Hi Jennifer, I have had my Cricut for almost 5 years (Expression before the Air 2) with a part-time business. I think we are always learning when it comes to these machines. Just when we think we have it all figured out something new comes out! That's what makes it fun!
I do want to thank you because all this time later and I've learned things from your last 2 or 3 videos that I didn't know. Thank you and keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for a video with all 3 methods together.
I like putting my polycrylic into the condiment ( ketchup and mustard) squeeze bottles from the dollar store. I also let the polycrylic dry just until it turns clear, and I find I get a more even coat with less glitter.
OMG. I love the multiple vinyl colors on one mat idea! Thanks for this!
You are a very gifted presenter! I can’t wait to get started! Come on Amazon, you were supposed to be here today. Anyway I compliment the techniques you included in your tutorial! Thank you!
After a few years of doing the glitter ornaments I found the polycrylic holds the test of time without the ornaments loosing their look. I also just found a trick for pouring it. I put it into a new dollar store condiment bottle to store. It has that ketchup too so it’s SUPER EASY to use and store. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you for the tips! I've also heard (since I made my video) that polycrylic will hold up the best over time. I'll take a look at these ornaments in a year to see how they are doing, too!
Allison Silensky!! Thank you 🙏 for the test of time reply! I’m new to this and I’m buying the supplies this week so I was going to buy mop and glo, but now I will buy the polycrylic! I’m doing this with my Grandkids! Thank you 😊
I tried the Glitter It with my baubles and my partner knocked a couple of them off the tree and the glitter came away inside :( I was gutted.
Allison silensky thank you for sharing your tip!
Which polycrylic do you use? There gloss, semi gloss, and matte finish. I don’t know if they are all the same or if one works best
Firstly, I want to say your videos are very interesting and I appreciate seeing the comparisons that you make. I do have a tip (as someone who has been working with vinyl since 1995). It's easier to just change the colors of everything to black (or white or whatever) on your page before you press make it. This way you don't have to move everything to the same mat (which takes three times the amount of time). You can still place your colors how you want to your mat so moving them after the fact is just more work. You can also just click select all and then attach. When doing it this way you can't make further adjustments on the mat so make sure that the spacing is already how you want it if you decide to go that route.
What does Maria mean, change all the colors to black or white before you press do you dont have to move everything to the same mat
@@gentryluz if you have different colours the machine wants you to use different mats. Keeping it all "one colour" just means you use one mat, but you have to put the colour vinyl in the proper place if you want a different colour than that "one" colour
Thanks for sharing this with us. Can’t wait to make these. A tip I read from somewhere is to use a lint roller to collect all of your tiny weeding pieces and just tear and toss when you’re done.
Wow! Just found you and have learned in the three videos I've watched than I have in the year I've had my cricut! So many cute ideas and GREAT tips! Thanks for everything!
I really appreciate the product comparison for the glues. I tried to make these last year and I did not have the right one. This years ornaments will be so much better! Thank you Jennifer!
Glad it was helpful, Holly! 😍
Thank you for the blade sharpening trick!! I bought new blades. Won't have to any more. I love your videos!
I've just ordered my fist circuit air because of your awesome videos. I live in South Wales in the United Kingdom. Thanks so much for inspiring me
Have had my Explore Air 2 for a year now and have made so many paper things but vinyl has been a struggle! I’ve maybe made 3 simple items - all done the hard way! I’ve learned so much from your videos! You’ve simplified the process so much for me. Thank you!!
I started with a silhouette, I just got my cricut maker. And I may get voted off the island for saying this, but I do not Like cricut vinyl. I have always purchased Oracle 651 and the only time I have had an issue with it is when I am cutting something very, very little. Or if my blade is dull. Cricut vinyl is so hard to work with or at least it was in my Sil. Cameo. Plus I purchase my vinyl in larger quantities and the cricut is just too expensive. I had to buy some cricut HTV over the Christmas break out of desperation and it seemed to do ok. But I had to pay way more than I’m used to.
That was an amazing tip by putting different color vinyl's on the same mat. Never thought of doing that. Thank you JM. You are amazing as always.
You are so welcome, Jerry! 😍
Wow, so very helpful! Laying the curved vinyl is what I'm referring to! Who'd have thunk?! Thank you, Jennifer.
I have wanted to make these ornaments for. Couple of years now. Hopefully I get around to doing some this year. TFS!
Thank you so much! You are so talented & generous. The blade sharpening aluminum tip was also very needed. You are my new best crafting friend!
So happy to help! That aluminum ball trick is a lifesaver.
