Top 5 Largest Sharks Caught

- In this episode, we recall the Top Five largest sharks ever caught on BlacktipH. Number Five was a massive bull shark I pulled up while fishing for amberjacks on a deep wreck. This shark was 9'7" and weighed more than 600lbs! Number four was a shortfin mako shark that I caught fishing in 80ft of water off Tampa Bay. This mako shark was over 10 feet long and weighed between 600-700lbs. Number three was a huge hammerhead shark that I helped my buddy Dan catch off the beach. This shark measured over 13ft and weighed over 700lbs. Number Two was the first grander (1000+lb) shark ever filmed on the show. It was a massive 14ft, 1000lb tiger shark. Number One was the 14'7" hammerhead shark I caught with the world-famous golfer, Greg Norman. This shark was truly massive, weighing over 1200lbs!

I get amused when people wrap the leader around their hands and expect the fish not to rip their hand off when it runs. #1 rule of tug of war.
My thought exactly- thought the fish would drag him into the water. Wrapping line around hand is a bad choice!

Days of ocean giants are over! They use giant for ratings and views want real giants get a time machine! Sharks were much larger before people started putting stress on shark populations as we do to them now.

Caught my third shortfin mako this past summer, shark fishing will never get old... Especially catching a mako. When they break water it's just amazing 😍
I couldnt imagine what having some of these on would be like. I've had only a 4 to 5 foot black tip on and it felt like I was reeling a boulder

Man I caught a 60 pound batray in 20 degree temps. After 20 mins, I was so hot I was just wearing a tank top lol.
Wow, I remember each of those episodes, but by far my favourite was with Greg Norman. Not because of the size of the fish... well, that's part of it... but because he is such a great guy. Those are the sharks of my dreams/nightmares. Epic Josh. The Hammerhead video is one of my all time favorites. Especially when The Shark jumped in the water with the Hammerhead. Legendary.

Grew up on the southwest Florida Gulf Coast you guys always make me homesick. Grew up catching sharks and diving in the keys. I need to go home soon. Mountains are nice but there's not half as much to do. In any case the ocean has my heart more than the land.

Amazing video. Mako sharks have always been my favorite ocean predator. So amazingly fast. I believe they can hit speeds of 30mph plus. I never even dreamed of them being that big. Everything I have seen in video always showed 7 to 8 footers. I liked rooting for the little guy. That blew my mind. I will say however that I was blasted with about five ad breaks during the video. Kinda took me out of it to be honest.

Tyronnosaurus It’s only for a split second. As the shark is swimming away look to the right and you’ll see what looks like another fin. It’s at like 6:45 and is a split second before the wave crashes.

Maybe one day I will be able to afford to go fishing with you. That top 5 was great, people don't realize the size any gape of sharks, that hammer can open its mouth wider than it looks. That's the one asset that a shark has among others, thanks for remarkable videos.

This video is the best record of your fishing and your clients fishing. You my friend are one hell of a fisherman and without a doubt, if I ever get the chance I will come back to Florida and for a week hire you to get the big 3 of fish, tarpon, snook and bonefish. And the other big 3, yellow fin tuna, shark, and blue fin tuna.

Epic video! Suggestion though, try getting a drone view of your sharks when you have them tail roped at the boat. Would definitely help with size comparison. I know time is important just a suggestion. It’s a giant!!!
