DJ GIG LOG: The Ultimate Load-In Challenge: New Pond Farm in Redding, CT 🚚💍 + Everse 8

  • Join me on a journey to New Pond Farm in Redding, CT, where I faced one of the most challenging load-ins ever. With the wedding tent perched atop a muddy hill 100 yards from the closest parking, I had to conquer it all with my trusty rock ’n roller cart.
    Despite the daunting setup, I created a magical atmosphere for the bride and groom. I also introduced a new ceremony setup featuring the EV Everse 8, a small, lightweight, battery-powered system with mic receiver capabilities. I utilized the Sennheiser G4 lavaliere as my professional system and the Comica C3 as secondary mics. While the Comica C3 performed admirably, its 2.4GHz spectrum nature made it susceptible to interference, a valuable lesson for mic selection.
    Although the dance segment didn’t make it into this gig log due to a minor mishap, the overall experience was a memorable and fun gig that I can’t wait to share with you.

      I like the DJI mics. While I like the ease of use of these 2.4 Ghz mics, i would be leery of using it as my main...Things like cellphones operate on the same frequency. They work but I'm more concern about when they don't and whether they would be more prone to drop outs. I also think with these mics, you have to be line of sight to be sure they work properly. I like the sennheiser G4 lav because it's small and portable and i'm able to scan for a frequency that is optimal for each specific location. I feel more at ease with that particular situation, therefore I reinforce with the comica and not replace. No mic is 100 perfect though.

    Hello. I need help answering a question. I live in Russia. I bought a new Everse 8. It was undercharged. I put it on AC charging, as written in the instructions, for 24 hours. It was located next to the speaker. The dimly lit display shows information about the current battery charge. After about 10 minutes, the display began to blink randomly for several seconds, nothing strange in appearance, as if this is how it should work with electric currents passing inside the charger, then the display glowed faintly again for several minutes, and again a short blink. Is this normal for Everse 8 when charging from the mains in the off state? I have never had speakers with such displays before, there is only a JBL EON ONE Compact. But it has an LED display, not an indicator panel. Therefore, I do not know if this display behavior is normal for Everse 8, as I wrote, or not? I am grateful in advance to those who will answer! There is nowhere else to ask in Russia. There is nothing about Everse 8 on Russian CZcams except my amateur videos. I have to ask on foreign CZcams channels.

    • @lavishlifedjs
      @lavishlifedjs  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hmm. I’ve never really notice this kind of behavior but I’ll check next time I take the Everse out

    • @georgchekinoff239
      @georgchekinoff239 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thank you. I figured it out. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I was told that this is how the charger can react to high currents in the electrical network, reducing them to the desired ones when charging the speaker off. I live in Russia. There is no one to ask. And I have a couple more questions. The battery life of my Everse 8 outdoors when using all three channels simultaneously: microphone, guitar, soundtracks at maximum volume is less than 3 hours. Does anyone have such a result? At the same time, at home, when music is played over a single Bluetooth channel with the usual volume for a living area of 28 square meters and a sound pressure of about 80 dB, according to the noise meter mobile application, the result was obtained at 17 o'clock. I have been checking this on a timer for several days. Are 6 hours at 121 dB and 12 hours at 95 dB indicated in the passport for one channel or for all three? Thank you.

    • @georgchekinoff239
      @georgchekinoff239 Před 7 měsíci

      A little bit of math. I also have a JBL Eon One Compact 2020, which has a claimed power of 150 watts. Its lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 6100 mAh at an operating voltage of 14.8 volts. The power of this battery is 90.28 wh. Now Everse 8. The power of the amplifier is 400 watts, the capacity of the lithium-ion battery is 6000 mAh, the voltage is 14.4 volts. The power is 86.4 wh. What's happening? Due to the more than 2.5 times greater power of the Everse 8 amplifier compared to the power of the JBL amplifier (400 vs. 150) and the slightly lower power of the Everse 8 battery compared to the JBL battery (86.4 vs. 90.28), manufacturers of both speakers claim the same operating time, an average volume of 12 hours and a maximum volume of 6 hours. One in one! But judging by their amplifiers and batteries, this can't be happening. Don't you think so? I agree that Everse 8 is more powerful and louder than JBL, I have seen this from personal experience, comparing them on the street, but, alas, this is due to the loss of autonomy. Not everyone knows or guesses about this. Otherwise, it doesn't scare me. The main thing for me is sound, and in Everse 8 it is better for my ears. I just need to use it wisely, optimizing for my needs, and then it will last longer

    • @georgchekinoff239
      @georgchekinoff239 Před 7 měsíci

      We also mathematically equalize their batteries for the convenience of counting. 86.4 wh = 90.28 wh. Everse 8 with its 400W amplifier is divided into a compact JBL Eon One with a power of 150W = 2,6! (400 / 150 = 2.6) This means that at maximum volume, the battery discharge of the Everse 8 will be 2.6 times greater than that of the JBL. The batteries are the same. The question is, which column will discharge first? Everse 8 or JBL? According to these calculation formulas, it is clear that Everse 8 works faster, but everywhere in advertising they write about 6 hours, but in fact less than 3. Therefore, I wondered if this was a malfunction or not. Now I understand that it is not. It's just that very few people have tested Jbl eon one compact and Everse 8 as well as I have, if only because not everyone has them both at once)
