???

That show is completely underrated. It's literally the funniest show out right now, and has been for the last couple years now.
I get so invested in these videos, I forget she's not my friend in real life, when she referenced him from Jeffrey Dahmer (also the reason he sleeps like a psycho), my jaw dropped. Unironically, I adore the labyrinth. It is so fun and whimsical. And the songs are amazing, the puppets are all iconic, and the costuming. Wow! I love the whole adventure with a strong female lead just being a lead, without any kind of preaching at us. Outside of the fact that we need to appreciate the people we have around us while they're there.

Fun fact: the last scene had a last-minute reshoot, which is why Ross’s hair looks so different from shot to shot. They were originally going to kiss on stage & they cut that kiss and added the end scene.

OH MY GOD FINALLY FINALLY Someone talking about this film!!!!!!! I went to see this in CINEMAS! at the grand age of 18! I was disgusted, shocked, I wanted to leave. I have looked and looked for anyone doing commentary on it, and have NEVER seen it. It got to the point I either thought I'd COMPLETELY imagined it or it just couldn't have possibly been as bad as I thought. FINALLY.
