MONSTER Fish Caught from the Beach

- In this episode of BlacktipH, I go fishing for giant tarpon from the beach during the annual mullet run with a fan. We were using the drone to deploy live mullet into the ocean and then strategically place the fish near a large predator. In the first several hours, Trevor had several tarpon and jacks eat his mullet off the drone. We lost every fish we hooked. The mullet schools had disappeared, the winds were increasing, and we were about to give up. While walking back to the car, I noticed another large school of mullet. I yelled, "This is it"! I deployed the drone and within a few minutes, I was hooked up to a giant tarpon! This giant fish fought very hard, making several hard runs and jumping almost entirely out of the water. After a 30-minute fight, I grabbed the fish and brought it to the beach. This tarpon was definitely over 100lbs; it was a giant!

Nice catch, I used to go Tarpon fishing with my buddy grandfather long time ago. My grandfather broke the record once in Honduras weighing 211 pounds but we let it go. A few years later my grandfather died from lung cancer. I haven't gone fishing ever since he died.

At least you know you’re in a spot with fish activity. When the sea gulls are active there’s baitfish in the area, and the larger predators ain’t far off.

If you peruse your goals you can do anything you want to,bass fishing is really fun too keep trying you will get it!!!!
Summers here man, mow lawns or go talk to a rod builder/repair man and tell him you'll trade labour for a combo and some tips, buy yourself one of those new fancy electric scooters and you're set for sending some line. Find a local fishing page and ride share to the beach if youre too far away
Such an insanely powerful fish, I had a 6 1/2 footer on for about 2 hours and got him to the side of our boat. Truly a humbling experience.

Christian Haugland it’s a kite clip- the same clip we use with kites or balloons for sailfish etc. you can adjust the grip so it pops perfectly.

qorps eats kids I’ve only caught one tarpon so far, about 50lbs. It was a pretty unique catch just for the fact that I was standing in the middle of a draw bridge
Once was In my kayak with a speckled trout carcass drifting hoping to catch a 2 or 3 foot shark. Ended up hooking a 6ft tarpon that pulled me over half a mile off the shore. Took about 2 hours to land, was an insane fight
Went on a small charter boat in Puerto Rico and it’s swarming with tarpon. Probably had a bite every 10 minutes, but only ended up landing six. I saw one swimming against the mangroves that had to be over 7 foot long, the fin was about two feet out of the water. The biggest one I landed was about 50 pounds.
Caught a pretty decent tarpon on a fly rod and it was the fight of my life
Went to key west this summer with a charter and caught a 125 pounder. Was a 2 hour fight but worth every minute 😁

Def another even bigger tarpon. They work small groups like that around bait schools. They are powerful beautiful fish.

A shimano stella and hus rod is a custom I believe, with probably 50 pound braid and a 60 pound leader

Great catch......... but it is going to cost you once FWC takes a look at the video...... against the law to raise any Tarpon above the water line over 40"..... I know you dint mean to but holding a fish that large does internal organ damage
