- I can't wait to share this new easel with you - it's been a game changer in my outdoor painting - well, actually, I love it so much that I've been using it in the studio too. Sandi, I just love how you review things, and try things out. You're just so enthusiastic and positive. Love love love the twinkling stars....reminds me of our last camping trip. I just found this video. I've been on the hunt for a new easel to replace the one I have in Reno. The one I have in Reno, I'm going to leave at my condo in Maui so I can do some plein air whenever I go to Maui, which is four times a year. Thank you, this looks like a really good set up and I appreciate the thorough review you did.

Your product videos have been so interesting and timely for me lately! I’ve purchased several items after seeing your reviews, including that table easel and the full set of Neocolor II (which is actually how I found you - looking for reviews of that.) I discovered the Leder Easel a few months ago, and unfortunately it was “too late” for me, but I did recommend it to someone else as something which appeared to be a good option for plein air. She hasn’t purchased it yet, but I’ll direct her to your video and maybe your review and the discount code will prompt her to. In my case I had cobbled together a kit from a compact size canvas/panel holder from Sienna Plein Air (same brand as your tripod) and a palette holder from Easel Butler, on which I set a Richeson “French Companion” palette box. Had I seen the Leder Easel before buying those components, I very likely would have purchased it instead. I do enjoy those other products, but the canvas holder in particular is very heavy. The Easel Butler is based on a concept very similar to that of the Leder Easel palette holder, and also has those grippy rings, but the Leder Easel palette holder looks much more refined and appears to be more adjustable. It’s not clear if one may be sturdier than the other, but the whole design with the arms was new to me and it makes so much sense and is so versatile. A tip, if you’re in any situation in which you’re worried about a palette box sliding off the “arms” of the palette holder, or the tripod tipping forward - bungee cords work really well. You can add D-rings to a wooden palette box and use small bungees to secure it around the tripod legs. You could probably find a way to do something similar with a box made from another material, too. It doesn’t look like this has been a problem for you, though. And great paintings!

You are so creative ! I have one of those magnetic closure boxes from a gift set of essential oils. I kept it becaise it was so sturdy and nice and now I know exactly how to use it. AWESOME share! ❤

Long videos are great! Sounds like most of the cons can be reworded as pros, such as, lots of adjusting=customizable. And I love the flower painting behind you!

I own a Leder Easel, but I've been having trouble figuring out how to bring it out into the field. For the most part, I use it in my backyard or inside in my studio. Thank you for showing your set up with the easel and your art supplies. Your idea of setting it up at home first and then dropping it into place in the field is a great idea. Watching you carry it along with your chair, tripod and art bag is comforting. If you can do it, I'm sure I can too. :)

Very nice review it looks like you found a winner! This is so random...but I wasn't sure if you had heard Liquitex now has an acrylic gouache in the squeazy top bottles that dried completely Matte!!! :) Thought you would want to know...I know I would lol. XD

Hi Sandi,Thanks so much for reviewing the Leder easel,it looks just the job,I’m really impressed with how portable it is,I could tell how comfortable it was for you to use.Im tempted to get one to use in my work place just as a change from my tabletop easel I could move it around the room to catch the light in the right places.Glad you remembered to get up and stretch,I get so engrossed working that my back can start playing up,the Doctor advised me to set a cooker timer going to remind me to actually move 🤣🤣didn’t try it as I thought it would make me jump!

Your videos are always so inspiring and fun. I love the green monochromatic paintings. they do feel like nite and winter. I got rid of my French easel a while back. It was just so unweildy. But, I love this one and am impressed how it works inside. I have very little room and my regular easel is rarely used because of this. I might need to give this a try!

Liquitex soft body is really nice but it is a personal preference so you might want to try both
