This was maiden a their peak. Some fans will say seventh son but for me itâs this album. It sounds very different from the traditional maiden. Adrian smith wrote a lot of the songs which was unusual for them at the time. Itâs a great album and would be my number 1 from any Maiden album.
Go see them live in the US this fall (2024), this song is on the set list, a rare treat to see them perform this song live given its difficulty and also just the shear number of classics they can play from their extensive catalog. Also I believe the Mongolian band the Hu will be opening so it should be an amazing show. Tix on sale now.

as someone who is getting on in years {70} i grew up on some of the best bands in the world {zep sabbath tull spooky tooth to name a few my musical world stopped when john bonham passed ,this band got me started again so much so that i took my kids to see them when ever possible still love the power of the music even though the tinnitus mars the tunes a bit. enjoy life ]
Recorded on the band's 6th album in 1986. Never played live until last year. Was fortunate enough to see it on their 3rd tour stop in Prague and was pretty blown away, even though attending 20+ Maiden shows since 1981 have conditioned to me knowing they never disappoint live. The guitar work was so damn good, but the highlight was the vocal performance by 65-year old Dickinson, which was impressive beyond words.

This is peak Steve Harris song right here. One of their best epic, longer songs.
