The Arctic Homecoming - [Short documentary-Sailing the North Atlantic]

- In July and August 2017 five good friends started their journey of struggle through the ice in search of the perfect hiking and sailing adventure on Greenland. They crossed the north Atlantic from the east coast of Canada via Greenland, before sailing back home to Norway.
The arctic homecoming is the story about a group of good friends sailing from Canada and back to Norway with the 42-foot Swedish built sailboat, as abase for all the adventures that they wanted to carry out during their time there. Their hope is simply to traveling to remote places that have only been seen by a handful of people. Most of the film take place on Greenland where the crew sailed for one month to explore and hike in the fantastic nature.

The Arctic and Greenland is magical so i will recommend you to visit it in the future. Im hoping to circumnavigate Svalbard next year, just love the place and the wildlife up there

@@Sindrekol det e nok sant, ja. Æ seile med en eldre Maxi i Troms og det går helt fint. Men når æ skal på litt lengre turer, spesielt kryssing, vil æ ha noe større. Seilte dåkker fra norge til canada og tilbake?
@@BenQ735 nei det var en del av en rundtur fra Norge til Spania og over Atlanteren der! Maxi er absolutt en veldig fin båt, startet med en maxi 77 selv som førtse båt

Glad you liked the film! The boat it's an important part of this expedition, but the boat is not mine. I'm a student with close to zero income. The last 6 years have I traveled on expedition all over the world and I think it's possible to do this because I invest my time helping others and want to be a part of their dream. I therfor think you can manage to live this life if you want to dedicate your time 100%

@@Sindrekol I’m curious, as a sailor myself I’ve been told my whole life a fiberglass boat can’t go to the artic. Did you have any major troubles along the way
@@JackSmith-pr4zc since we only sailed in areas with a low ice density was it possible to do this safely. We didn't have any problems but we had to be careful there and we often had one person in the front looking for growlers and small icebergs
