The Day the Earth Stood Still is one of my favorite. This Island Earth is great as well. The words she tells Gort were the names of the aliens in Spaced Invaders.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers still holds up very well today. The 70's and 90's versions are also good.
By modern standards, Klaatu’s attentions to Bobby would be viewed with deep suspicion.

“This Island Earth” is a visually stunning movie and the “ mutant” was a horrifying creature, one of the 50s classic movie monsters , but it didn’t make sense to me why it had such a giant brain, but was considered inferior to the humanoid leaders.
Some others claim universe is expanding but how does either know when it is too big to see it all.
When I was a kid, the giant bugs in ‘This Island Earth’ terrified me.
saw invaders from Mars when I 5 yrs old. gave none nightmares.
I wonder if Klaatu had special sensors attached to him so that Gort could always monitor Klaatus wellbeing and location!????😮
How about Invaders fro Mars? The original one it scared me as a kid and had me looking at adults necks😂
This Island Earth was parodied brilliantly by the MST3K movie.
