FASTEST BOEING 747 DEPARTURE EVER - 15 Seconds Take - Off Run of a B747 (HD)

  • This Boeing 747 of Wamos Air performed the fastest Boeing 747 take-off run I have ever seen. Just have a look at the "rubber-marks" on runway 23L. The aircraft rotated just near touchdown area which is just incredible. I counted about 15 seconds till the nose lifted up. The B747 was completly empty and departed back home to Madrid after operating a few flights for Sun Express. Wamos Air is a frequent visitor at Düsseldorf. Whenever an Airline needs a backup plane Wamos visits us to help out.
I also incuded a few Boeing 747` s I filmed at Hahn back in the days, when we still had snow in Germany. I am waiting for snow since about two months now and to be honest after watching the 14 day forecast a few minutes ago I do not expect snow anytime soon.
Thanks for watching, new videos every tuesday and friday.

I still recall getting off of the bus, looking up at this huge machine, and saying to myself, "It's impossible for anything this big to fly.." We have the B747-400F in at our airfield regularly. I have to carry out runway inspections after every departure up to the lift off point, as it all depends on your runway width with regards to regulatory compliance. On a good day, when operating light with a bit of headwind, they can get up using about 850m of runway with derated thrust. Pretty incredible!

I'm telling you, that big boy flat hooked 'em up during the takeoff roll. Felt more like a business jet. The one we took from DFW to Tel Aviv, loaded with 400 passengers and 7000 miles, took seemingly FOREVER to rotate. I was waiting for the crash after we ran out of runway....LOL

I fell in love with a 747 as a child in the 1970s - I remember when we would fly KLM, after the plane had reached cruising altitude, some of the pilots would have the stewardesses invite any kids on the plane to see the cockpit. I *had* to have the miniature KLM 747 they sold, and the fascination with planes, flight, and particularly the 747 was sparked and never left

Having served an International Airline for 33 years , I can proudly state that the comfort and safety that this Aircraft offered was unparalleled.. the reason that these giant flying machines have been withdrawn is due to the advent of fuel efficient and technologically advanced B777s , B787s , AB330/340 .. but the B747s , fondly called the Jumbos , have the best safety records .. cheers

Flown about 150 times on 747-400 (and -200 long ago). Take-off roll is typically anywhere from 30 to 55 seconds, depending upon passengers, cargo, fuel load. A loaded long-haul flight (like DTW-NRT 13 hrs) may take 55 seconds. A seasonal commuter flight (747 short-haul) or a shorter international flight (like NRT-BKK 6 hrs) might take just 30 seconds to airborne. B747 is a powerful beast, but when fully loaded for long-haul can easily use up nearly the entire runway, just a few seconds after wheels up no more runway.

What was the deal with the water salute for that last Lufthansa? Retiring the bird (or perhaps the captain?)
Also, really nice catching the mostly-unmarked bird... For just a second the tail number stood out very clearly, and I looked it up. It's an official bird of the state of Qatar.

It seems only yesterday the first 747 went in to service. Sexy, jaw dropping planes, everyone wanted to fly on them.
It's sad to see them living their final days as mundane cargo carriers, but better than the graveyard.
Sounds like an allegory of my life really. :)

Great plane, I've never flown on one, but I have the A380 and they are magnificent

  • @Bridging_the_Political_Divide

People really dont realize how light planes are for their size. Sure, they are "heavy" to us, but for how huge they are, quite light for their size. Walk around under a jumbo and its mind blowing how huge it is. Very light.....for their immense size.
