It's amazing to see Ed's tone journey through the years. In the late 70s/early 80s, his tone was almost bone dry ( and cranked to the max ). But after Sammy joined, he had that Eventide which gave it a " wider " sound. In the 90s, it became more refined and even thicker. Here, in 1993, you can almost hear the " Balance " tone which he would pursue more into 95-96. As much as I liked what he did with Gary all the way to the Roth years of 2007-2015, this era is my favorite tone of Ed's.
Man !!!! Sure miss the King of the 6 string's.. You can feel the passion and love he had for music in every Note 🎵🎶. E.V.H. was a true American Musical Master.. He was a true Musician's , Musician.. I have to admit, I shed a few tears while watching this amazing video.. Actually, a amazing piece of history.. Rest in Peace Mr. Van Halen , you are and always will be loved and deeply missed.🎶🎵🙏

I saw Van Halen 20 times through out the years I wish it could’ve been a 100. I believe I saw the Beethoven of our time. The world isn’t the same without him. Long Live The Mighty Van Halen! 🎸☝🏽✊🏽

Miss ED everyday. If you can get the book Eruption in the Canyon, which is about spending 212 days at 5150. And Ross Halfin's book. He was a photog that toured with many band for decades. His book on Eddie is huge. Weighs like 6 pounds and is about 15 inches in length. A lot of unpublished photos.

Eddie broke the mold. Saw VH on the fair warning tour 81 and 83 at the forum and US festival. Saw the 04 with Sammy and the 07 with Roth. Going to miss seeing the band that made me want to play the guitar. Rip Ed
he must have been in a mood on this night - I haven't seen/heard this version of the solo before.. the intro was different and mixing in elements of "From Afar" off VH3 in the 316 portion...then a little bit of Judgement Day in there

Unchained was next.... he played that right after the solo. YOur correct. They played 5150 only on the european leg not the american one so no 5150 it was unchained

This sounds SO much better than RHRN. The guitar is more raw and snarling. THIS is what he sounded like live back then. Made the hair on your neck stand up.
