They are saying the have samrt charging enabled (battery conservation mode in lenovo vantage/vantage widget) thats y battery is draining by 1% per 1/2 min, y giving 60wh battery and this mode make no sense, it would have with more wh battery. I'll follow ur tips to get new power brick, lets hope they will accept it.👍👍👍😄

also use conservation mode from vantage... don't keep the battery @100 if you are using it on charger & you know that you are going to use it for longer period....
my 2021 ideapad gaming 3 still has 94% battery health.. i started using conservation mode after 6 months of purchase.. its very helpful as I'm all time plugged in because i use 3d softwares and use external 2k monitor... so plugged in and battery automatically stays between 60-65

HX just allows for undervolting which allows for cooler temps without losing performance.

Laptop is still the same. It'll pull the same power as it needs. It's not like an 230W adapter will push extra power..

Your concern is about motherboard dieing as 13th and 14th gen HX units are most affected. Get extra warranty.

I bought a lenovo loq 15IHR8 with an i7 13th 13620h and an rtx 4060, the biggest problem is not that the board is failing or something like that, but because Lenovo incorporates lower capacity chargers for these devices, my components at their maximum capacity They give an approximate consumption of 230w, in your case your i5 12450HX has a higher consumption than my i7, having a maximum turbo power of 157 W vs my 115 W, and adding the power on the graph which is 115 W you should opt for the 300 W charger, because I still have the problem of battery drain because they gave me a 170 W charger.
You are mostly correct. 157W is the theoretical rated limit, but this little 4P+4E core CPU gains nothing beyond 80W. But yea you need to request for a 230W adapter to sort of fix the battery drain. There is still some drain like up to 5% but in many hours - this was reported by Jarrod's Tech as well in his recent review of the Legion 7i.
Request the 230W adpater by raising a complaint, Lenovo is pretty prompt in replacing the charger.

12450HX 4060. The GPU upgrade is more worth than the CPU upgrade in this case. The extra 2 GB VRAM is really worth it, meanwhile the performance jump from the 12450HX to the 13450HX is not that significant. Also the lower risk of the 12th Gen LOQ compared to the 13th Gen is icing on the cake.
Basic rule: Future proof the GPU as GPUs last much lesser than CPUs. 12450HX will last 10 years, while 4050 is already outdated.

Hi Deeptesh,this is not about Lenovo loq but in oct 2021 i buy Lenovo IdeaPad slim 5i comes with faulty motherboard but it got replaced but in this year I get heating issue so Lenovo replaced by motherboard in April,then it gives power on issue then motherboard replaced again and then I got no charging issue i.e it is dead my warranty till oct this year so please help me Lenovo just replacing my motherboard and then they not taking any responsibility please guide me

The BIOS is literally programmed to use battery+ac adapter power to reach power targets.
There is a BIOS update to fix it, but it is not fully effective, it's better than previous though. Anyways it's not a huge concern - it's your wish to upgrade the adapter.

I don't understand what you are saying. For all the metrics, I use msi afterburner, it'll only show in applications using DX3D like games.

Little apprehensive about using a ₹50 generic 10 amp power cable on such an expensive laptop. Will it impact the health of the brick or laptop battery in the long run?
Then you can use a thicker 250/- cable if you wish.. the reason I use that 50/- cable because I have the same cable with a 400W electric kettle which works fine for years now. You can also ask electrician to wire a larger 16 amp socket so that you can plug the big OEM 16amp plug in.

@@som8072 they will not reply bro , there's an option for preparing a call , fill the info and the ticket number, and then they will immediately call you , then tell them your problem and they will download some softwares on your pc and check some reports and after that , they'll provide you the charger
And if they ask for the proof - just keep a screen recording (15-30 minutes of gameplay)of the percentage of battery before playing and then after 20-30 minutes of gameplay, show the battery percentage then

On latest BIOS it's called "auto". No they didn't ask for any video proof (but I had already captured video proof).

I have ordered the Lenovo loq 15ahp9 (rtx 4050 , Ryzen 5 8645 hs) is it likely that I might face the same issues although the hs processors are power efficient.

No it's common. Same happens with Lenovo Legion 7i and other lenovo gaming laptops as well.

Only Ryzen 9 7940HS can be undervolted and Ryzen 7x45HX can be undervolted

Flipkart has arranged for a senior analyst from Lenovo who will visit to analyse the battery drop issue in my LOQ then I'll update about the resolution provided by him.
Why so much hassle? Just call the number and they'll provide you. It took just over 24hrs to raise complaint and receive the new adapater. Anyways let us know..

So they came and enabled the battery drop protection in the bios to save their ass but then this setting limits my GPU and other hardware which decreased the overall fps and performance. Then I asked them to just replace the adapter with 230W mentioning the similar resolution has been given to other customers on online forums like reddit and CZcams. Now they agreed to replace it by taking adapters serial number pics and hardware testing information. Phew i thought I lost my chance to get it replaced 😅

I was planning on reccomending this laptop to my friend, but I don't think he'd be going into all that hastle of lodging a complaint to get the 230W adapter. Does this laptop still loose battery when running it on the reccomended undervolted settings that you had suggested?
It's not a big deal even if you have 170W adapter, you lose some %ge.
The thing is the laptop's BIOS is programmed to utilize battery power + ac adapter to reach power targets, so with 170W adapter it'll use battery power no matter what.
I only applied for replacement to make a video, I was using 170W only.

@@DeepteshLovesTECH i general when I used my Old rog laptop the default monitor framrate was 144hz . But with LOQ my monitor is capped at 120 hz ... Not in games but the general refresh rate of the monitor when I connect it with my laptop through HDMI cable. My laptop display screen 1 is 144hz but the external monitor screen 2 is only giving an output of 120hz.

Bro is Lenovo legion slim 5 Ryzen 7 7840HS RTX 4060 @112k a good choice or Lenovo legion 5i i7 14th HX series RTX 4060 @155k where as Slim 5 has 230w adaptor & 80whr battery Display same as 5i and as for Legion 5i it has 300w adaptor & 100whr battery but only lasts 5.3hrs and Slim 5 lasts for 8hrs approx... Should i really invest over 40k on that performance what i7 14th gen offers.... Eagerly waiting for your reply 🙏🤍
Buying 8GB RTX 4060, which already struggles to run latest games at 60fps at 1080p, at over 110k is already a crime.
No gaming laptop is worth over 110k with 8GB VRAM (may be max 120k for 8GB 4070). Next stop is 250k for 12GB RTX 4080.

Bro i thought about what you said about getting RTX 4070 under 120k but i couldn't find a single thing, but tbh i need a laptop for good gaming and professional work, So I did my Little research & i found:
(1) Lenovo LOQ Ryzen 7 8845HS, RTX 4060, 16GB Ram, 512 SSD TLC, 1440p resolution display 350 nits, battery 60whr, 230w adaptor @110k.
(2) Lenovo LOQ has i7 13th HX series, Display is FHD 300 nits, (rest is almost the same specs) @110k.
(3) LOQ i7 14th HX has 2k Display Rest is same @130k.
PLZ NOTE: All above mentioned laptops have RTX 4060, 60whr battery and 230w AC adaptor.
(4) Legion Slim 5 Ryzen 7 7840HS rtx 4060 & has 80whr battery, 230w AC adaptor, 1600 resolution 350 nits wala display @112k..... Brother plz plz recommend a good laptop 🙏🙏
4) Legion 5 Slim 7840HS 4060. It has all the qualities you'd need. LOQ's 8845HS is just rebranded 7840HS.
Intel 13th/14th gen LOQ's have motherboard issues.
