I used to hang out with these guys in East London way back in the late 70's/early 80s....we drank and messed about in the Ruskin Arms pub. I also played football ⚽️ with Stevie Harris and believe me he was as good at that as he is on the bass. I must have seen them play there at least 30 times before they made the big time. They were all the most humble decent guys you could meet. I first met Bruce when he was the singer with Sansom.....he was in the Ruskin Arms and it was obvious he would join the band. The best thing about Iron Maiden is they have stayed true rockers and they are still the most humble decent guys you could meet. Stevie still keeps in touch@!! We all supported West Ham Utd......Still do for our sins!!!! Up the Irons ⚒️
Iron Maiden has so many tracks far too many, but these are a few which I recommend: "Run To The Hills", "Hallowed Be Thy Name", "The Trooper", "The Evil That Men Do", "Powerslave", "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter", "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", "The Number of The Beast", "Running Free", "Children of The Damned", "Two Minutes To Midnight", "A Stranger In a Strange Land", "Rime of The Ancient Mariner", "Flight of Icarus". There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.
Obviously, “that” world never left us. I’m grateful for bands like iron maiden to remind us with the stories of who and what we are vs. who we think we are.
Best song on this record and a top 5 Maiden song of all time is Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. It's a MUST do. Based on the long poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge so the lyric version is the one to do so you can follow the story. Wouldn't be against the live version from Flight 666 concert though:)

This was the concert opener the first time I saw the band in October 1984, and I still can't think of too many moments to match the rush of excitement as the band hit the stage after the excerpt from Churchill's speech, and from this, straight into 2 Minutes to Midnight. Iron Maiden have almost always played in standard tuning, which is one reason you don't get the sludginess you hear from some metal bands. Dave Murray's Strat once belonged to Paul Kossoff from Free, modified with the humbucking pickups in neck and bridge.
great song. try the clansman rock in rio 2001 and the red and the black live chapter. later maiden with 3 guitars trading solos. bruce cut his hair short for his other career as a full time passenger jet pilot. red and the black concert was after he was cured of throat cancer. and now he is back singing again
You are correct, Dave plays mainly Fender Strats and Adrian plays custom made Jacksons, in the Aces High video Adrian is playing a Lado Earth guitar, its Canadian made, he had a few of these guitars at that point in time.
Almost a different band from the one you saw in the Women In Uniform video . Dave Murray guitar and Steve Harris on bass are the only two left in the Aces High video . Hope to see more Maiden on the channel , I think you guys are gonna like them .
Real nostalgia journey for me back to the mid 1980's as a teenager. I have no idea where I put this album I had but I certainly not seen it for well over 30 years and doubt I listened to the album much after 1985. Gave it a good work out on the cassette album I had at the time in mid 80's but sort of grew out of it by 1986 or 87. So I think I not heard this song for 37 to 38 years but it reminds me of being right in the middle of the 1980's with the sound of heavy metal music that had a fun period then. Good sound but does feel dated now so as much as it is a good trip down memory lane to an album I had back then it not something I'd pull out and listen to now. If I had not lost that album it unlikely I would have a desire to listen to a 50 minute album of theirs that I would do back as a teenager. I think Two Minutes to Midnight was another good song on that album for it's time.