Oh yes ... definitely going to give that a try!
This was the BEST video tutorial I have seen on how to place vinyl onto a curved (ornament) surface. THANK YOU, Gwen
You are so welcome!
I like your tips and tricks and enjoy your videos. What I LOVE is yours craft room and how you e decorated it. Mine is a complete mess ALL THE TIME. You’re an inspiration.
I loved that you tested all the adhesive options! You're just adorable and fun to learn from 😊💖
Yay, thank you!! ❤️
Your tutorials are amazing. Thank you for being so detailed and showing all the struggles of dealing with vinyl!
So glad you enjoyed the video, Diana!
I went to a craft class last year to learn how to do this and was completely disappointed. Thank you so much for this video instruction as well as the comparisons. I am going to try these again this year..
You are so welcome, Angela! Glad it helped! 😍
I recently bought the polycrylic, I really liked the coverage also.
I found this video in the nick of time! I have wanted to make these ornaments forever and now I am going to give it a try. Thank you Jennifer!!
Wonderful! Have fun!
Thank you thank you for sharing your designs. Im completely understand people wanting to keep their ideas to themselves. And there is nothing wrong with that but I soooo appreciate with artist are happy to share with other artist. It’s just so generous and giving. Thank.
You are so welcome, Pauline! It is totally my pleasure! 😍
I love your videos. You speak as if we are best friends and that you have no doubt that we can make projects as beautiful as you do.
I am so glad you like them!
Thank you once again Jennifer. The ornaments are adorable and I love how easy it is to follow your directions.
You are so welcome! 😃💜
I can not tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I received my cricut maker as a gift in May and have to credit you to some degree for my success with it and enjoyment of it.
Thank you for your sweet comment Kendra, I'm so glad you're enjoying your new Cricut. I'd love to see some of your creations in my Facebook group! You can find the link above if you're interested! :)
Thank you Jennifer for your reply. Doing the water slide decal as a first step makes sense.
You're welcome, Judith! I've never tried it, myself, so it will be a bit of an experiment, but it seems like the best way to do it! 🤔🥰
I definitely need to try making glitter ornaments! I’m so glad I watch the video before buying anything. I’m definitely buying Poly!
I'm so glad!
Love them! Getting my supplies now! Looking forward to adding the creative gift boxes.
Yay, thank you, Roberta! 😊
Love your videos, can’t wait for the ornament boxes to complete the ornaments gift, I’m a soap maker and been wanting to cut my own boxes in the cricut maybe that would be a nice project to do.
I really enjoy your videos. I find if I weed right from the cutting mat I have a much easier time of it. It’s like having a third hand.
Great scrapity project. Every vinyl artist recommends saving scraps but few actually show how to use them. Good job.
Thank you! 💗
So happy I found your channel full of practical Cricut ideas!
I've been doing ornaments for about 2 years. I love the polycrylic. Thank you for this tutorial and cute svg designs!
You are so welcome!
May I ask you a question pls? I am having problems when i insert the ornament my screen does not break it down per cut. What am I doing wrong?
@@taviasimpson1459 I have not yet made a floating ornament but plan to try some this year. I would try cutting your insert down just a little.
THANK you! I want to make some of these for gifts this year so this video was so timely!
Thank you for your tutorial. I planned on using the Minwax Polycrylic, but there were a lot of articles suggesting alternatives. I was really happy to see your companion. Fantastic tutorial !
Thank you so much! 😃
So glad I watched this. I thought it was me. I do a lot of small projects and i have to re-cut vinyl all the time. Thanks for all the info!
You are so welcome, Sisi! Glad it was helpful! 😍
Great job! Getting my supplies together. Thanks for the tutorial.
This is Tom's wife Nancy commenting. Jennifer makes thorough videos that are easy to follow the directions and easy to stop, do the step, restart for the next step and so on. She's always very joyous as well!
Thank you so much! ❤️
I watched a video where a lady did these with the polycrylic, and she had the product in a squeeze condiment bottle AND the glitter in a squeeze bottle as well and it went so fast and was so clean the only messy part was a wet paper towel she used to cover the hole when she turned the ornament with glitter inside. she used the same cup method too :) you make everything so easy I can't wait to try it.
That's a great idea she had as well! Best of luck on your ornaments! Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you so much for all of your tutorials! You are absolutely amazing and I love how easy you make everything look and even explain the hard parts! I’ve watched a lot of your videos based off a relative’s recommendation and I have done a few of them so far! My favorites are the iron on and the Christmas Ornaments such as this video! I’ve made over a dozen ornaments and showed my husband’s aunt how to do them! Going to show my Mom today! ❤️
Awww...love that! Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!! This is so wonderful. I love your style and how calmly you show even the problem areas that you have.
Thank you so much, Denise! 😍

