I have to warn you that I have no formal automotive training, and have just learned by breaking stuff. If you can learn anything from my mistakes then great, but you do so at your own risk! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
great video, i need more :) you are doing a great job, thank you for it
Thanks 👍
The grey-silver beard shows your wisdom and quite suits you, anything like me though and it itches after a while and comes off 😀 but your right gives you something to scratch while in thought.
Thanks 🤣
Steve does it again!! its there anything this man can't fix????
Thanks Rich, that's very kind 😁. I can't fix my waistline 🤣.
I've got yhe Aussie version of this car (2004 Holden Barina XC) and I'm in the process of replacing the alternator. This video has been very helpful, however I'm really struggling with dislodging the alternator. It looks like you have a lot more room to play with in the engine bay...
Thanks, good luck sorting it out 🤞.
Happy new year from the Dutch fanclub! 🎉
Thanks Fred, happy new year to you too 👍. Sorry it's been a while, but I've not been well.
@@LarcsWorkshop I hope it wasn't serious and you have fully recovered!
@@frednetherlands887 All good now thanks Fred👍. Just a UTI that took a long time to clear up.
@@LarcsWorkshop oh my you must have felt bad an drained of energy. Glad you are better and hopefully you have enough projects to work on and strat enjoying again!
@@frednetherlands887 Thanks again Fred👍 don't worry, I've got loads of projects 🤣
Expect to see 14-14.5 V, drop off after starting points to Alternator regulator failing, dry joint on rectifier plate or failing diodes possibly
Thanks Neil, that's some good information 👌
Did u take both cables off the battery?
No, I just removed the ground cable and tucked it down out of the way.
You missed the process of tensioner
The tensioner is spring loaded so sorts its own tension out.
