Really cleaned them out of thier intel, didn't ya? If it wasn't for that NPC, it would have been a clean sweep. These guys'll need to clean up their act if they want to pose a real challenge.

That mission type could use an update. It says it's a capture resources mission, but the description implies hacking the computers is the actual goal while acquiring data is secondary. The in-mission objectives support this. When you got into the mission, the objective was to "Sabotage Cleaner computer desks" which incremented on interacting. I wonder if destroying them before interacting with them would have also counted without granting data sticks.
I think the data sticks only give 1% Cleaner HQ Location % each. The mission said it gives +5% progress, and you went in with 55%. You can even see the 55% pop up for a split second after the map loads but before the mission results screen comes up. After the mission results screen, you have 71% progress. 71 - 55 is 16% gained from the mission. Subtract the 5% you got as the mission reward, and you're left with 11, the exact number of data sticks you evacuated with. That doesn't seem all that great. I suppose compared to the base mission amount, that is pretty good. On the other hand, coming home with captured cleaners seems to give like 5% or more if I remember the previous missions.
That brings up an interesting conundrum. If destroying the computers counts toward sabotaging the desks, then you could theoretically just run in, stun the first couple guards, level the building with grenade launchers, then drag the stunned guards out for basically the same reward without having to risk moving deeper into the building and getting caught by cleaner reinforcements.
I don’t believe destroying computers counts? At 17:02 you can see the computer that the enemies destroyed still pulsing with an outline, and I believe the counter didn’t tick up when the enemies hit it. Unless that computer isn’t destroyed but rather just damaged?
Nevermind, it was just damaged. Ret was able to interact with it.

Retcon, if you're accepting roster suggestions from viewers, I would like to suggest Hanse Castillo and Fiona Ayoade. Maybe one of them even rises to rank of colonel and becomes a striking commander in their own right?
X-COM like games where your soldiers can shoot at the broad side of a barn and miss the entire barn from the inside at full auto. What is your method for gaining favor with the almighty RNG?

Yup, that's the one. Though I'm still getting used to it. Sometimes I end up hitting Tab or CTRL instead. :P

I think it's *mostly* just reimagined or refined versions of the classic aliens, but I could be mistaken. I believe the Cleaners are new as well. :)

You never know who will survive. RPGs are boring in this department (all Yours companions have to survive, unless scenario says otherwise)...

Losing civilians causes Panic in the region, which decreases funding you receive from that region.
So saving friendlies is a good idea when its possible. Some of them just make it very difficult to keep them alive. :)

@@jebise1126 Apparently they're all just collectively referred to as "Locals" whether they're armed or not.
That guy was clearly some sort of soldier, but you can see on the end-screen that 0/1 "Locals" survived.
A pity that a game doesn't make that distinction. Yet? Police officer or soldier kind of has that part in their job description.
Now I wonder if Cleaners can be part of terror missions attacking civilians as that would be a bit weird?😅 @@RetconRaider