Thank you so much, I’m new to crafting....I retired and it’s my turn to be creative!
You had mentioned a 3-D Christmas tree from wood. As I want to jump right in with my new Cricut maker can you show a video of that. Thanks again, you’re wonderful.

I really like using the polycyclic. It's easy to apply and holds the glitter really well. It's economic because a little goes a long way.
Thank you for watching!
Love these ornaments, yes I’m making them. Thank you Jennifer
Wonderful! 😃
Thank you thank you thank you.Just got a cricut and at first it can be overwhelming. I would love for you to make a video on how to transfer a family photo from our own photos to a t shirt. i went through a whole roll of iron on vinyl, ouch. A step by step, like you always do, would be awesome! I can't even began to tell how awesome you are. thanks for all you do
I watched this video twice! I didn't want to pause to learn new things my first watch through, it was too addictive Lol.
Awe...yay! Happy to help you learn new things! So glad to have you here! :)

I have a Cricut Maker, I received it 2 months ago. I have been watching you on CZcams. I am going to make the glitter ornaments, I have the ornaments just need to get the glitter and polycrylic. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
You are so welcome, Pamela! Have fun with them! 😍
Thanks for taking the guess work out for me. Got my supplies and now after watching I'm more confident. Thanks
Glad to help, Marilyn! Hope you have fun! 😄
Thank you for the product comparison. I've seen so many recommendations, it's nice to know what works best and holds up. I've made many using the Glitter It and I'm anxious now to get them back out to see how they've held up. I may have to try the Polycrylic.
You are so welcome, Cindy! 😄
Some years back, I did something similar using different colored paints swirled on the inside of the ornaments, to look like they were marbleized. Just another option for anybody who doesn't want to use glitter. I'll be doing this glitter version soon, to add to my ever growing collection of holiday decorations. Going to need more trees soon .. LOL
Too many ornaments? There is no such thing, Elizabeth! 😂🥰
i LOVE YOUR ORNAMENTS & THE CHANCE TO LEARN DIFFERENT METHODS
I didn't even think about cutting the transfer paper....duh on my end. Great tutorial, thank you again!!!

I think I'll make each of my six grandchildren an ornament for their Christmas trees this year. I'm relatively new to many things on Cricut BUT your tutorials are very helpful. I'll be saving this video to reference while making all twelve ornaments. What?! YES TWELVE! Memaw has to have each kid's name on her tree too! 😉 Thanks 🎄

Happy Holidays to you and yours 💞
