I think what he's showing here is that he still has what it takes to play one of the hardest solos he or anyone came up with almost 40 years later! The world was in shock when they released their first VH album in 1978.

Saw them on their first tour in 78 in Birmingham, AL. It was a Journey/Montrose/Van Halen concert and they opened. Their first album had just come out and they played all of the songs off of that album in order. Running With the Devil was the only song on the radio at that time. Opening with Eruption had everyone's jaws on the floor. Montrose and Journey were kind of anti-climatic after Van Halen.

    • @afterburner2869

Inge Kvam There may be a lot of shredders around, but they all sound homogeneous. Eddie has a unique sound and style of his own that nobody quite duplicates. When you hear Eddie, you know it’s him. He is melodic in his shredding, all the notes come together in a very musical way whereas most shredders just throw out as many notes as fast as possible. EVH is the man!🤘🏻
