Ortega Horse Kick Pro Demo and Review

- Tis video is not sponsored. The Ortega Horse Kick Pro is essentially a stomp-box that produces a kick tone that is touch sensitive and has 5 different sound samples to mimic an actual instrument. If you’ve ever seen a busker or a solo artist use a kick drum while playing to add a back beat, it's obvious that drum takes up quite a bit of space. The Horse Kick Pro is the lightweight, compact, one-man show percussion solution.
It has what a musician would actually be looking for: Dynamic control, versatility, and portability.

I love to see it in more videos!!
Thanks for your feedback! That means a lot to me!
Very neat device. Thanks for the review and the memories - made me think back to the Rhythm Ace I had in the 70's.
That would be really cool to hear one of those to see how they would compare with each other.
Wow great video!
Thank you! Thank you for being first as well!!!!! I appreciate you.
When that cow bell started, I wanted to break out in Elvis’ “a little less conversation”🤣
YES!! That would be a perfect song to use this.
YES ON THE COWBELL
Cool video, looks like a fun piece of kit, could even for in a gig bag 💃💜💃
I thought this was a really cool tutorial and reviewI think I would definitely use something like that but it almost would take too much coordination for me I'm kind of a klutz I'm always tapping my feet while I play but I don't know if I could do. I really like the concept and I really appreciate you reviewing it. I don't know if I have the coordination to play this
I've never seen anything like that before. That is really cool! I like it but in your tutorials I would greatly prefer for it to just be you and your uke. When learning, extra sounds can be distracting and make it harder to concentrate. It would be a lot of fun to add that at home with songs I already know.
Hi Miss Katie, it's pretty cool! Hope you can show more on how to use it to play with different kinds of songs plssss... 💋💋💋💋💋thank you muchi muchi.
Thank hanks for your feedback!!! I’m glad that you liked it and want to see more. I thinks pretty cool as well and adds a little something extra. I appreciate seeing you here every single time ❤️❤️❤️.
Hello, is it possible the Ortega Horse Kick to connect with Korg Wavedrum without specially Hardware? Best Greetings
I got the fever, and the only cure is MORE COWBELL! Nice accessory. I'd use it as most drummers I've worked with have been a little nuts. I prefer non-traditional percussion anyway.
Hahahahah!! You always make me laugh. I hear you. I’ve worked with my fair share of drummers that haven’t been the greatest. Let’s cure the fever with more cowbell!!!!
Very nice. Will definitely check that out. So quick question - If I used this when I gig, would this require another input? My amp has a quarter inch for my uke and a XLR input for my mic. But that maxes me out. Is there another option that I'm not thinking about? And yes... lol, always could use more cow bell! Haha!
Good question. You would have to plug it into an amp or through a PA. You can adjust the volume on the pedal, so that's nice to know that you can control how loud it is on the device rather than the sound board or the amp. You could plug in your uke to the pedal and the pedal to the amp. It would work :). All you need is another instrument cable and you're good to go.
One Music School thanks for your excellent and quick reply!!!
No. It has an in and an out so you can run it through your pickup on your guitar.
How were you getting two sounds out of it in the beginning of this video??
Hi there! Thank you for the sweet demo! Always nice to see a female musician promoting a product. I am a singer songwriter and love the idea of adding percussion to my sometimes percussive guitar playing. Just bought the pro through my local Guitar Center, and I should have it Friday for my gig next week. Question: Is it really battery operated if not hooked up to my pa? Thanks!
I've got the horse kick v2 (the cheaper model with only the cajon sound) and it's not bad overall. The main issue is you can't adjust the sensitivity, you have to smack it hard with your foot to get the loudest sound out of it. It's harder to use standing up, with your heel instead of your toe and/or without the right type of shoes on. You can, of course, make it louder by turning up the gain and eq on your amp but naturally it'll make your guitar louder too. It works best on its own separate channel so it can be mixed properly without affecting your original guitar sound.
I want to get one for my ukulele! its very important for me because i lose my tempo so I need one. i love your videos. You're also a great teacher. i hope you can do more songs like Sunflower like in the movie (Sierra Burgess is a loser)
Funny! I had to look up Sierra Burgess is a Loser 😂. I thought it was strange to say something like that, so I’m glad I looked it up. I’m so happy you like my videos. You’re a such a sweetheart.
Gracias genial me encanta tu VOZ Dios te bendiga amiga
:)
mine dont work, the cables and everything is right but it doesnt make any sound at all and i just bought it.
thanks for the review... i think it has it’s place, but like u said u have to like the set sounds & it won’t replace an actual kick/cajon but for set up, move ability, & ease it has its place for some people.
True, not every product is going to be for everyone, and you should't buy everything. You have to decide if it's right for you.
One Music School absolutely!! continued success!!
I have one of these...It is Great!......Well made and fun to use...... I think that it can enhance your playing........Good review, Katie!........:)........Wow, I use a Fender Champion Amp too......Oh my gosh!!!......Parallel Universes between us!!!.......LOL...........BTW, I look good in orange too.........:).......Not as good as you, though.....:)
Hahahah!!! I knew were friends for a reason. If we meet in person, we’ll have to coordinate and wear orange 😀😀😀. That’s so great to hear from someone that has the product. The consumer’s feedback is so important. Have an awesome day, Greg. You’re the best.
It is pretty cool device......LOL....As long as it is not "Prison Orange".........:)
@@Greg-vd5om Oh my gosh! Greg! I do agree with you...no prison orange. I only like to sing Folsom Prison Blues...
How are you? Very beautiful ukulele.

Wow está súper guapísima bendición para ti me encanta tús idea thank you wow está súper guapísima bendición para ti bonita
😀😀😀😀😀❤️
well its nice but... its 200 dollars and you need an amp for it so lets say its at least a 250 dollars investment for this and dont get me wrong if you got the $ then good why not use it i dont even have a pick up or amp for my ukulele xD
I completely understand. It costs less than a kick drum, but it still is $200 nonetheless. The simpler version is more affordable, but $200 for just the pedal can be pricey. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts. Have a great day.
so this box is for your hands? What a misguided review!!
No, it’s for your feet. I was quickly demonstrating the sounds by tapping it with my fingers.
@@OneMusicSchool If you should rate yourself: Giving a review using your fingers on a device made for feet!! Come on!!!!
