    Salman Saheb.
I am also a railway hobbyist of PR
There are atleast 4 narrow gauge steam engines of Zhob Valley Railway (ZVR) preserved - out of 6 engines used on ZVR. When i say preserved, it means they have all the working parts and painted but just not fired in many years. These are preserved as monumnets infront of different railways stations and railway buildings. #46 is infront of Multan Cantt Station. This one also has a plaque next to it which says ‘present status: good working condition.’
#54 was at Railway Golf Course in Lahore but then moved to Gujranwala station, #57 is infront of Railway HQ building in Lahore, and #74 is at Quetta Station.
Serial #62's last documented sighting was at Moghalpura in February 2006 and present condition is unknown and the last one with serial #65 was last spotted in Jan 1999 at Bostan and not seen since then.
As for the broad gauge steam loco at Moghalpura - it is fully functional. Infact just couple of days ago it pulled an excursion train between Lahore and Narowal for Sikh visitors.
I have read your 'breakfast at Kan Mehtarzai' in 2007-08 and I am a big fan. I have also watched each and every video of 'aik musafir ki dunya.'

Dear Sir! We share this sense of loss and associated grief with you. In 1994/1995 Dhamaka Express led by steam locos used to ply between Lala Musa or Malakwal and Sargodha Jn. Dhamaka was a popular name but actual name was something else. It used to complete two trips between the two stations therefore sight of steam engine at Sargodha was not an uncommon one. Other rail entities in those days common between Sargodha - Kundian & Kundian - Rawalpindi were Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) aka Rail Cars. It seems the DMUs predeceased the steam locos in Pakistan.

In India we are lucky that hardly any rail route whether it it narrow gauze or meter gauze or any other has been closed. All routes has been either converted to broad gauze or are being maintained into their original gauze. The steam engines has been replaced by diesel engines and now deisel engines are further been replaced by electric engines.
