Dallas’ main weakness is the others. Everyone hid behind Luka and Kyrie and didn’t do their jobs. Everyone needs to call out PJ, DJJ, Maxi, Gafford, Tim, and Exum for acting like JV players in the most important game of their lives. Plus having your whole team start out so poorly was purely on the coaching staff. That was a total failure on their part. Don’t concentrate on Luka and Kyrie. Call the others out by name!

I'm not disrespecting the Clippers, but they didn't make Dallas shoot 20% (or whatever it was) in the first half. Nothing was falling. I saw some possessions with 3 missed layups. They did successfully take away the lob game, but we couldn't buy a shot. I'd say the only thing we learned was that the Clippers without Kawhi can still be a pretty good team.

you are somehow right but also the Clippers made it as difficult as possible for the Mavs. Zubac toyed our center players around especially in rebounding, second chances etc. the Clippers came prepared, the Mavs trusted the process to get into the game. Mavs the whole season had the problems when shits not falling and others than Kai and Luka not showing up. And the Clippers also forced that honestly. Next game Luka will take over from minute one I just hope he doesn't overpace. The Clippers not shooting over 50% again and the Mavs not shooting under 30% again ... I hope so. The Clippers came POs ready and the Mavs just slept the first two quarters, there was no pressure. I also hope that Luka doesn't get frustrated with his teammates because he knows he needs them. He never screamed at someone like he did with Kleber and they are actually friends too.

Mavs had a lot of good looks but just didn’t make them. I saw Kyrie do a bounce pass from half court to someone and he went for a reverse and absolutely bricked. Shots weren’t falling and you can tell they weren’t because 8 points in a quarter is insane work💀

The problem was simply that the ball didn't want to go in for the Mavs, just a bad game.
Just look at the role players numbers: 0/4, 1/5, 1/4, 1/5, 0/5... you CAN'T win like that when LAC role players were landing their shots, PG and Harden made very contested 3s while Luka and Kyrie were missing by mere inches or the ring spitting the ball out each time.
Just a regular night of Luka and this game is tied or even won by the Mavs, just a regular game by the role players and DAL wins easily.
i agree, dallas knows what to do game 2 intensity goes way up. I am thinking dallas blows out clippers in first half clippers make it kinda close but dallas wins by 8 in game 2.

Haliburton on team USA? MAN! make it make sense committee....God Kyrie became the first player ever to score 20+ points in a single quarter without a miss in a NBA Playoffs game. He did this in the third quarter, tallying 20 points on 8/8 shooting and 2/2 from three-point range.
Plus, old adage: a series doesnt really begin until the home team loses!
It's probably a fit issue not a skill issue. Haliburton is a better playmaker than Kyrie. With how the rest of team USA turned out, they'll need someone to set everyone up and haliburton is that guy.

They didn’t stop anyone. Luka missed a ton of wide open shots. If you watch him enough you will see he has games like this. Kyrie too

Luka has to play some defense! He was letting guys go right by him and drawing the big defender in and giving Zubac an offensive rebound on the backside. Luka is 10 years younger than Harden and couldn't cover him at all

The Mavs' complementary players have to turn up. It can't just be Luka and Kyrie doing the heavy lifting. Tim Hardaway Junior is the ultimate feast or famine guy. Maybe he shows up for game two.
I see nobody noticed how they kept attacking luka sending out picks to get luka to switch as the on ball defender and make him work and get him tired when he comes back down on the offensive end and also get an easier look cause he’s not really good on D

The Clippers coasted in most of the regular season games after the all star break because they knew the playoffs is where it matters the most. Luka’s defence was pissing me off. Watching him complain to the ref while casually guarding harden and harden drop a 3pt made me shut the tv.
The fact that 6 years into his career he’s still taking possessions off to argue with officials, shooting them dirty looks after most of his drives, jogging back up the floor when he doesn’t get a whistle, and just traffic-coning on some of the drives when he’s guarding on-ball is his most annoying trait. If he dedicated as much effort to defense as he did to complaining, it would really go a long way. Not saying he’d be elite, but he’d at least be competent. I know he’s had good defensive metrics this season, but my eyes aren’t lying to me when I see him doing absolutely nothing on the defensive end of the floor.

I used to love JJ Reddick, but he’s a Luka hater now so I’m a JJ Reddick hater now too. Luka must go into Luka mode and win this series. J Kidd did not have his team ready for this game.
